Sweet Jeebus that's cool. You should show us the full Python patrol vehicle set when you're done. If you want. It would be great to see it all in a Dio story too! That's a lot of time and effort.

Faceless, we were all beginners at one time. Sure, you'll mess up a few toys here & there....but that's why you start out with stuff you don't really care about.
I never thought I'd be able to make a custom of anything...and now I have god knows how many custom vehicles. You should try it some time, man, it's addictive! :D

Trust me...I found some of my earlier customs, there is a world of difference from my first one to my latest.
I too was once in that mind set...not sure if I can do it. Luckily...PTE, WP and Bass Pro Shop items I found...and they became test subjects.
It takes some time and effort...but when you can get to the point of creating something you picture in your mind...its awesome.
The side effect to it is:
you find yourself walking just about every toy aisle in a store...looking at items and saying to yourself: "Hmm..with some paint and armament...that would look pretty damn cool." LOL

That is awe-inspiring. I'm sure it's been asked, but HOW the hell did you get that scales effect?

Nylon Mesh bags...called "Sweater Bags". I found them in the housewares dept. of a local dept. store. They are basically a nylon mesh bag with a zipper on them...that is supposed to be used to throw garments in and put in the washer/dryer.
I just cut them on the seams so I have a nice large piece of mesh to work with.
