I am sure this has an iron grenadier application in it somewhere.
Further experimentation with my new casting powders.

I still think glitter is proof that Satan is alive and well in the world but these came out fun.

Yep, the gold powder works well with short cure/lower density resins like the 327 your using. Only problem is that it settles in the molds with the longer curing/higher density-heavy duty stuff. Instead of using a drop of black in your resin, try mixing a bright yellow for a more bright finish overall. It'll make a nice candy metallic.

That armor on the right just screams Nullifier. Are you putting these up on your site?

Thanks guys, I am thinking about doing a batch of golden armor as a contest prize. The guns were poured because I had extra golden resin mixed up. They will probably be a random pick golden gun on the site till they are gone.

I picked up some Yellow Dye and recast some. NOW THIS is gold. I like the antique gold with the black base, but this is definately more what people expect when you say cast in gold I think.

I clicked on this thread expecting to see hundreds of tiny bars of gold.

Even though that's not the case...it's not exactly a bad idea...right?

I was thinking about doing gold bars, anybody know what dimensions 1:18 bar of gold bullion would be?

I don't know, but I want some when you mold them.
That's genius.
Mold in singles, and than maybe one mold that is many together?

So who wants to sculpt me up some gold bars, maybe with the cobra emblem stamped into them?

If you did an IG logo stamped on them, I know a group of people that would be interested :D

Standard gold bars aren't too big...

But this is what I picture when thinking about gold...

I could sculpt some for you, but I don't know about doing a Cobra or IG symbol on them...that would be pretty tiny.

I was thinking movie style gold bars as well. Which are pretty much unliftable in reality. Though they do make them that size.

Whoa, that stuff is bright!
I dig it, its much bolder than most toys. The first batch is great for a more antique look.
