Nothing around here as of 3 a.m. this morning. Think Snakeyes hit a wal mart or two on his way into work. He text me saying nothing found on his end either.

I say Wed. will be the day for stuff to show up, but it is also going to depend on how full their pegs are right now on if they get put out. As well as if they have an overstock of Wv 1 vehicles. Only one wal mart I went to has room for both new figures and new vehicles, but they get things in only once in a blue moon. Really sucks..

I read on another board that someone bought BATS and Snow Serpents at Kroger Marketplace for $4.66 each. I'm not originally from Texas, or the States for that matter, but is Marketplace the same thing as the bigger Kroger Signature stores? The dude who made the report was from Columbus, OH.

Marketplace is bigger than a Signature store. Signature just means it carries more variety of foods to compete with the Super Thumbs and Wholefoods.

A buddy in Ft. Worth hooked me up with Mutt, Para Viper and Bazooka Trooper from Wave 10. I was too busy to ask him where he got them...I'll check. All I can say is don't take the hoses off the Para Viper Helmet..they are heck getting them back on.

I've been debating to repaint some of my extra Wild Weasels to be new characters. Since several others here repaint/customize, any thoughts to this quick work-up in Photoshop? I'm trying to avoid cracking open the chest when working on kitbashes/repaints.

Crimson Guard Midnight Express back from Sweep of Cleburne, Hillsboro, Waco, Temple, Kileen, Georgetown, Round Rock and Austin....

Netted some good stuff (minus a clear wraith but who cares), check your PMs Snakeyes1976, Magick and Raginspoon!

No new vehicles to be found at any Walmart between here and there, did see a newer revision box set with B.A.C.C, Snowjob and somone else I forgot but that was all.

I also noticed a newer box style for the IJ Cargo Truck, it's darker color one and is from raiders of the lost ark, had that labled on the box. The truck front cover graphic is facing the opposite direction than the older style one. That same walmart had Elsa, White German officer- Vogul? and a Grail Knight...not into IJ figures but first time I have seen those characters sitting on the shelf.

Other than that, I start back to work after today :( so no more hunting in remote areas for me....I am out for the night..

Hm.. what about painting him up in a grey jump suit instead of the typical reds and blues? Or using a combination of Grey and Red. Kinda like how the Strato Vipers have the black, grey and red combo..these guys could be a rank between cobra pilots and Strato Vipers? Actually, I really like that idea now.. LOL Or just make him a character named "Afterburner" or something.. "Thrust Vipers".. hmm.. maybe.. "Carpet Bomb" LOL o.k. now I am just stretching. ; )

Made my own driver character in the ARAH line called "Highway" for Cobra.. need to do a 25th version of him.. No paint was just a kit bash using cg and viper parts. may have other parts.. will have to find him.

Also haven't given up on those parts you need. Haven't found anything yet, but the more I dig, the more stuff I keep finding. LOL

I got a very nice score today. Went to Wal Mart and scored AWE Striker with Leatherneck, the Firebat, and the CLAW + FANG 2-pack. Went ahead and got Iron Man on DVD also. So it was a sweet hump-day for me!!

Damn, well out of 9 towns and about 40 store locations (Walmarts, TRU, HEB) between South Austin and South DFW there were no vehicles as of 4:00AM this morning.

Must just be along the coast of Texas atm and trickling up I guess. Since these vehicles are mass retail and the rattlers are in abuandance as well, I am not fretting over them. There will be tons in a few weeks or so.

Maybe. I've been working on these in the wee hours of the morning while I take care of laundry and other minor needs. Place is way too full of people right now to do something during the day.

Knee joints suck to paint. I used Model Masters flat black on the knee and connector joints of a figure. Sealed the paint job with a clear matte, reattached the legs pieces together, but the paint keeps scrapping off as the knee moves. On the other hand, Arctic SE with black pants, black pack, dark blue skull necklace, and a detailed black bag/harness looks awesome.

I miss stated, I meant to say "division" or squad of the Aero-Vipers, not a varaint (don't relly like the color scheme of the Aero-Vipers), he could be part of that group along with the Strato-vipers, I consider the strato-vipers better pilots since Serpentor chooses them for special missions, like in the movie.

