Name: Wu-Shi (fog warrior)

Bio:
The dojo of the White Dragon was known throughout China for training the best fighters in martial arts, to protect the emperor. Keshiro-Sawa was the best student of the master´s dragon, undoubtedly to be his successor as head of the dojo. A foggy morning, Keshiro was meditating in the vicinity of the dojo, when a group of ninjas attacked the White Dragon´s dojo. A student was able to escape, and told Keshiro-Sawa what was going on. When he got to the dojo, the battle continued and the students kept defending the dojo, but most of them, children and teenagers had been killed. Furious, Keshiro-Sawa reached his apartment, where he took his weapons and went to defend his dojo. Using the fog and the smoke from the fire that consumed the houses, he unleashed his fury and killed all the enemies without leaving one alive. Some survivors of the attack, argued that the Wu-shi (warrior fog) had saved them.
"When the fog is gone, your life will be gone with it"

Work done on the custom:
For this custom, I mixed some parts of different figures, carefully choosing parts to get a figure with a high range of motion, all geared up. I started with cutting part of the head and warming the hood to stretch it, to get the correct size for the figure. then I make the straps of the back pack with an elastic black band and add the throwing knifes.
Then I add the shuriken to the lower forearms protectors (these ones are removable). Then I have to slice the back pack to get a smaller one, and drilling it to carry the kusari gama. This is because the back pack is for the swords, but if I put the swords on the figure, with the modification, I can put the kusari gama into the backpack. For the kusari gama, I used a grip sword piece and drilled a hole for the rope, with this modification, I can assemble the smaller sword with the kusari gama and combine the attack techniques of my custom. When I have all pieces ready, I paint the figure and accessories, then I put the dirty and shadow effects and my last step was cover the figure whit a flat clear paint.
As a result of the job I have a figure with great range of motion and fully playable.

I painted the figure with the effects of the battle damage description of the bio origin. (dirty of burning smoke).

Name: Wu-Ta

Bio:
For the past five years Wu-Ta has trained under Ninja-Ku, an unrelenting master. Wu-Ta will not graduate from his white belt until he has killed 100 Arashikage ninja; he currently has 57 confirmed kills, but Arashikage are a dying breed. His largest disgrace is that he has unsuccessfully attempted to assassinate Snake eyes on 23 different occasions, and Storm Shadow on 14. His greatest accomplishment is that all attempts have either gone undetected or have been blamed on their sword brother. Upon completing the excruciating ritual of eye tattooing one must ask, if the eyes are the window to the soul, does Wu-Ta have one left?

Work done on the custom:
The most difficult part was sawing the torso at the waist. I tried to give all the metallics a uniform worn metal look.

Notes of special interest:
This was actually a trial run for making an America's Elite Storm Shadow figure. I wanted to see how the sleeves might work with this torso. After assembling the fig though, I started to think more and more about the Soul Reaper look he had going.

Name: Xiao Hu

Bio:
As a young boy, Xiao Hu witnessed how his family and town fell prey to plunderers that took over the town. His older brother, a Wing Chun master, is his only family left. But he was abducted by a group of armed men who bore the sign of the red serpent. Since Xiao Hu was orphaned, a group of Shaolin monks, who were trying to help his village, took him along. They raised and taught him the Shaolin principles and teachings, as well as the art of Shaolin Kung Fu. He lived 8 years of peace, reaching out to those in need. But there wasn’t a day when he did not think about his brother. Every day he prepared himself to come face to face with his brother’s abductors, but being in the temple taught him the value of patience. Now, the time has finally come – every detail has been mapped out; he is ready to bring his brother back.

Before his brother’s abduction, he vividly remembers men who used to make unwanted visits to his brother, men from the Extensive Enterprise. The Extensive Enterprise is one of the richest companies in the world; it holds and organizes underground fighting tournaments where only the best fought. As Xiao Hu grew older and wiser, he was able to put the pieces together. Those men who used to visit his brother were trying to recruit him into fighting circuit, but being the older, responsible brother that he is, he consistently refused to. Thus, the abduction. Now that Xiao Hu has figured everything out, he has to move fast for him to see his brother again.

