So here's another how'd you like it thread. Ive been bored to tears with Halo 3 and dont want to splurge for Reach yet, is ODST skipable? How long is the game and how does it differ from its predicessors. I love the look of it, but I heard someone say its super short...and I dont like short games. So what do you guys think?

I beat that level in Halo 3 where you have to drive over that platform thats trying to throw you into the abyss, took me like 20 trys and I was bored with it after that stressfull event.

Well, this is the game where Firefight debuted, so that's a plus. Campaign is a bit short though, and weapons handle differently. Basically, the gameplay is a return to Halo: Combat Evolved mechanics (sniper pistol, etc); this is by no means a bad thing, however, as it makes things more interesting and challenging, especially considering you're not a SPARTAN, but an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, which means you can't really go fisticuffs with a Brute and win.

I'd say this is a rental, rather than a buy, unless you're an achievement/collection whore like I am, in which case, it's got plenty for you, but I recommend saving for Reach.

its a really good game that introduces many aspects to halo for example if you dont wanna fight a couple brutes you can try to sneak around them and it also introduces a new open world mechanic where if you want you can just walk around killing covenant although all the walking around might get annoying and you run out of ammo really fast that pissed me off the missions you play also vary from walking around looking for clues or high action battles
