Too damn short.
Really feels more like an expansion pack than a true sequel.
Anyone else disappointed by the lack of content in this game's story?

I rented the first one and didn't like it at all. I thought for sure I was getting this one because of the awesome cinematic trailer they had for the game, but all the reviews are saying it is basically just a much improved rehash of the first game, but this time it only has 6 hours of playthrough with an uninspired story to boot. What a waste... thought this one was going to be epic for sure.

I went into gamestop to pick it up but the guy working said it wasn't worth it at full price because of how short it was. I'll wait for it to drop to $29.99 or lower before picking it up. :(

I'm also not pleased with the fact that on Hard I still pretty much owned the boss fights.
Visually, the game is incredible. And the potential for a great game is there. They just didn't take the time to do things correctly.

short and repetitive. i traded in a few games for it so i didnt pay cash at least. of course i wasted it on the collector's edition too. ugh! just hope we get some figures out of it as some of the costumes were cool.

Borrowed it from a friend and beat it in less than 4 hours. Slicing up Stormtroopers and pushing them off 20 mile high ledges is fun but that's really about it. The story just starts getting interesting right when it end. I mean c'mon! WTF?!. The only other real plus for this game were the Sith Acolytes and Saber Guards were cool looking and fun too fight. Imo this game is worth $19.99 new max for how short it is.

He's said to be a clone in this one. The whole plot of TFU2 was to find out whether or not this Starkiller was infact a clone or the real deal which by the way is never really answered.

Also another huge flaw in this game
SPOILER ALERT!!!
At the end fight when you battle Vader on the platform, there are huge currents of electricity sparkling everywhere, that should have destroyed Vader's life support system and killed him. Also during the fight Vader used the electrical currents to generate lightning which again should have fried his life support system and killed him and whats worse, at the end of the fight, Starkiller unleashes a huge wave of Force Lightning that wold have made the Emperor blush and it still didn't kill Vader, just weakend him. Wtf?

Well god damn it, so the whole premise of the game is to figure out who he is but the player just can't? Damn..I bet there is an ULTIMATE edition coming out with more episodes for a more complete game..just like what happened to the 1st game.
I bet Starkiller isn't a clone, and that Vader just fucked up his mind to make him his bitch again.

This game is shorter than the first. I beat this in under 4 hours. You only visit 3 different planets (one twice) and a level on a big Rebel Ship. Degobah wouldn't even count as a level. The first game still took me a decent 5 hours to beat my first playthrough. As Hicks said this felt more like an expansion or something rather than a full game.
As for the Starkiller being a clone or not it doesn't say one way or another. It leaves it up to the player to decide whether he is or not.
Hicks_Royel
11-10-2010, 05:24 AM
Yeah, I was hoping for a much more indepth attempt by Starkiller to find out if he is or isn't a clone. Instead, he goes off half cocked after Juno when she's captured by Boba Fett [who you don't even fight]. This leads you back to Vader, who I whipped like a sick puppy, and his army of half developed [yet fully clothed in cloning tube] Starkiller clones.
In a way, I do hope a more complete game comes out. In another, I'd better get a discount or refund having bought this 4 hour sidetrip.
Know what hasn't sucked though? God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

I can tell how short this game is and how little replay value it must have by all the used copies my local video games store already has for sale. LOL. Only a few days after it first came out there were already 4 used copies for sale there... I have never seen this happen before for any other game.

I enjoyed the game, but I mean, theres not much in the way of multiple paths or anything to offer replay value. Beat it once, it gives a option for two diff endings, that's it.You see both of them, then its on to the next game. Still, it was great while it lasted, I had alot of fun playing it.
TheSerpentKing
11-14-2010, 09:35 PM
It's a fun game but it ends just when it get's interesting and honestly, both Yoda and Boba Fett felt like they were just put there only to entice people to buy it. Other than that I don't think the game would have missed either of them since the had very little screen time and really didn't serve the overall story. But like I said the game is just too damn short. A game this short has no buisness costing $60. The Minerva's Den Add-on to Bioshock 2 for $10 took me longer to beat that than the entire TFU2 game. I don't expect all games to be 20hrs long but I do expect to get at least a good 5 or 6 hours of gameplay my first playthrough plus some decent replay value for $60.

I have heard that the plot for SWFU2 was cut in half, and this game is essentially the first half of it. I think the business model for this game sucks...the first SWFU had the whole game, and the DLC was actual added content. Basically extras. This game is unfinished, and i have heard that the DLC for SWFU2 is stuff that was planned to be part of the game already, but was cut and will be offered as DLC for extra revenue.

I think pretty soon that is how most games are going to be like; they are trying to defeat the used game market by offering more stuff as DLC.

That's horse shit if it turns out to be true. Anyway... I'm gonna send Lucasarts an email asking if I got a demo disc by mistake and se what kinda response I get.
Oh, and I've seen a couple of ads now one with Vader being slammed through the bulking of a ship and another with them duking it out in a forest... Now Lucasarts has them standing on what looks like Hoth. Are these levels I didn't get in some sorta DLC?
I hate DLC.

