Why pick such a narrowly focused title for this volume? If anything, "Cobra Stops the World" grabs more attention and keeps with the theme of Joe vs. Cobra in the old show.

Yes, The season sets released by Shout! Factory have ALL of the Sunbow episodes, so all Sunbow episodes are out already.

I already have all the box sets. No need for this. Now if it were Operation Dragonfire, that might be different. The DIC series is pretty bad overall, but it still needs to be released on DVD.

I agree with JediKnutt on this-The box sets are superb so what's the logic of releasing these?
I hope that eventually we see Operation Dragonfire & all the other DIC episodes released on Dvd in the future.

I don't see how 8 episodes for $10 is such a bargain when the whole season is only $20.

My thoughts exactly. Hope Shout Factory doesn't ruin the property by over saturating the market with G.I. Joe DVD volumes.

Since I have the locker set already I'll pass. Maybe it would have been sweet to make a dvd/figure pack with this. Then I would prob pick it up

I have to give a shout out(no pun intended)to Shout Factory.I have Season 1.2-1.3 and the video quality is amazing. It looks like the episoed were made recently. As for this Single DVD,1.2 does have the Twenty Questions Episode on it.So,this will be a pass for me.

Maybe because that episode gave us these sweet quotes:

"Who plays the fool now, Destro?"
"Destroy the foundation, and the rest comes tumbling down."
"Anyone can use a weapon, but the ninja IS a weapon. Behold!"

My guess is that thia is simply done to have an impulse buy sitting alongside the movie in the "new releases" section in stores.

Season 2 is the only whole season set for $20. You can only get 1/3 of season 1 for around $20 since they released 3 season sets of season 1

Pretty much, Mill Creek does this with many titles they've sub-contracted from other DVD makers. I've seen them make these same sets for Dungeons & Dragons, 2000 He-Man, etc...

If they're naming this after Zartan...shouldn't he be on the cover?

I think they're naming it after the first episode on the DVD, not Zartan himself. Although I wouldn't mind seeing the old FHE artwork for Countdown For Zartan on the cover of this :)

This is an odd thing, releasing this at half the price of a full season, but it's good if it gets anyone back into JOE, or lets them feel that nostalgia of watching something from their youth. Also, it's a way for Hasbro to milk that GI COW some more! YO PROFITS!
(Which is how we get all that new POC stuff, so can't complain there!)
