Wondering if anyone is watching the clone wars. Great series and one hell of a 3 part mini series featuring Savage Opress. I have to say for myself that its kind of taking away from the Renegades for me. Renegades is pretty good so far, but nothing compared to Clone Wars. Anyone know if they are releasing a SAVAGE OPRESS figure in the future? THOUGHTS???

No. I've been very disappointed in Clone wars so far so I do not watch it. I do not even know who savage Opress is. For me, the direction that Joe has taken seems like it started out more childish and tongue-in-cheek (which was cool for me as a kid in the 80's) but through renegades has evolved into a more clever and adult orientated story while Clone wars has done the opposite. Sorry.

Clone Wars is awesome. I say re-do Episodes 1-3 in Clone Wars style animation and Star Wars would be better for it.

Yeah, Clone Wars makes Renegades look like a cheap knock-off toy cartoon...

I watch both CW & renegades. I really like this 3 parter that CW is doing, and I hope they make him into a figure. I can't even imagine they won't. But I must say that even though CW had a pretty decent start this season, the last several episodes before this 3-parter have been pretty boring and disappointing.

I really like Renegades. They haven't made any really bad episodes yet, but I didn't care for the 2-part ninja episode. But it still wasn't bad.

I love the Clone Wars, but have only seen seasons 1 and 2, I don't have the Cartoon Network, so I've seen nothing of season 3 yet, gotta wait for it to be released retail.

I love the CW - and like Renegades, the seasons can be a little uneven. CW has some episodes that are obviously done just to add new characters/vehicles/aliens to sell more toys. I'm relatively certain that is why new clone captains/officers/grunts are given names and obviously painted helmets/armor. But the shows often have a clear story line, and often references previous episodes which makes watching it every week feel more rewarding. The animation is great - I agree, that they really could redo the movies with animation and they would be amazing (of course if they do this, they could fix a whole lot more than the visuals.) To be fair, they have 2 seasons under their belts at this studio and, if I remember correctly, 5 seasons of material Lucas outlined for them at the start. Renegades is just beginning with no toy line so harder to see how this will all play out - both in story and in sales.

I've gotten back in Clone Wars with this new 3-parter. Season 3 has been a disappointment with all of the Space Politicing going on. I'm thankful for the break from Anakin and Obi-Wan but some of the stories they presented were downright boring.

I'm certain a Savage Oppress figure is coming. Nothing announced yet but it's inevitable.

I don't get the Hub (yet) so I haven't seen Renegades. I'll probably have to catch it on DVD. Sounds like a good show though.

I catch CW every now and then, my MAIN problem with the entire show is that we know how it's going to end, and it's not going to end well.

Personally I'd rather see them do a series that takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, that's the stuff I want to know about, not the retread Clone Wars over and over.

BUT that said, every time I watch the show I enjoy it, so I must need to watch more right? Meh, not necessarily. I do feel like the show is just another attempt to make more toys, BUT at the same time that can be said about every show on TV.

As for Savage Opress, yeah, he's coming in figure form. I don't know if there's anything official, but the sheer number of figures pumped out by Hasbro year after year even the most MUNDANE figures are getting made. The guy in Empire with the Ice-Cream maker comes to mind.

To be fair, Hasbro has made it clear they are not making many more female figures from CW - they say they don't sell. The Mandalorian queen or whatever is not getting a figure, according to Hasbro. They might release her later if she keeps coming up. It is interesting that a major character who had her own story arc didn't get a figure but a guy who shows up for one episode as a Clone drill sergeant gets his own mail in figure!

The first 2 seasons were great! The third season was a bit disappointing with a lack of obi wan and anakin skywalker. Too many peripheral characters and politic type episodes so they can sell toys of a pop smuggler and a whiskered horned character that probably won't be able to stand up straight .

Still I am hoping it gets better.

I started following the CLone wars on their website when they publish an episode , but sometimes they skip out on an episode from the previous week or so ...

I just wait till the DVD comes out.. catching up on season 1 & 2

eh, I love the clone wars and renegades. I think the character model of Savage Oppress is cool, but i don't like how they linked him to darth maul (not just by species, but saying they are of the same "line")...I mean, he's a zabrak. that's it. Whoopededoo. I also don't care much for the retconning of the clone troopers and their training, the mandalorian retcon, or the changes in the nightsisters. Other wise, its one of my favorite cartoons, bar none.

Star Wars is the perfect example of not quitting while you're ahead. They're just running it into the ground now. They're going to keep running it into the ground the same way they ran Star Trek into the ground until everybody was sick to death of it.

I don't care for that time line of Star Wars history, but the Clone Wars cartoon is really, really good.

Yah, the Night Sisters 3 parter is pretty damn cool! BUT! Season 3 of CW has had its fill of "Nothing but Padme talking" episodes too. LOL. But the CW budget probably dwarfs the Renegades budget... so it is kind of hard to fairly compare the two IMO.

Take this with a grain of salt, since I'm not a diehard Star Wars fan... but honestly, I do watch Clone Wars, but I feel no real sense of continuity.

Things happen here and there, but I don't feel the impact on the next episode. Obviously this particular 3-parter is a little bit different, but by and large I don't really remember what happened from one episode to the next.

Renegades has a very clearly defined continuity and very clear events that move the story along.

Plus, once I saw like 6 or 7 episodes with Asuka and Padme as the main characters, I kind of grew bored with the whole thing.

Renegades FTW!

I have only seen like the first 2 episodes of the Renegeades, don't know where to watch it on the internet, and I haven't seen a single episode from season 3 of the Clone Wars, but I can't wait. I own the first 2 seasons. That Savage Opress character looks awesome.

Actually Hasbro has confirmed they are making a Savage Opress figure. It was in one of the Q and A they do. I don't have a link to it and really doubt I could find it as there are several more sites that do the SW QandA than Joe. But really like someone said it really isn't that surprising that they would make a figure.

Yes. He will be appearing in plastic later this year. And Renegades doesn't hold a candle to Clone Wars.

The only female CW figure I've seen sitting around is Ahsoka.....that is because they have released basically the same figure 6 times or so....

The only SW female figures I've seen lying around at all is the fat dancer, Aunt beru (sp?), some of the comic packs, and ahsoka. I think the "female figures don't sell" argument is long past being anywhere remotely true.

Female Jedi tend to sell IMO. And I'm glad we are getting a Barriss Offee fig and they better re-release Aayla Secura too! LOL.

Must be hard for the CW writers though... they are stuck in a very small window between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. And also many characters and their characteristics are set in stone due to the canon. Renegades on the other hand can pretty much do whatever it wants.

But CW can be cool because they can go back and forth between Clone & Jedi episodes. And some of the Clone episodes have a Band of Brothers feel to them which is really cool. IMO they only get in trouble when they do Senate politics and Padme or Ahsoka specific episodes. LOL.

Cool so they're doing a Bariss Offee figure, I found 4 Aayla Secura's in one store here in Iceland, bought them all, one for me, one for my daughter and I gave the 2 remaining ones to a fellow tanker..

Why do people feel the need to compare every freakin' animated series out to Renegades. Either you like it or you don't, people.