So, I'm hoping tech support does me a favor and gets this to the concerned parties.
So the game I played was maybe 3.5 - 4 hours long total. I'm thinking I may've gotten a demo disc by mistake. Maybe it's some kinda glitch. What I do know is that the scene with Vader and Starkiller I see in the commercials on television never happened in my game.
Anyway, it kinda sucks as I spent the money to buy the Collector's Edition and 4 hours of gameplay really doesn't justify the 80 bucks. I'm hoping you all didn't screw me over. Just saying.
Anyway, forgive me if this is the wrong forum but your site isn't the easiest to navigate and this was the first place I could find to drop an email. Please forward if necessary to correct location. I think it's the least you could do since I'm still out nearly 65 dollars if you deduct the time I spent playing from my costs. Thanks for your time.
As for the rest of you, I encourage you to voice your opinions to Lucasarts as well. Discussing it here is great to warn others, but they'll never know if we don't become direct about it.

Bad news guys. The first one SUCKED!!!!!
It had TONS of potential, but it was a freakin' guided walk-through with enemies that you didnt actually "fight" (the friggin' button commands come up on the screen TELLING you to press "X"). Just flat out terrible design.
It COULD HAVE been so awesome, but they frigged it up. Why not just use side scroll for cristsake. I was REALLY let down with that game. And Im screwed by living where I do: We dont have a place to rent stuff and GameFly is a bunch of BS, so I basically have to buy games. I read good reviews and popped on it for full price. What a buzz kill.
Again, if you guys are saying the first one was awesome but this one sucks, I think Ill pass even at $20 bucks. Im sick of getting the shaft from games. Id rather pay $60 for GT5 or GTA: At least those games are nearly infinite, and at my age, Ive got too much going on to be spending HOURS in front of a video game. If I play a 3 hours a week, thats a lot.
What I want to know is when the hell are they going to make a new Ace Combat already!!!!!! That was one of the first games I had on PS1 and Ive had every one on the system since. Its been too damn long since a new one came out.

Honestly, think about it: The first was a guided walk-through. You couldnt do ANYTHING on your own, and it was just following the path, cutting down everything in your way. If you like old-time arcade style games (which I do) then you liked the first, which I did. But lets be honest for a minute: Compared to other games out there even on PS1 (Resident Evil) it was horrible. It was an arcade cut-'um-up and thats it. It was a fun game to play, but only "FUN". There was no challenge, no choosing your path, etc. Just walk along, swing the light saber, meet a "boss" and press the buttons when the game told you to. Really!? Thats a great game!? Lets be honest, Zelda on NES had better game play guys.
I feel like they milked me with awesome graphics and a "Star Wars" title. Thats all.

Come on, who doesn't like mindless button mashing and pretty graphics? I enjoy a good story and exploration like the next guy but to say the first game wasn't good simply because it was simplistic is really underrating a decent combat system and unique manipulation devices.
I mean, I personally loved the fight sequence with the little Junk world Jedi and sucking storm troopers out into space through broken view ports.
And its still better than any number of FP Shooters on the market anymore. Halo is overraterd.

Hicks: I admitted I loved the first, but Im just saying, its not like its the greatest game ever....that some make it out to be. I had a lot of fun playing it, but I would MUCH prefer something along the lines of a GTA, Resident Evil or Tomb Raider. The platform is there, why they made it they way they did is beyond me. When I saw the first preview for the second one (on some SpikeTV show) I though, "No way am I buying it without playing it like I did the first."
I didnt REGRET buying the first, I regretted paying as much as I did for it. Its an AWESOME game.....at the $20-$30 dollar price point, but NO WAY is it a $50-$60 dollar game, and thats what I paid.
As for FPS's, I havent played many of the new ones. I used to play SOCOM like a madman, but since buying my PS3 just over 2 years ago now, I havent really played any. Ive never played HALO.

Indeed which is why I rarely pay full price for games anymore. I refuse to to pay game companies that release a half assed games a full $60. The first level was fun as heck... Kamino was pretty and the gameplay was fun, but damn it gets repetitive and boring super fast. And the boss battles try so hard to be like God of War, but it just ends up feeling overly tedious. Pretty damn short game too, but since you pretty much fight the same baddies over and over again that is probably a good thing.

Best part of the game was the Endor "What If" DLC.
I like the storyline, the graphics, and the inherent fun in really ruining a whole lot of peoples' days with the Force and a couple lightsabers, but yes, it's a very thin game.
The Vader boss fight was much better in this one, though.
And I -do- wish Lucasarts would figure out what the heck is going on over there and at least finish out the trilogy. Or at the very least they need to write a book or something that explains what the heck happened.

Love the Endor DLC... especially on what you can do to the Ewoks. Unfortunately unless something changes, I do not think that there will be a follow up to this game. I heard that Lucasarts parted ways with the developer.
The game had potential, but I think Lucas and the developer had the "good enough" syndrome. Meaning that instead of making the game bigger and better than the original like Arkham City did, they added the dual light sabers and a little bit more force powers and thought that was enough to satisfy the game public.
My biggest complaint on it, is how short it is. I loved the Kamino world and Cato Nemodia was not bad. I just wish that it was a much, much longer game.
I agree Jmacq, this needs to have an ending. Not only to finish out the trilogy, but also I hope they do a DLC in Naboo so we can kill some Gungans much like the Ewoks on the Endor DLC, and the Jawas on the Tatooine DLC (SWFU I).

It's short, but it's not -that- short. Unless you're running through the game with a "maxed out" character (which means you'd have to have played through the game already to get there) and skipping every cutscene and collectible there's no way you'd beat it in an hour.

Ok I'm new to this game, and I am stuck at this point in the Kamino Escape where I am outdoors and there are three circular platforms all connected and what LOOKs to be a bridge of some sort I can't get over this gap for the life of me its way to far to jump...I'm just stuck there....there are the diamond things I thought might be controls but they do nothing near as I can tell.
