View Full Version : Vehicles Custom Cobra Type-98 Tank

Another World Peace Keepers Big Lots nab I went to work on. Dremeled out the molded driver hatch area and fit a seat with controls inside the area where the driver would sit. Removed the extra fuel drums from the back, did a couple layers of red, did the side armor plates in a couple layers of black, then applied a nice grungy dirty wash to give the appearance its been in some nasty weather/terrain during an attack run. Went with the red & dirty wash because I wanted something to go with my Crimson Hisstank/Asp set since they had a dirty wash applied already. Added barb wires (removable) to the front area near the driver, to help keep those pesky Joes from attempting a tankjacking.

looks good, i would have liked it better in an urban themed deco, or something more traditionally cobra (blue, black).

Points for the shock-and-awe factor of lawyers in tanks though...mad scary!!

You know, funny you mention that, I did consider doing it in the color scheme of the Sears Cobra C.A.T., but changed my mind since I decided I wanted this to go with the red Hisstank/Asp set.

Useless trivia: The "bar" in the back is actually a log.

Not a big fan of the Blue/Black/Red Cobra mentality, but it's a marked improvement over the factory paint.

WAS gonna pick this up today. Decided to wait, got the helicopter instead. Their stuff is pretty cool

BY the way, another thread on here said that the paint might contain lead on the tank and or any other vehicles. beware

Yeah, on the back of the packages the the toys have stickers stating they contain lead. Not really concerned. What toys didn't when I was growing up? :P


Looks like Warpath. Looks great! Do the treads work or does it have "boogie wheels" like so many Joe vehicles?

All the wheels work freely, and the treads fit on just perfectly due to the solid design. If you see one of these, Id say nab it. It really is worth owning, even if you dont plan to mod the sucker. All together the work I put in on this one was about 6 hours total. Didnt take too long, and the payoff was a nice solid tank for the Crimson Guards that can strike fear into the Mobat and Mauler drivers.

Outstanding!! I like to keep my Joe universe close to real world and your tank is perfect. Cobra would most certainly use Chinese or Russian tanks to keep the locals in line or give the Joes something to think about.
I just got a T90 (True Heroes line) at toys r us and I'll soon try my hand at customizing. What scale is it by the way.
