Meh, not so sure about that... Who knows though, I've seen some of the movie-worn stuff go pretty high on Ebay.

does this mean a re imagining of the viper again? i mean this is an original...not a replica...so if they're selling it does this mean the turtle viper toy mold is dead?

i'm thinking no...but i'm hoping yes

Please say these ugly ass vipers are done with...they were ridiculous IMO.

Uhhh, it's just a movie costume for auction. It's no indication one way or another that these designs will continue on into future films.

Even though the figures were mostly meh (I did buy two), that costume is not bad. The boots and mask are the high points imo.

The figure starts to look decent when you replace the head IMO.

But my guess is that Turtle viper will be replaced by new viper. Its a GI Joe tradition.

Well I see this as four possibilities...

1) The new film might have a redesign on the Viper costume...don't get to happy at that idea. A redesign could mean anything from a completely new concept (which could be easily just as disappointing) or it could be a more classic look.

2)The new film's Vipers may have been tweaked slightly, so that while its not EXACTLY the same, but modified enough that it warrented new ones made...remember each Batman film has had a differant suit (which may also be a toy marketing thing).

3)Studios some times let this stuff go on purpose to generate some buzz for a film (or in this case maybe the upcoming cartoon)...remember they make a few of most costumes, so the dozen or so we saw onscreen there may have been a dozen or so more.

4)Cash and I think this is the least likely thought...RoC made money but it didn't do blockbuster money.

Either way for the fan that can afford it, nice haul.

I think the costume is much better than the figure. On the figure, I didn't like how the forearm pads were connected to the wrists, on the movie costume they are entirely separate. Not to mention, the mask sculpt is much better than the toys', same with the Viper Commando.

I actually dig this costume allot... And that's kinda weird because I couldn't stand the figures. I guess it just didn't translate well into 1:18 scale. Could be because of the amount of detail in the actual costume.

I already own costumes of Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael. If I win this auction, I'll have the complete set.

this version of the viper is priced way too high....

Neovipers are like your drunk uncle that's obnoxious and curses in nice restaurants, embarrassing you....you have to tolerate them because they're family....you just don't like to think about it....

I would where it. Home, Parties [Casual and Formal], Work, Weddings, Funerals...

Odd, if it gets more than 2.5 grand, it'll earn more than the movie opening day.

I know what at least one tanker is going to be for Halloween next year. I do hope a tanker gets it. We could all pool our money together and share it, but no going commando in it. Free balling in the communal costume is not cool.

Unless I get the abilities to
"Have no fear"
"Feel No Pain"
And also receive a Baroness to completely subjugate myself to...aint worth it.

I would totally buy it. Then I'll use it as a disguise to infiltrate the set of GI Joe 2. All I need is to get close enough to Sommers to give him a swift kick in the nuts. That would give me a lot of pleasure. :)

Meh, now you can be your own turdle viper...I am sure somone is going to jump on that just to say "I went there".

It would be cool to see these things never to appear in anything with the GI JOE lable again. Thing is, all they need to do is replace the turtle shell with proper looking modern body armor, get rid of the stupid plasma repulsor gun and replace it with either an AK-74 or SCAR and tint the uniform in a little blue and grey camo, ditch the turtle head for a kevlar helmet and a red/black balacava, and place a silver or red cobra sigil on it somwhere and you got yourself something badass...

But alas well see what ROC 2.0 brings us... I am sure Crimson Neo Vipers since Darth Commander will be building a death star next...
