It's just red fabric rolled and sewed. Can't open it up.

Nice! Can you tell us if you are satisfied with the purchase?
One of the best released to date. Nothing I can complain about this figure.

I'm waiting for my Exclusive to process which should be later this week. I can't wait for this figure. This one and Firefly are my favorites so far.

For all the money those things cost, couldn't they have made a removable mask? He's not SE or CC. It's not like we haven't seen Beachhead without it.

I think that would make him look like a 20.00 dollar figure you get at wal mart. no thanks i like it the way it is.

That's why Sideshow offered an Exclusive version with the alternate portait.

Exclusive and Regular are shipped together, I don't know why people kept saying the exclusive are shipped later. weird.

The head looks too "plastic" for my tastes. Maybe if they could've simulated some fabric on his baclava similar to Snake Eyes', it would've been more appealing. It just looks like a 3 3/4" head on a 1/6 scale body.

WhiteHawk, glad to see you've decided to continue the Sideshow reviews for this line....I look forward to them now. I like the figure more than I first thought, they fixed the head sculpt a bit. I'm still not a fan of the whole plastic-looking head, but I guess it can't be perfect.

Actually a sculpted balaclava works better than a clothed one, just look at Snake Eyes with the over sized head.
-
It wouldn't make sense too if they decided to go with a clothed one, isn't Sideshow proven for their sculptors and sculpting skills?

If not a clothed head, then do at least a partial "felt" surface mask. I have to agree with Mr. Gone up above. It just looks to plastic looking of a head.

Felt is one of the worst materials to be used on a toy, actually the sculpted mask looks good on the figure if you have it on hand.
Actually I think why Sideshow went for the sculpted route is because of their skills. Why would they want to release a clothed mask that you can remove since the rubber bands holding the mask will get loose someday (Like the bands on my Snake Eye's arms). Sideshow sculpt the masked on because it will look better than a clothed one. I don't really like a sewed one on my 1/6 head because it'll make their heads look enormous. If they release Storm Shadow and Beachhead with a fabric mask. They will look more like a kitbash rather than a Sideshow release. You wouldn't want to pay premium for a kitbash right?

I agree with you. To make a tight fabric mask look good it pretty much has to be on a bald headsculpt and even then it's tough. I'm pretty envious of your collection too.

Sculpted looks fine to me. Problem with cloth is that they might not be able to achieve the desired look, as it often looks over-scaled. I suspect this would have been the case here.

I never said anything about cloth/felt....but they could have made the sculpt look a bit more realistic.
once again, WhiteHawk, keep the reviews coming, they are awesome!

I'm a huge Beach Head fan and I love this figure. I have always been curious about something though.........why does he have a RED beret?

a Red Beret is normally from a parachute or airborne regimen and sometimes people from an elite or special forces wears that. And Beachhead has that beret since the first release.

Hi Whitehawk. I just got mine today and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how the backpack is supposed to be attached to the Vest. i don't see any rings for the bottom clips of the backpack to attach to and the upper rings are so spread out.
Anyone else who has one, can they show a close up of the back of the vest and how they attached the backpack (I may have a defective vest if there are supposed to be attachment points.)

The bottom clips are supposed to attach to the MOLLE belt I believe. That’s what I did with mine.

I'm currently looking for little steel rings and bend them here.

Like what I do to Duke's goggles. I think sideshow missed out on that part on the back of the vest

The clips are at the top of the vest, right behind where you put the beret.

Whitehawk! Again, you are the man!! I totally wait until your figure reviews come until I make my purchase.
Question: Are his boots 1 whole piece? Or are the wrap-arounds on the ankles separate like Firefly's?
Thanks again for a stellar review!!