First step is to make himself well-known in the underground fighting circuit by joining and winning the tournaments and kumites. Once he builds his name and reputation, Extensive Enterprise will surely come to him. This will give him the opportunity to get himself in and get his brother out.

Every tournament counts, winning this kumite is another step for Xiao Hu for him to rescue his brother!

Work done on the custom:
The custom was hand painted with Testors Acryl Paints. Both colors were mixed to get close enough to the asian skin tone and the saffron-color of the Buddhist monk's garment. The laces on the legs are made of plastic lace used for bracelets.

Name: Hrothmeir

Bio:
Foiled by the G.I. Joe team yet again, Cobra Commander has decided that it might be time to get some fresh blood playing for the Cobra team. Launching a worldwide quest for the best warriors money could buy, the Commander happened to catch wind of an order of Catholic monks, devoted to not just to God but to the art of war, buried deep in the Caucasus Mountains . A delegation of Cobra’s top brass was sent to the order’s monastery, but they never returned. In the months that followed, key Cobra installations around the world began to go offline. The only message they were able to get out before being lost forever was this: Father Hrothmeir is not pleased at having been disturbed, and will not return to his monastery until he is sure that Cobra has learned the lesson he has come to teach.

The origin above notwithstanding, this figure is actually based upon a character in a novel I am writing; the look of the character has actually been in development for about three years now, and is in fact what I’m currently using as my Hiss Tank avatar. Also, this is my first time doing significant sculpting, and my first time using Apoxie. That’s about it, really…

Name: Siege ( Cobra Riot Specialist)


Bio:
Matthew Rhymer (Code name Siege ) is the product of too much television and not enough parenting, couple that with his huge size. 6’8 300 pds, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Siege began his career of crime in the mid 90’s and earned a solid reputation for modding and driving getaway cars for heists and robberies as well as never being armed! Siege relied solely on his muscles and size to strong arm his quarry, never letting anyone know of his intense hatred of firearms, he watched his father shot down in the streets by the police as a child over a stolen car. After several years Siege’s extreme success rate and penchant for suped up armored monstrosities quickly got him noticed by COBRA , and by 1999 he was inducted as a Techno Viper into the COBRA organization. Little did anyone at COBRA realize that Siege was more than just a little Unhinged, the first time he encountered Storm Shadow all he could do was talk about Ninja’s and how much he loved Ninja movies when he was a kid, the really problems began to arise when Siege discovered the Ninja Viper corp., he applied numerous times, and was rejected every time because of his size. Siege just would not take no for an answer , so he trained on his own for years in just simple street brawling, fighting whenever he got the chance, and then he lost his arm.
It was in Bahdikstan during the conflict with GI Joe that Siege was deployed to keep Hiss tanks running, during the height of the conflict , Siege leaped from his transport to repair a disabled HISS, amidst the chaos and carnage he noticed a soldier with a RPG, sighting in the HISS, he saw the rocket fire and without a second thought he swung out with his Hydraulic Hammer and deflected the rocket from the tank. He turned and roared triumphantly to his comrades who looked on in horror, the explosion had severed his arm just below the elbow and shrapnel was sticking in him all over his body. he collapsed to the ground and was whisked away by Major Bludd who had been in the tank he had just saved.

The next 5 years of Sieges life would be spent in private villas and attended to by expensive and sometimes illegal doctors. Sebastian Bludd felt like he owed the young man his life and knew he lived by his hands, so he had the same doctors who had replaced his arm replace Sieges , Siege ever the tinkerer further modified his arm with pieces of BAT and SNAKE armor technology, he even added the hydraulic systems of a Jaw of life, making his arm excessively powerful. It’s doubtful that anyone smaller than Siege could even walk around with the Hunk of metal he calls an arm let alone fight with it but since his accident he has developed his own unique fighting style utilizing not only his Cyborg arm but a sword he made for himself from a 3 ton trucks lee spring he calls Conan a COBRA jet pack and his Techno Viper Hydraulic tools. He applied one last time to Ninja Viper training and yet again was rejected, This resulted in the trainer in traction for 6 months and every student with at least one broken limb.

