Toy Customizer is hosting a new Customs Contest
The contest is sponsored by:
http://toycustomizer.com/images/banners/Slayer-banner-468x60.jpg (http://slayerdesignstudio.3dcartstores.com/)
The contest theme is
Toy Line Crossover
Your task is to create a custom toy that takes the IP (intellectual property) from one toy line and uses it in another toy line. You can either recreate the toy using another line as a base, or you can somehow incorporate the concept into the "universe" of the other line. The custom may be a figure, vehicle or diorama and it MUST be a crossover of two toy lines that exist or has existed.
Construction
This contest is open to customizers of all toy lines. Since ToyCustomizer.com (http://www.toycustomizer.com) does not restrict itself to any particular toy style, your custom can be made of any type of toy or even scratch built.
There must be some sort of physical modification (sculpting, part swapping/adding) and painting.
How to Enter
• Create a post in the ToyCustomizer Finished Customs (http://toycustomizer.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=37&func=showcat&catid=7) section. Your title should start with "12/10 Contest Entry". This will help me sort through the threads.
• Post a link in the official thread (http://toycustomizer.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=37&func=view&catid=8&id=399) to your entry post.
• You must include a minimum of 4 pictures of your entry in the post. (Off-site image galleries do not count toward this minimum.)
• You must include a recipe list.
• Please indicate how long it took you to make.
• It will also help if you write a few words about the idea for your entry.
The Details
Anyone may join this contest. This includes people who just find out about my site through this contest. You can be a first time customizer or a professional. Previous winners may win again.
You are welcome to submit as many entries as you wish. If you want them considered separate entries, they should be in separate posts. Please note that multiple entries will be pre-voted and consolidated down to the "best" one for final entry.
Entries are due January 8th, by 11:59pm EST.
Your entry must be made for this contest alone.
You may not enter anything that has been previously posted here or posted elsewhere. Once you post it at ToyCustomizer.com (http://www.toycustomizer.com) for the purposes of the contest, you may post them elsewhere to promote your entry. To remain qualified, any off-site posts may not be a full gallery (1 or 2 pics maximum) and MUST include a link back to your official entry at Toy Customizer.
Prizes
All valid entrants will get a mini prize pack from Slayer Design Studios (http://slayerdesignstudio.3dcartstores.com/).
That's right, you get something cool just for submitting a valid entry! The parts are randomly determined, although they are scaled for 3 3/4" figures.
If you are not a 3 3/4" customizer, let me know when you post your entry. (I'll see what can be done.)
A first place entrant will be determined, from a list of finalists. That entrant will receive an larger prize package from Slayer Design Studios (http://slayerdesignstudio.3dcartstores.com/).
How to Qualify for the Win (i.e. How Not to Suck)
Post only clear detailed images. Blurry images take a lot away from the entry. On the same note, small phone images don't help either. Use an image resizer to cut, crop and resize your images so that we mostly see your entry not your dirty laundry hanging in the background. Thematic photos are a big plus. Note that your entry is rated on Presentation!
Be creative. Think outside the box! Try to do something that has not been done before. If your idea seems rehashed you may score low in "Creativity". Unique ideas score higher!
Put some effort into it! Toy Customizer members will vote on your paint and Form, so lack of effort will show, and they will rate you low for it.
Please mind the rules so your entry is not disqualified. As of this contest, failure to meet qualifications will get you disqualified unless you can correct the issue. When in doubt, ask me.
Good Luck and please spread the word!