Looked up the various levels of the atmosphere and Strato is only one that sounds good for a Pilot name :(

Mesospehere - Meso-Viper? Meso is just "middle" in latin blah.
Thermosphere- Thermo-Viper? Not very pilotish...

Astro is already an Astro-Viper and they are space guys so that dosen't work.

Spruce Goose? Wing-Viper? Parrott Vipers? LOL ok I am really going too far...how about Plane Viper! Get it! HAHA

As many wave 1 vehicles we see on the shelves, I wouldn't sweat it too much, but then again.. they may cut the order down due to so many sitting on the shelf and it may be a tough find. Who knows.. with the holidays coming up there should be plenty. Wal Mart is already gearing up and ordering a lot..just not getting in anything but revisions. : (

Nirvana.. are you taking the whole leg apart including the knee completely out of the lower leg? Where is it rubbing.. on the sides or in the center piece as you are looking head on at the knee while it's bent? there are two options to use here.. Sanding.. or replacing the knee with one already the color you are wanting. (This usually is easier, although some sanding or filing on the upper leg may be neccesary)

My wife and I just worked out our budget and my toy allowance is taking a major hit (going on a three-week honeymoon and buying a house within the same month does not constitute sound financial judgement). I'm contemplating severely cutting down my SW collection (mostly my clone army) to fund future 25th purchases. Solid.. it is always hard to cut down a collection. thankfully most of my other collections have ended (TF alternators, M.A.S.K) so all i have to do is try and get things that I wasn't able to get when the line was active..of course this means I have to pay more sometimes, but what can you do. I sold off my entire SW line about 2 years ago..thought I would regret it, but I actually never thought about it. Since the 25th have come out, that has been my only active line that I have to focus on.

A company called Museum Replicas unlimited got the license to make these as well as other swords from popular book lines and certain movies. They did the Crane Sword from the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time Series, Drizzt Do,Urden's Swords Icing Death and Twinkle from the R.A.Salvatore Novels he did for TSR under their Forgotten Realms books, They have done all of the Highlander Swords made from the same guy who made the ones for the movie. "Marto" All of which are usually limited runs and the boxes they come in or the certificate of Authenticity usually will have the number out of what they are.

Looks like all they have left are the Storm Shadow sword (Which is my favorite out of the two. Fits more comfortable in the hand and is better balances even though the handles on both are metal.

Bought mine off Ebay for way less than they were going for originally. Think I paid $145 shipped for the pair. Paid about the Same for my Drizzt swords, but paid out the a$$ for the Highlander swords.. Had to get the signature series as well as the correct scabbards for them. Connor's had a red scabbard.. not black people!! ; ) Had the Sorcerers Katana (Mario Van Peeples sword)from the 3rd movie, but it decided to take a walk without me.. (Still pissed about that one, cause I have never seen another one or anyone selling them to replace it. O.k. now I feel like a huge nerd.. so I am going to go back into my hole. LOL

Oh.. on the toy front. Wv5 revision 3 CP's are showing up. Assortment I saw tonight had. 2 Gold destro, 2 Falcon/Nemesis, 2 CC/Tripwire, 1 Fred/scarface, 1 BD Snakeeyes/SS. Other than that.. nothing.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm thinking that I'm going to cut out SW altogether and cut down squad building for 25th, and see how that goes. I'm just not sure if I'd regret it down the road since SW is what got me into collecting.

Magick, I was into Alternators too, thankfully that's over! I'm missing Swerve, Camshaft, Rollbar, Ricochet, and Nemesis Prime. I wanted that last one bad when he came out after SDCC 2007, but that seemed to come and go in a matter of seconds. While I was waiting for it to somehow come back as In Stock, I watched SDCC Destro, both of them, come and go as well. I wasn't into 25th at the time though, and now I'm kicking myself for not having picked them up when I had the chance. Whoops.

Funny, I've found all wave 10 figures but TF Duke (and clear Wraith) in Bryan/College Station. On Tuesday, I found 2 Mutt's and 1 Croc Master and today I found a Wraith and Bazooka Trooper. All at HEB in Bryan.

