Enter the Night Creepers! (Collection Pics)

Not exactly custom figures, but I've been amassing a small army of Night Creepers lately, as I created a back story for them, based on the Marvel Comics.

Like Extensive Enterprises, they are fronted by a legitimate accounting and law firm, based in Europe. Their jobs are chosen by committee, who vote by showing their steel. As they are named after letters in the Hebrew Alphabet, there are 22 in total.

According to Hebrew Numerology, each letter is assigned a certain value, 1-400. 22 letters, 22 values. Aleph equals one, but it also equal 1000, the perfect number, the highest value. Thus, Aleph is "one among many" in the Night Creeper army, but is also their Leader (This custom isn't finished yet, he probably needs a better dome, and he's unpainted):

Finally, taking the numerology a step further, Cobra Commander has earned the loyalty of a few of these ninjas. They are represented by the 5 Hebrew letters called Sofits, which is also the name of this secret cabal:

E-Bayed these guys a la carte... lots of sellers had them up in multiples. I only have one Alley-Viper (who represents the greatest character DIC ever added to the GIJoe mythos). My Alley-Vipers will be built up when POC is released, and we get them in colors that vaguely resemble something a human being would wear.

Easily one of my favorite figures. My NCs had endless battles against SE back when I was a kid. I prefer the blue one over the original colors though. This is awesome to see that many NCs next to each other. Thanks for the pics!

He's pretty easy, Zoltron.

Top half's all Quick Kick, legs are from an extra Night Creeper. The Belt is a modded lower half of the NC's webgear, and the chest harness is from a City Strike Snake-Eyes.

The only thing that's really customized at the moment is the head. Quick-Kick got bisected just above the eyes, and his hair I Dremeled down to a relatively indiscernible lump. I bisected a spare Night Creeper head, and removed the bottom half of the NC headgear to create the blindfold and skull cap. All he really needs now is some chest goodies (a few knives I'm planning to swipe from a POC Jungle Storm Shadow) and a few paint apps.

Maybe not traditionally, but it's not a hard port from mastering Krav Maga to learning multiple martial styles from the usual haunts in Asia. Night Creepers are hardcore ninja, in my book, because they take on assassination and infiltration missions for the highest bidder. That's a lot closer to "ninja" than Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow, despite what martial art they practice.

The names actually come straight from the Marvel comics, where Larry Hama gave the Creepers call signs like Aleph, Teth, Shin etc... I just followed it to a logical conclusion, and did some research into Gematria to fill in the blanks.

Last fun fact - the letter Ayin is a relatively silent consonant, so in Night Creeper meetings, Ayin does not vote with steel, insuring an odd number of votes, and no chance of a tie. Language is awesome!

Blame Larry for the Jewish connection - aleph is a Hebrew word. (Techically it is pre-Canaanite Semetic, according to Wiki).
