POC Black HISS Tank V5 At ROSS

I randomly decided to check out a ROSS today, and surprisingly I found POC vehicles loaded on the shelves!
The next shocker, they were priced at $11.99 each!!!

They only had the Hisstank and the Fury stocked, about 5 of each, no Wolf Hound or VAMP. Just to be sure, I scanned the whole store for any Mechs or any other POC item and didn't see anything else.
I don't get why ROSS has POC now, is POC cancelled or is this some mistake? Anyways, I bought myself one Hisstank and two Furys.

I doubt it man. The figures seem to be selling well in comparison to vehicles. I usually see stacks of alpha vehicles and mech suits. Of the bravos, the HISS usually sells out quickest. Target didn't get any bravo vehicles and this may have played a part in ROSS getting the recent vehicles.

Just got in with my set. Love the black Hiss. It ranks in the top 5 lad vehicles for Joes and Cobras! I cannot believe how solid this thing feels. can you imagine an RC version? there were three tanks and six of the Rage. The Alley viper didnt come with a shield. bummer. The Hiss Tank Driver is dorky. So the Alley Viper gets the Hiss. Not sure about that Rage though...

I also saw PoC vehicles at my TRU (next to the Ross). Just a HISS and the Mechs. Oh, and the Hawk VTOL.

Target still has HISS tanks at full price. I am thinking this was either a good purchase by the buyer for toys at Ross, or they picked up surplus from an online store.

Either way, I am pleased with my purchases.

This can;t be a good sign...someone cancelled thier entire stock or sold it off cheap and quick to Ross for this to happen so quickly. It took them FOREVER to even start getting ROC crap after all this time around here. And now POC vehicles already appearing? And the black hiss none the less...I was hoping that the new year would bring more of the black hiss to retail...looks like that idea is shot to hell...

See what happened was Hasbro failed to say "Black HiSS Tanks" [literally spell it out] for retailers, who read the description and said, "More, of these shelf warming tanks, No tanks. Damn it, I mean 'thanks'... Damn brown turds."

So... when no one bought cases, they dumped the load on Ross. That's my theory:

Lack of communication on Hasbro's part and thus, they dropped the ball once again.

I only did one trade during the arctic hiss and stinger months back. I ended up selling it to the guy because I found the possible trade, but I'm a man of my word. We made a deal on cost, I broke even, and we were both happy. So be sure to get funds first and think about shipping.

POC seems to sell well in my area, they just need to move the old stuff, did these stores ever think of sales? I run into Joe fans all the time, same complaints "need new stuff". Plus time to move Iron Man 2 figs to a smaller area.

Hey, These are out there. picked up 10 of each one. The Fury is EXCELLENT !!! The viper figure is re paint of alley viper from POC line. Both vehicles are great though. These were found throughout LA County, Orange County, Inland Empire, plus a few other cities throughout So Cal. Best of Luck on the hunt.

I actually am a little disappointed with the fury. I love the HISS. That is the way it was meant to be done!!!!! And i want to let everyone know it doesnt indicate anything bad for the line. I think it just comes down to the stores not wanting to stock more HISS tanks since they already had them warming shelves and they knew that the fury would be coming out with the vamp and probably waited for that wave to stock ,skipping over the black hiss. Im sure they could care less that the hiss was finally the color the fans wanted. Just a poor move too late by Hasbro. They will learn from it and make money off the next wave. I agree the end is not near. The problem is shelf space for toys, especially with the holidays, odd I know. Kids are just not playing with joes like we did. The SW pegs are almost all adult except for clone wars. When I'm at a store I see and talk to adults in the toy area, were always the buyers. Their kids are looking at other stuff, like nerf guns. Until the holidays are over I think the shelves remain the same, clearance the wave 1 POC and then here comes more joes. Add in the economy too and it's all us collectors. IMO The Hub should play Joe cartoons earlier, we live in DVR age for us adults, so let kids see Joe at a regular hour.
That's my thinking at the moment, common sense or stupidity, one of the two....Plus I'm happy I got basically a 2 for 1 special, didn't need another HISS, sadly don't have the space, but I can make room.

