Day of the Dead Remake

I know there a few Zombie Movie lovers here and finally the movie was released(straight to dvd release). When I first saw the previews, I was dissapointed cuz it didn't seem as if they were staying true to the original, but to my suprise they did. And I actually liked the movie. I mean it does have a few cheesey moments, but overall, it was kinda cool. I thought the zombie in the Dawn of the Dead Remake were fast, but the zombies in Day of the Dead are kicked up a notch, I mean not only are they fast, but they're smarter, stronger, and jump high and climb walls, like Spiderman. And Mena Suvari is kinda hot in a Resident Evil Alice kinda way.

Is it as bad as any of the "House of the dead" movies?

I will see this. Im a huge Zombie fan... the original day of the dead is one of my favorites. I hope this is good. btw I saw Diary of the Dead and it rules.. check it out.

love zombie movies, hated the Dawn of the Dead remake, so I have no faith in this one if it couldn't even manage to make it to a single theatre.

More of the traditional slow zombie fan myself but the trailers look cool. Did the movie bring back the "Bub" zombie in the remake? I always thought a zombie that can not only remember who they are but operate weapons is scarier than the new "spiderman" zombie.

I thought it was ok and it really didn't stay close to the original, Dawn of the Dead remake was by far one of the best zombie movies ever made.

have u seen the 1978 original... that movie totally owns the new one in every way... sooo much gorier and the story line is a lot better.

It was enjoyable, and had a few nods to the original. But I wouldn't consider it a remake in any way. It's just a good, fun zombie flick.

Deanhp are you nuts? I've seen it a million times!! Ken Foree is the f'ing man. Yes the original was better but the newer one was far more entertaining! It's like a cover band you got the good and you got the bad and in this case it was great, best remake ever! Actually my favorite was Day of the Dead, that Captain Rhodes was a maniac! Ok so zombies don't run but it stayed close to the original, maybe not dead on but its someones elses veiwpoint and it was good!! IMO

Ya know, to be honest I like the "Dawn" remake infinetly better than the original. The original Dawn just always put me to sleep (Literally, I never could watch it all the way through :) ) I sorta liked the original "Day" better than the 1st Dawn, but as far as Romero movies go I really only liked "Night" ("Land" was alright and I haven't seen "Diary" yet)

On a side note, it's good to see all the Zombie fans here! I thought I was the lone odd Joefan with a zombie obsession :)

the only thing that bugs me about the new dawn of the dead is the fact the zombies run... I mean how can a corpse run.. other then that its pretty good remake. But like I said before I like the original more because its a lot gorier. especially the biker gang scene at the end.

I am a horror movie fanatic!! Currently I've been watching the Horrorfest 8 films to die for series, the ones I've seen are pretty good and are a huge improvement over the first 8. Zombie movies are all usually pretty cool and the original Dawn was a little boring but as for gore it had nothing on Day. Day was the goriest one of the bunch and if I'm not mistaken the Dawn remake had more gore than the original, most realistic headshots ever! None of that cg crap!!

well you asked for it.. as I recall I dont remember a scene quite like this in the new dawn of the dead.. and there is lots of scenes like this.. I have seen this movie so many times I lost track.and I never find it boring.. THe new one I saw maybe twice. and it just doesnt appeal to me as much.

^ I like the original but the remake is better in terms of entertainment! Better action, better zombies, more gore it is and will be the best zombie movie of all time. This is just my opinion tho, Dawn remake wasn't just a horror movie it was actually an action movie. It was amazing, no zombies shouldn't run but it's alot scarier that way!

I just saw the new Day of the Dead yesterday. and I must say it totally rocked. it was much better then I thought it was gonna be. even the running and jumping of the zombies wasnt too annoying.

I finally saw it and all I can say is that when Nick Cannon saying "By the power of Greyskull!" while raising a machete in the air is the best part of a movie, it can't be that good. Dawn of the Dead remake was far superior. This one, not so. And I liked Land of the Dead too mind you.
