Seven hurt in 'G.I. Joe' mishap in Prague: police
9 hours ago

PRAGUE (AFP) — Seven people were injured Saturday in a collision between a bus and several cars during the filming of "G.I. Joe" in the centre of Prague, police and emergency services said.

Video seen on the private Nova television channel showed the bus, and then other vehicles, being hit by an all-wheel-drive vehicle that appeared to have braking problems.

"It happened in a closed area that was rented out to the filmmakers for the weekend," said Prague police spokeswoman Eva Brozova.

Jirina Ernestova, spokeswoman for the emergency services, said the injured were treated in hospitals in the Czech capital.

"According to my information, there were only slight injuries," said David Minowski from the local production house Stilling Films.

Directed by Stephen Sommers, "G.I.Joe" -- starring Channing Tatum, Dennis Quaid and Sienna Miller -- is a live-action feature based on the eponymous action figure that is due out in August 2009.

In April 2002, a stuntman from the United States was killed in Prague during the filming of the Rob Cohen action film "Triple X".

That doesn't sound too bad.

Not bad at all, ... except the movie itself.
Nevertheless i hope the movie will not be delayed... or simply stopped.

I never knew that. So when Luke is hanging upside down in the Wampa's cave, are those real scars on his face?

I never knew that. So when Luke is hanging upside down in the Wampa's cave, are those real scars on his face? Yep. Mark Hamill was in a car accident between filming the first and second films.

lol...I knew about Mark Hamill's car wreck and the scars and what not...but I never noticed Harrison mouthing Fisher's lines to her.

That's almost as hilarious as her having an acid flashback during the first film when Luke and Leia are swinging across the Death Star Chasm. Rumor is she was supposed to be shooting during the swing, not burying her head into Luke's chest.

She was pretty hot for a druggy back then :)

Yeah, thats real scarring that Mark hammil suffered from a car accident. The wampa was always in the movie, but it was added to that scene to explain the scaring. It was explained in an interview with George Lucas.

Seven people were hurt when a bus and several cars collided during filming of the "G.I.Joe" movie in Prague this past Saturday. Video reports from the private Nova television channel showed the bus being hit by a vehicle that appeared to have problems with its breaks.

"It happened in a closed area that was rented out to the filmmakers for the weekend," said Eva Brozova, a Prague police spokeswoman.

David Minowski from the local production house Stilling Films Reported that the injuries were all minor
