old threads

i have no real idea about the tech behind these boards, but i have to ask a question, despite my admitted ignorance.

on the left side of the front page, there are selected threads to jump to.

what determines which threads are featured on the sidebar?

as i type this, the "casting call: who should play zartan?" thread/poll is in the sidebar.

IMO, this thread is moot. is it possible to just have current threads in the sidebar, keeping this older info archived and subject to being found in a search if need be?

just curious as to how it all works.

Hey GH, the side bar pertains to threads that have been recently posted in.

As someone recently posted in that Zartan thread, it appears on the side bar. The title of that area is "recent posts".
