Games for Laptops

As a spin off of my Wii thread, I would like to play some games on my laptop. I know I am not going to be able to play Black Ops or Halo Reach, but are there games? Seems like I should be able to play SNES level games or even games like old school Tomb Raider.

My laptop is just the run of the mill PC $500-$700 laptop - less than a year old. I know very little about what is actually in these machines today.

I asked the kid at Best Buy and he just looked at me like I had two heads and said I needed a PC or a gaming laptop. Surely there is something out there?

I don't know if I would look for old PC games, new games made for a laptop, or some sort of download.

age of empires 1 and 2 work well enough.

Get MAME and start playing a lot of the old arcade games.

I have an emulator program on my laptop with every Super Nintendo game made in the US. Grabbed a plug-n-play Super Nintendo style controller off of EBay ($20) and I'm gold :D

I understand that there are people who like playing games on the computer, so I'm not knocking it. I just would rather turn on my 360 if I was gonna play something other than Mario.
