Help with the Land, Sea & Air 12 inch 3 pack.

My son and I were in Tucson today (a 50 min ride from home). After finding zilch at Toys R Us we ran next door to Ross on a lark and found the Land, Sea & Air 12 inch 3 pack for $ 24.00. Too good a deal to pass up so we grabbed them. Now the down side is my son opened them up in the car and I can't seem to attach the .50 cal to the tripod, I don't know if we are missing something or what the problem is, nor can I found a review anywhere, can anyone help?