Now Siege isn’t just deployed as a Techno viper but as kind of an advanced Chaos maker for Urban warfare. He will jet into an area and begin tossing around his weight and really bashing the area to bits, then he will jump to another area and start all over again. The chaos that he causes acts as headway for whatever op is in service or as a distraction so Ally Vipers can get into position. He takes a perverse glee in defeating any ninja be it a JOE or COBRA .

Name: Ghost Tiger

Bio:
Believed to have ties to both Cobra and the Pan-Asian criminal organization known as the Black Dragons, there is a scarcity of reliable info regarding the operative known only as Ghost Tiger. Thought to be a Chinese national, we've ascertained that he made his rep on the underground death match circuit before hiring himself out in a mercenary capacity, serving as an assassin, bodyguard, and enforcer. Analysis of surveillance footage captured during a Black Dragon raid suggest that he eschews modern weaponry in favor of a particularly ferocious version of the Tiger Claw fighting style, though it is likely that he is proficient in other styles as well. The tape indicates he prefers to attack forcefully and viciously, with little regard for his own safety. He seems to favor getting in close and finishing his prey quickly through the use of claws worn on his hands and feet, as well as a nasty looking set of working fangs mounted inside his tiger mask, though the swords on his back indicate he will resort to a more pedestrian form of melee combat when necessary. An informant claims Ghost Tiger received his numerous scars in combat with an actual tiger but that can't be verified at this time. Joes operating in the Asian theater are advised to exercise extreme caution when encountering this decidedly deadly new foe.

With the exception of the claws and swords, the entire figure is fully painted. I glued a couple details on the chest strap and lightly modded the back, allowing the swords to be attached and removed. Other than that, just some basic part swapping.

Notes of special interest:
Little is known of Jackson Fury’s past. He appears to be former military, possibly special forces. The early cybernetics in his body requires constant tweaking to keep from causing Jackson great pain. His hands can be replaced with special instruments for various missions, though he prefers the dexterity of his metal hands, which he can use to block and grab bladed or chain weapons. He can also easily crush bones between his metal fingers. It’s not known what extra sensory abilities his helmet provides, though one can assume infra-red as well as night vision.

Name: Gatos

Bio:
Gatos was a respected police officer, who put many criminals behind bars, but now he is a bounty hunter. He live in Cyprus, but he travel across the world, to capture the most wanted criminals. He speaks fluent Greek, English and has some knowledge of Chinese and Italian. Gatos is three times local champion at Pankration and an associate instructor level 2 at Jeet Kune Do. He entered the Kumite tournament just for fun.

Custom Name: Jaztine Ruiz - PurpleHunt

Bio:
Hardened by the streets of spain in her youth; thieving,fighting and surviving has been her training. Having mastered the art of the Keysi Fighting Method and ninjitsu, she became a formidable foe. A silent and deadly fighter, a weapon master at long range with a Kyoketsu or specializing in close combat with her fist and heavy boots, whether against one on one or against multiple assailants. She is now known as the PurpleHunt, profiting off those who try to profit in the night. Where once she as tormented and hunted, the hunted is now the hunter.

Entering the tournament is a means to establish a reputation as a force to be reckoned.

Work done on the custom:
Head: Replaced covergirl hair with sculpy sculpted hair. Face repainted. upper torso dremeled and sanded all clothes creases, except the tube top. Lower torso dremeled and sanded all the clothes creases smooth. Spot sand on the waist with added sculpey detail to simulate daisy duke shorts. Upper legs sanded smooth. Lower legs of the greenshirt
baggy pants was shaved and then sanded smooth. Sanded off remnant of upper boot and resculpted with sculpey to create a sturdier boot. Weapon chain made from cheap necklace with sculpey sculpted knife.