I hate that store, it is in a crappy part of town, customers are shady as hell and the store looks like a tornado hit it, literally! The merchandise is just thrown all around the store and on the floors. I had to dig through heaps of crap to find those 2 5pks... Definitely only going back there once someone verifies them on the East Coast... I feel like my car is going to be sitting on blocks every time I walk out... and during the Family Dollar blitz, forget about it, I felt like I needed to pack heat because those stores are nestled deep in the ghetto.

I picked up a black HISS and a Fury at my SoCal Ross last night.
Plenty still available, along with Wal-Mart ROC 2 packs,
Ghosthawks, FLAKs, and some lingering ROC singles.
Lots of $2 25th Joes at the Marshall's across the street too.

This is very surreal.
I love the work Hasbro has done over the last 3 years,
and it is a blast hunting Joes at the discount stores, but it is
odd and scary to have such great stuff blown out so quickly
after the initial release. I have a 6 year old son who loves
Joes, but only because he's my kid and I have the classic comics
and Sunbow DVDs for him to enjoy. In his mind the Sunbow
stuff kills the Renegades stuff, but it is still early.
It is funny, but any revisionist story line that strays from
Larry Hama's universe bothers him. The ROC movie and
Renegades try to keep it fresh, but simply aren't as compelling
as Larry's work (or even the Sunbow universe).
Even a 6 year old can tell.

Anyways, cool deals at Ross. I hope the good tidings spread past California.

But in the back I found 4 sets of each. That's right 4 HISS and 4 Fury's on my first shot. Almost in walking distance. So I bought my 2 HISS's and left the rest. Not really a fan of the Fury at all. Day done.

Now I'm glad I didn't pay full price at Walmart or ToysRUs. I was tempted to buy just one there until I heard first, that someday they were replacing the brown ones and now its even half off as well as black. Ive got at least 6 Ross's nearby that I haven't been to, cant imaging how many tanks are around me.

Top right. The Black HISS that Hicks_Royel got from BBTS a few months back had the "31" as the last 2 digits IIRC. Anything found in the Fury revision case seems to be a safe bet.

But I plan to replace the COBRA symbols with Destro ones and use them as Iron Grenadier Speed DEMONS since the elevation mechanism of the POC HISS reminds me so much of the old school DEMON and my hundred or so IGs have no ground vehicles to speak of. :(

Thank you guys for sharing...i would have never gone. Went to the Hermitage,TN Ross and didnt see any initially. I saw a small remote helicopter and thought it was cool and reached to grab it. when i looked behind it I found a Hiss and Fury hidden.

I randomly decided to check out a ROSS today, and surprisingly I found POC vehicles loaded on the shelves!
The next shocker, they were priced at $11.99 each!!!

They only had the Hisstank and the Fury stocked, about 5 of each, no Wolf Hound or VAMP. Just to be sure, I scanned the whole store for any Mechs or any other POC item and didn't see anything else.
I don't get why ROSS has POC now, is POC cancelled or is this some mistake? Anyways, I bought myself one Hisstank and two Furys.

Just put my first Hiss V5 (black) together. and HOT DAMN!! This thing is really freakin cool. Could have stood for a couple more gun add on options but none-the-less, it is a very nice machine.

I really want to do an enviromental custom on this piece, but i'm just not sure what environment to do. ??

LOL - that same tornado apparently touched down at specific Ross locations in PHX too. ...It's almost like they open the shipping room doors and through the items to the general department where the item should go.

ESG - I found two of the HISS and two of the Fury at the 163rd St. Ross (in the mall) Northern Miami. There was still one of each when I left, so I would check back in the morning - they will probably restock and your chances will be better!

ESG - don't lose hope - only a couple of us in South FL just found them today, while the majority of the stores in my area had nothing at all. Check tomorrow and sometime this week - you'll find them! It just takes a minute to get to us out here. : )
