i really like him, but to me the harness was the most important part of making a Zap or a Short-Fuze...i like the different body pieces, nice to see others takes on cutoms http://www.hisstank.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6541&highlight=25th

Thanks for the Complimets Eddie, as it was your ZAp and other figs that inspired me to start customs..... Yeah the harness was the only thing I was not happy about, I was going to wait and use a clutch Figures Web Gear...Do you have any ideas where a good harness may be found?
as far as the head its, a Briggs Head from the SW 30th line.... That the stach was perfect for that latino look...like me j/k.....

figure looks good, loose the WWII style bazooka though.
A nice TOW missle would look REALLY cool. :)

I used the Biggs head on my Zap as well. Here's my version of Zap.The action shot was my first attempt and I realized he still needed some work, redoing the harness really improved the figure. The solo shot of him is my most current. The testor acrylic modelmaster paint works pretty good as well, I wasnt having any luck with the enamel paint.

yeah enamels are a no-no. ALWAYS use acrylic paints. good stuff from testors, tamiya, etc. not the craft paints from walmart. (delta, etc.)
use a good brush (not the testors white handle ones... more you spend on them the better)
and just use light even coats.
jin saotome has a great tutorial on painting.

Do you have any ideas where a good harness may be found?...
the harness that myself and sgt dude have used is just youe standard joe harness that has been modified...we cut the bottem waist part off and then, at least in my case, not sure if sgt did it the same way, i took the four ends and pulled them back to a point and glued the clasp from the waist portion of the belt to the four ends so that the new chest harness can still be removed...

That's not a bazooka, it's a panzershrek and as such very distinctive.
I'd suggest Marauder Joe. He's got a 'zook that looks to be a little later than WWII, but not so modern as to look wrong on an O13 figure. (In my opinion, of course.)

I think that's what sarjeant dude is using in his pics.

OK guys I have updated my Zap... I modofed the Bazzooka for now, and took a stab at painting a Joe for the Very first time. So here are the results... I know I should have primered first, but I am a noob..... .Also tried cutting the harness, but I dont think I cut it right...http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f22/pvellos/Gi%20Joes/th_DSC_3889.jpg (http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f22/pvellos/Gi%20Joes/DSC_3889.jpg)

you cut it just fine, just not enough...you have to also cut the other part off too, as low as possible while just retaining the over the shoulder straps...YOU WANT ALL THE LENGTH YOU CAN GET!...also, i cut out the little piece that crosses over between the two straps and moved it down a little...when you cut and glue i'd recomend super gluing and some kind of small clamp to hold it and dry...