Notes of special interest:
parts for Roc covergirl is not very compatible with Roc Baroness. TO get the upper and lower torso to fit, I had to hollow out a lot of the baroness upper torso. Lower arms of the cover girl does not fit the baroness upper arms without the using the baroness elbow joint. Learned the hard way that elbow joints needs to be spliced to be removed. Not sure if that is true with all elbow joints. Finally, sanding small pieces of plastic smooth take a loooong time to get smooth and boiling sculpey as a method of hardening is far inferior to baking, when baking is not an option.

Code Name: El Conquistador

Bio:
Vasco was born into a life of wealth and privilege; His father a Count and his mother a Countess. Vasco’s father, a fencing master, had taught him the way the sword since the age of six. In his teens Vasco was sent away to Japan and the Philippines where he studied with Kendo and Eskrima masters. His father had told him, “A true master does not limit one’s self to a single style. A true master is always learning new disciplines and growing. Only then can one truly be a master of the blade.” After years of studying abroad he returned to Spain only to find out that his family had been killed. Some say murdered. Vasco turned to the only person whom he thought he could trust and get answers from, his godfather, The Baron. Baron Ironblood saw great potential in Vasco and took him under his wing. He sculpted his mind into something dark and twisted. Slowly Vasco faded away and El Conquistador was born. Now a ruthless killer and general in the Red Shadows, El Conquistador is truly a master of death.

Real Name: Han Xiang Zi (unconfirmed)


Bio:
A cruel and mysterious warrior monk, the man known as Master Tao is often spoken of in whispers and urban legend. It is rumoured that he was once one of the legendary "Eight Immortals" but was banished long ago for his disdain for humanity and his fellow man.

The one truth that is known however is that the only thing Han ever truly cared for was power and the pursuit of it - by any means necessary.

Travelling from one Shaolin monastery to the next he cut a bloody path learning all he could from the masters he came across,then brutally murdered them and their students using his mastery of the forbidden art "Hēiàn Quántóu" meaning "Dark Fist".

He now searches for new martial arts masters he can learn from and then quickly dispose of. His body may be old but his abilities, merciless nature and complete lack of conscience make him one of the most dangerous men on the planet

He only lives to perfect his fighting skills and destroy every opponent he meets.

Work done on the custom:
Aside from the part swaps and painting the other part of completing this custom was making him look scarred and disgusting, I scratched him with a blade for the "scars" and carefully burnt him for the "boils".

Notes of special interest:
Tao 道is a concept found in Taoism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoism). While the word itself translates as 'way', 'path', or 'route', it is often used philosophically to signify the fundamental or true nature of the world. I thought as Master Tao lusts for power and bloodshed this term was quite fitting!

Name: Hard Knox

Bio:
A former Marine turned Cobra Viper, Knox was injured during an assassination attempt on Cobra Commander (presumably when Mercer defected) The resulting explosion left Knox without his left arm from the elbow down. In gratitude, Cobra Commander rewarded Knox with an experimental Cybernetic Arm that Dr. Mindbender was working on in his next Gen. BATS program. Angered that all he received was a robotic arm, Knox left the Cobra Organization and went underground for several years before showing up at an Annual Dreadnok Invitational, where he proceeded to beat the other applicants into a bloody pulp in order to become the newest member of the Dreadnoks.

Name: Bearclaw

Bio:
Thorton Topill grew up on stories told from his grandfather of American Indian Warriors. At a young age he knew he too wanted to be a warrior and make his family proud. When Thorton was old enough he joined the Army, and eventually became a Ranger. He then learned of Okichitaw, a stylized fighting technique of the First Nation and American Indian people. Thorton then knew that once he had mastered Okichitaw he could view himself equal of the American Indian Warriors of the past. He was then recruited for the GI Joe team by friend and former squad mate Beachhead, who has said that “Thorton is a peaceful man, until confronted and his way of life and family is threatened, he then becomes the warrior Bearclaw, which sends the enemy running for the hills”.

