I am going to have a birthday in a few weeks, and I had told my mom that I want people to just give me money for a Wii system. She goes on and says, "I've seen your sisters play theirs, and I can't see the appeal!"

Well, older sister and her husband have a few consoles, in which she's done Wii Fit. Oldest sister has two little children, so there's plenty of kiddie games (Like "Toy Story Mania" and "Littlest Pet Shop") around. Me? I told her that I wanted to download a lot of old games that you can't get on the newer systems.

However, my mom is the type of person that plays plenty of computer games like Mah Jongg and Scrabble...I have no idea why she'd be so down on a Wii.

Though if she does cool out (And I will probably point out that my other option I've thought of is WAY more expensive), what would you guys recommend?

Hmmm... Yah, I like totally don't understand the question you are trying to ask. LOL.

*whispers* But then I would probably be poo poo-ing the Wii as well, since I am against all forms of motion control gaming including PS3's Move and 360's Kinect. So yah, maybe I'm not the best person to be answering in the first place. LOL.

Yeah, I kinda don't get what the question is either. Are you asking whether you should get a Wii, or how to deal with your mother?

If you are a casual gamer and prefer simpler controls, the Wii is great. Nowhere near the power of the nextgen game systems, but overall simpler and fun - as long as you navigate away from the multitude of garbage games out there. But it sounds like you are more interested in the virtual console games anyway. The Wii controller does a decent job emulating a classic nintendo controller.

Wii is great got all my classic NES games including some never released in US. So I am content may sell my NES and games or donate to my church garage sale.

Well, fortunately, my sisters were behind that one. But as for now, I'd like to see what you'd recommend. I know I'll be getting "Super Mario RPG", "Paper Mario" and the "Mario Party" games from Wii Ware, but what else?

No sense this post makes. It's like trying to make pancakes using instructions on how to change your oil?

Really, most WII Ware games can be done (and done a lot better) on a PC using an emulator.

If you get a Wii, get a memory card and save the games to it - I ran out of memory pretty quick.

Wii Ware games I recommend
World of Goo
Art of Balance
Cave Story

For store-bought games, you can't go wrong with anything Mario.
