Hey everyone! I know I haven't tackled Joes in a while, I'm always line-hopping, trying to make a little bit of everything and sometimes it's a while inbetween. Here's my newest 'alterverse' GI Joe series, Into the Void. The backstory:

The year is 1942 and a mysterious 'Void' enshrouded by dark clouds has opened miles above the earth, its unearthly energies spewing into the open skies. A strange signal have been intercepted coming from it as well, beacon...or perhaps a warning? Cobra Commander followed the signal and disappeared into the Void only to return changed, both physically and mentally. Now with Cobra's headquarters a massive flying airship holding position near the Void he threatens all the world's leaders with destruction if they do not bow to his will. The Joes must take to the skies to stop Cobra before they unravel the mysteries of the Void and unleash an unstoppable force!

---------------------------------------------------
"After returning from the Void it was clear that the experience changed Cobra Commander. He had grown stronger, smarter, and more ruthless than ever before...if that was at all possible. At his command Cobra became airborne and took the battle to the skies. World War II saw another super power growing with Cobra Commander at the helm, looking forward to total world domination. Now with his army of Void Vipers raining terror down from the skies, the Joes would finally know the full wrath of Cobra!"

Cobra Commander was made from the head of a POC CC, POC Arctic Destro body, Res Destro Arms/upper legs, ROC Destro lower legs, SW Clone Emperor collar, Res CC skirt, and jetpack made from joe/iron man accessories.

------------------------------------------------

"A Void Viper's flight training is one of the most grueling and terrifying experiences on earth. Their field of battle is thousands of feet in the air leaving no room for mistake. Equipped with thick leathers both for protection from the cold and incoming projectiles, the Void Viper rockets into a fight and doesn't back down until their enemy is sent into a downward spiral or they themselves hit the earth. With the promise of Void augmentation each one has sworn himself to take to the skies for Cobra, be it to victory...or a plummeting death."

Void Viper was made from the head of a Res Red Fang ninja, ROC Stormshadow body, 25th BAT legs, ROC Sgt Flash's laser rifle, and 25h jetpack.

------------------------------------------------------

"Signing up to defend America sometimes has one taking to the skies, but never quite like this! The Void Jumpers are fearless Joes who want to battle Cobra head on and miles up in the air. With Void technology trickling in from black market sectors the Joes were able to reverse engineer their own flight packs thanks to Hi-Tech. Now donning protective gear and leaping off of the Helicarrier flight deck, the Joes are ready to bring Cobra back down to Earth! "

Void Jumper was made from the head of a Tron Legacy Black Guard, ROC Stormshadow body, POC Jungle Viper upper legs/lower arms, POC Arctic Destro lower legs, Hotwheels Custom Motors part for the jetpack. Unmasked head was from a Kade Skywalker SW figure.

I'll be making more figures for this series as the weeks go by and updating this thread. Keep an eye out and enjoy! Props if you know the general 'universe' this takes place in ;)

would it be the dark void video game?
Like the Viper and Jumper. Something tells me the storm shadow body wasn't properly used by hasbro.

Glad you all are liking them! SS's leather-jacket look was perfect for the era. I'm thinking Ghost Rider joe too.

Dark Void was an awesome game that needed to have more done with it, you guessed it!

Awesome! I thought these were based on dark Void. Every once in a while I get to work with one of the guys who was on the design team for the game. He was telling me about it the week it got released and showed me some of the game pics. I asked if he knew if there was going to be any toys released for it and he didn't know so its cool to see that somebody did something with the idea. I forwarded your site to him so he could see it as well.
The Commander has a pretty svelte look going on with him, that shoulder bit from Star Wars was a nice touch. I can't place the parts from his pack though.

Marshalls/TJ Maxx has them marked down for $2 all around here. Walmart had them on sale too. It's the launcher

wow and I thought I was the only dark void fan out there. I've been working on william for a while just haven't gotten around to sculpting his face mask detail, such a pain that is. I really like how these turned out though, great detail on them all.

I'm sure he will, he's a pretty cool guy. I don't know just what he had a hand in designing on the came just that he did some work on it. He might have some info on his site...

I have no idea what the Dark Void video game is, but I love the style here. And getting that Storm Shadow white torso to appear any other color takes a lot of prep, especially on the joints. You've accomplished it so clean. Great paint apps.