Okichitaw, from Wikipedia, is a martial art based on the fighting techniques of the Assiniboine and Plains Cree Indians, intermingled with techniques derived from judo, taekwondo, and hapkido. It was founded and first developed by Canadian martial artist, George J. Lépine. The gun stock war club, tomahawk and knife are all main weapons used in Okichitaw.

Name: Jade

Bio:
Born into poverty in São Paulo, Brazil, Jade spent her early life as a street rat fighting for food, shelter, and safety. Joining gangs, hustling drugs, and street fighting is a way of life as political & social turmoil corrupt the city of São Paulo. Jade's skills against opponents and experience in drug running made her a choice recruit to join the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal organization. She quickly rose to the position of Torre in the PCC earning a lucrative drug-distribution point in São Paulo with only the incarcerated PCC leaders above her.

Recently the COBRA organization returned to Brazil to secure new sources of funds for their ongoing "world conquering" effort. With the Comandos em Ação pushing back, the Headhunters were dispatched to develop a new criminal organization to deal with the regional threat to their operation. A meeting with the heads of the largest criminal organization started with Headman introducing himself as the new point man they will serve under Cobra Commander's control and ended with Jade decapitating nine men including two Headhunters. Headman arrived back on Cobra Island in a shipping crate tied up and severely beaten. Jade currently commands the Cobra Unified São Paulo Criminal Organization (CUSPCO).

Work done on the custom:
Arms combine the Darth Talon shoulder and cusp of arm cover with the remaining Helix arm. Upper arm peg is heavily modified to fit the Scarlett torso. Lower arm peg has been adjusted to fit with the new upper arm combo. Lower Scarlett torso has been heavily modified at the hip at accept the larger Helix leg. Hair has been removed & widened to reveal more of the second eye. Hair has also been sanded down in places for a smoother look and then three different colors added. Torso has clear green and clear blue added over a new silver base for a more shiny metallic look. A pouch from DVD Roadblock's webgear has been added over the left shoulder hole. A mixture of two colors is used to achieve a mulatto skin tone. Machete and knife are repainted.

Notes of special interest:
Four figures died in the service of constructing this custom. Only the eyes are untouched. Every other part of the figure has been painted whether the color existed previously or not (i.e. the boots, gloves, & part of the knee brace have been repainted black over the original black).

Name: Gikan

Bio:
Former ninja who was able to leave his clan and changed his way of life into the samurai tradition. Because he doesn't have a master, he is a ronin. His old ninja clan tried to kill him, but Gikan successfully defended himself, killing all of his attackers. He went back to the clan's hideout to kill of the clan head and now lends his services to everyone having trouble with bandits and ninja's. He still uses his experience from the ninjitsu which is emphasized in his personal naginata. He created this weapon himself and can handle it with a deadly precision.

Glued a piece of rope to the conical hat, sculpted the hair with greenstuff, switched Zartan's lower arms for Tripwire's lower arms, made a sling for the sword sheath with a piece of shoe lace, shortened the sword a little to fit the sheath, cut and glued the personal naginata from three different weapons, repainted all parts and weapons.

Kojo Masters was a professional futbal player for Jamaica, but after refusing to agree to a fixed game, he was beaten and severely injured by hustlers. Leaving the sport, he studied martial arts and found a new lifestyle of protecting innocent from thugs, gangsters, and hustlers in the slums of his country. He created his own fighting style by infusing his soccer skills with martial arts such as muy thai. he got a tattoo of a snake to remind him that there is always evil near by

Name: Cobra Reaper

Bio:
The Cobra Termination Droid: Reaper Class; is a cybernetic being that has been created by Cobra for stealth assassinations and for protection of Cobra VIP's. Their programming is very advanced and they have pre-installed Arashikage Ninja combat skills in their memory banks as well as other martial arts disciplines. Their vulnerability lies in their neck but their torso can be pierced by heavy caliber weapons. Their forearm blades are retractable and can pierce all but the hardest armor. Currently only 1 Reaper has been commissioned but other are being planned.

