Cobra Unit Patches

So I've been drawing these individual unit patches for several of Cobra's elite units. I also gave each their own motto, and hopefully you can read the color schemes I wrote next to them. I'll attempt cleaner computer-drawn renditions sometime in the future.

Thanks. I'm hoping in the future, I'll have some of these units built up and ready for battle. (I'm holding out and waiting for Hasbro to meet demand so I don't have to go to ebay or an store with empty shelves.) I'm going to come up with more, and as I said, draw them cleaner on a computer and in color. Perhaps even have them made to sew onto a jacket or hat or something. More to come later.

Those are so good man,very realistic. It also gives the sense that Cobra is a vast,international army. This I like. All of your ideas are very creative and not in the least stale. Good work.

Actually, I think I need to cut back on GI Joe - it's kind of all I think about and spend all my free time on. I feel like I could use two extra sets of hands and 24 extra hours in a day, with all the ideas I have in my head. Man, if only Hasbro would hire me...

These are really cool, and I love the thought that's gone into them. The one thing I wonder...would Cobra actually use Latin mottoes?

I think so - although some of the mottos are French as well. I just went with that because a lot of the US military uses stuff like that on their patches or unit crests, and I wanted them to have the same feel, as well as go along with what they do.

The ones by Starviper are mine, but only a sample of stuff I've done. I like to put logos on the pics in my customs posted at JC (http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/customs_listing.php?kind=figure&uid=432)

Very nice, Starviper. I've been working on a thorough rundown of all of Cobra's forces, trying to organize it into what our military is organized into. Then I was going to have actual Division, Brigade, Battalion and Units laid out, and eventually have patches drawn up for all of them. I like what you've done a lot, and have seen them around on this site.

I don't see why not. Latin is a very harsh language. Powerful. I like the touch.

Here's a cleaner rendition of the Tele-Viper one I did so long ago, with some updates. Been busy with schoolwork. More to come eventually. If anybody with the know-how and equipment to print these out as decals to apply to figures (naturally, they'd have to be drawn a bit less complex), feel free to do so, and let me know how it comes out.

Been busy lately. My daughter's visiting for the summer, I started my internship as a draftsman for American Bridge, my daughter and I hit a deer with my Isuzu Trooper two weeks ago on her birthday (it got away - the Trooper will be out of the shop tomorrow), and other day to day crap that's piling up and getting out of control has been keeping me from making any additions to the roster here. That, and I had been working on several other projects within the 'tank realm. Mostly all I can find time for at the moment is the odd custom. But, I shall update this post sometime in the near future. Especially since there's Cobra Para-Troops coming our way...
