View Full Version : Cobra Command Structure

So as a follow-up or addition to my first "project of boredom and curiosity" i present the Cobra Command Structure
who answers to whom...who controls what...who gets shot when things go wrong?
The attachment shows nearly every known faction and associate of cobra...i say nearly because one in particular that isn't listed are the "night creepers" they worked for too many different people that they would be listed all over the map. I am sure there are others but this gives a rough idea about "who's in charge"
Doted boxes represent place holders (copperhead, Major Bludd) for when they are employed under contract of Cobra
Doted lines represent "associate power" where as solid lines represent "absolute power"(of course there are always overrides from a superior)
thicker boarders represent rank/status.
Your input is greatly appreciated and welcome...the collective mind of the tank could greatly improve the accuracy of this project
and if you haven't seen the "promotion chart"

These seem out of place to me:
Scrap Iron is definitely associated with M.A.R.S.
I also thought Wraith was associated with Destro?
I also think there should be crossovers between intelligence--> R&D<-- Biological division with Dr. Venom being the intersection.
Though I agree that someone actually constructes/maintain those complicated systems, and would be involved with BAT maintainence, I'd re-assign the Techno Vipers to the Space forces.
If anything needed high tech support, it would be that.
They did made a Star Brigade Techno Viper after all.
I dunno, if it was mis-celled, but isn't a Star Viper a space pilot? And Where are the BAAT and Black Star?
Range Vipers: I see them as temperate woodland troopers closer to Rock Vipers than Jungle Vipers.
I'd also re-assign Copperhead into the Jungle Swamp division. He is a swamp boat pilot, not really an open water guy.
Whose to say Raptor isn't a Crimson Guard? or CG accounting instructor? He was close enough to know Fred was?
I like to think of Crystal Ball as a behind the mirror consultant where the prisoner doesn't know he is there and trained the Interrogators.

I don't know a thing about Dr Venom...only what was on his figure filecard.
and yeah i need to add more "associate power"
as for the technical that's the tech command...it isn't that they only work on bats. techno vipers work on any/everything
the bats fall under dr mindbender which is head of R&D and yeah scrap iron is associated with MARS so i need to make him a dotted box rather than a solid box
star vipers are upper atmosphere pilots according to their filecard don't actually enter "space" they are strato vipers with shunt implants...though i guess they could go bothways...need to research that useless stiletto.
blackstar good catch he's on my spreadsheet as a "non cobra asset" to wild weasel.
range vipers...on my flow chart of promotion
cobra recruit > soldier > swamp rat > swamp viper > range viper > jungle viper
reading the range viper it seemed like a logical place...however given that mountain ops only have rock vipers...i can see how this might be a better fit...however my dilemma is now...is a rock viper more specialized than a range viper or less?
meaning which is the prerequisite for the other? if i change it on this chart i've got to reflect the change on my other
Raptor...is he a CG? sure i guess he could be a consultant of somekind but i always thought as a kid that figure was zartan's twin brother...so i don't know anything about him other than what i've learned on the tank.
crystal ball i agree with you...he's over all interrogators
Cobra Commander > Baroness > Crystal Ball > Interrogators
Thanks for the feedback...looks like i've got more research to do :)

Rock Vipers file card has a lot of words, but not much info.
In my opinion, I'd say Rock beats Range.
I'd assume they would need wilderness training to survive in the mountains?
I dunno about Blackstar. Before reading his file card, I assumed he was just a Cobra space trooper, but it hints of him being an alien, so I dunno...

In the original Marvel comics, Dr. Venom was almost exactly like how Dr. Mindbender was portrayed. He made the brainwave scanner, boilogical weapons, etc...
He was responsible for injecting a virus into Cobra Officer Scarface, which killed him.

No Decimator... I'm hurt. Also, I think Interrogator is a stand alone character rather than a Trooper.
The funny thing, I can see Cobra Commander having this hanging up in his office to keep track.

Scarface didn't die from the virus. Didn't he die in the Joe prefab fortress?
The Dreadnoks are out of order. Zarana should be above Zandar Buzzer above Torch and Ripper. Copperhead should not be there. Your missing Zanya and Burnout.

I like it! What program did you use to create that? I could use something like that for work.

all of this is based off of my "flow chart" listed in my sig...which i see i left that out.
and yes technically interrogator is an individual...however i prefer them to be a viper type and generic
As far as Dr Venom goes...would he be above mindbender or below?
and blackstar isn't cobra he's just an associate like firefly or wraith
Copperhead i thought was a dreadnok...or was one...still is...not sure
my dreadnoks are not listed in order of seniority...they're listed in the order i remembered them :P Zartan is the only clear leader the others rotate in and out based on...who knows what.
the program i used is google's version of Visio its listed on http://docs.google.com it's called "drawings" if you like using that you'll love visio pro
thank you all for your feedback :)

Venom and Mindbender are most likely equals one just kinda took over where the other left off, right?
Copperhead is contracted by Cobra and just hangs out with the Dreadnoks when in town, so to speak.
That'll all get corrected by someone more diehard than me though.
And again, Decimator. Show some love, man!
LOL
What is up with your thumb?
Cut it. But its all better now.

I like this but shouldn't interrogator be under interrogation or something along those lines i also like to think Mindbender fits into that category too cool list nonetheless