Work done on the custom:
Head was painted flat black, dry brushed w/ gunmetal, followed by aluminum. Eyes were lightly touched with flat red for a glow effect. Hood length was shortened and painted black with a red gore and flat red interior. Deadpool was torn to shreds for those arms and they were given the same paint treatment as the head, black with gunmetal and aluminum dry brush. Upper leg armor was drybrushed gunmetal and aluminum. Bottom legs were flat blacked and then details added with gunmetal, aluminum and red for the back of the boots. Belt was cut to fit and then forced into place and drybrushed flat black in some areas to match the rest.

The dojo of the White Dragon was known throughout China for training the best fighters in martial arts, to protect the emperor. Keshiro-Sawa was the best student of the master´s dragon, undoubtedly to be his successor as head of the dojo. A foggy morning, Keshiro was meditating in the vicinity of the dojo, when a group of ninjas attacked the White Dragon´s dojo. A student was able to escape, and told Keshiro-Sawa what was going on. When he got to the dojo, the battle continued and the students kept defending the dojo, but most of them, children and teenagers had been killed. Furious, Keshiro-Sawa reached his apartment, where he took his weapons and went to defend his dojo. Using the fog and the smoke from the fire that consumed the houses, he unleashed his fury and killed all the enemies without leaving one alive. Some survivors of the attack, argued that the Wu-shi (warrior fog) had saved them.

Work done on the custom:
For this custom, I mixed some parts of different figures, carefully choosing parts to get a figure with a high range of motion, all geared up. I started with cutting part of the head and warming the hood to stretch it, to get the correct size for the figure. then I make the straps of the back pack with an elastic black band and add the throwing knifes.
Then I add the shuriken to the lower forearms protectors (these ones are removable). Then I have to slice the back pack to get a smaller one, and drilling it to carry the kusari gama. This is because the back pack is for the swords, but if I put the swords on the figure, with the modification, I can put the kusari gama into the backpack. For the kusari gama, I used a grip sword piece and drilled a hole for the rope, with this modification, I can assemble the smaller sword with the kusari gama and combine the attack techniques of my custom. When I have all pieces ready, I paint the figure and accessories, then I put the dirty and shadow effects and my last step was cover the figure whit a flat clear paint.
As a result of the job I have a figure with great range of motion and fully playable.

I painted the figure with the effects of the battle damage description of the bio origin. (dirty of burning smoke).

Name: Xiao Hu

Bio:
As a young boy, Xiao Hu witnessed how his family and town fell prey to plunderers that took over the town. His older brother, a Wing Chun master, is his only family left. But he was abducted by a group of armed men who bore the sign of the red serpent. Since Xiao Hu was orphaned, a group of Shaolin monks, who were trying to help his village, took him along. They raised and taught him the Shaolin principles and teachings, as well as the art of Shaolin Kung Fu. He lived 8 years of peace, reaching out to those in need. But there wasn’t a day when he did not think about his brother. Every day he prepared himself to come face to face with his brother’s abductors, but being in the temple taught him the value of patience. Now, the time has finally come – every detail has been mapped out; he is ready to bring his brother back.

Before his brother’s abduction, he vividly remembers men who used to make unwanted visits to his brother, men from the Extensive Enterprise. The Extensive Enterprise is one of the richest companies in the world; it holds and organizes underground fighting tournaments where only the best fought. As Xiao Hu grew older and wiser, he was able to put the pieces together. Those men who used to visit his brother were trying to recruit him into fighting circuit, but being the older, responsible brother that he is, he consistently refused to. Thus, the abduction. Now that Xiao Hu has figured everything out, he has to move fast for him to see his brother again.

First step is to make himself well-known in the underground fighting circuit by joining and winning the tournaments and kumites. Once he builds his name and reputation, Extensive Enterprise will surely come to him. This will give him the opportunity to get himself in and get his brother out.

Every tournament counts, winning this kumite is another step for Xiao Hu for him to rescue his brother!

Work done on the custom:
The custom was hand painted with Testors Acryl Paints. Both colors were mixed to get close enough to the asian skin tone and the saffron-color of the Buddhist monk's garment. The laces on the legs are made of plastic lace used for bracelets.