Dead tired.. and sore as hell. Just made a Chiropractic appointment for next week. LOL Man I hate getting old. After I sent you that text last night, I decided to stop off at a few Wal Mart stores that were past my house (Saginaw and Rufe Snow) From what I can tell those Wv5 CP revisions hit retail last night. Every store got them in with the breakdown I listed a page or so back. Apparently the Chase Black headed Destro may be no more. Who knows.. but as of 5 cases last night.. not a single one.

I was actually excited last night cause I skipped the store where I have the guy to run to other places since they have full pegs of revisions and fully stocked shelves of wv1 vehicles. Figured I would hit other stores.. He called me right when I got home (Thinking, go figure the one night I don't stop and they get stuff in) But he was just calling me about the new CP revision.. Got my hopes all up and stuff. Will have to hurt him tonight. LOL

Since I mentioned it before, this is the current state of my custom Arctic SE/CC figure. I may give up on the legs and port over the Black Supreme Commander legs/head for the custom I was originally aiming for, but I like the snow pants so much better then CC's tiny figure legs. You can see where the paint keeps wearing off so quickly on the backside of the knee.

Alright, back home and nothing else to report. Did see a strange colored A-10ish transformer I never seen before at a Walmart. Looks like this one the guy on the boards repainted as a rattler but comes purprle and grey and has a button for sound effects. Had Sunstreaker and galventron as deluxe versions on the bottom of the box. Skydrop or something he was called.

That off white and purple A-10 is the modern version of the mini con from the 80's Power Glide. Same name as well. The one that i want to get is the Takara Version. It's red like the original.

Ok heres the new shots-

Cobra Commander- Has a different Mask, its a little odd (oblonged) but the colors are pretty nice, has gloss/rubbery like gloves and some Idol/sceptor thingy

Dusty- Pretty cool figure, helmet and gogles are fixed to his head though.

Quick Kick- A little generic in the face, looks like a standard japanese kung fu guy, has a "chop" hand and an open hand to hold either his sheathed sword or his knunchukas(sp) which are rigid and stiff. Ankles are also rigid but turn left or right, can't pose his foot like you can with Storm Shadow/Cobra Ninjas..

Red Faced BAT = Freaking awsome, has both arms removable for either 2 full hands to hold whatever and the standard additional accessories so he can dual wield his attachements!

Major Bluud- Has a better color scheme and I took his dog tags off cause he has a nice dark blue udnershirt that needs to be more visible. HIs wrist on his fixed arm is now twistable but the arm still does not bend at the elbow.

Snake Eyes- Awsome variant, has his traditional sword like the full scale version Magick posted, I love that sword and this SE has it... no Timber though but I got like what 5 variants of that figure anyway...

Serpentor- Slighlty beter than the carded figure, Color is a little more muted and bland, may make a good cross variant between the carded and this figure. This one does have a new bald head under his Cobra Crown.

Skeleton- No stand, wont stand up, kinda lame but may be a use for him...

Um.. You know that the regular bats can replace both hands with their weapons as well right? And that the single card Bludd also has articulation in his hand already? Although I am glad they changed MB's lower legs and painted his collar blue.

Who did you order yours through? Small joes or BBTS?

Oh and for anyone wanting to know why they only have a place on the backpack for two weapons.. If you take the backpack off the back, the loose hand fits in that little spot at the bottom, then just stick it back on his back and it will stay. Ala... no attachment laying at his feet on the base. Unless of course you give him his real hand.. then you may be able to fit the claw back there. haven't tried. something for me to do later I suppose. LOL

I searched multiple Krogers today and the one Where Croc said he found his, and I found zilch. What row did you find them on? I did not see any peg hooks or price tags for any joe figures at all and I tore the stores apart and questioned every employee in each store, they have never even seen them....

I believe if your car was registered after September, 01, 2007, you do not have to have a front license plate. I don't have a front plate. Hell, my car doesn't even have a place to mount a front license plate without drilling holes into the front bumper. I've been pulled over a couple times and always let go with a warning. I think some cops just use the "no front license plate" as an excuse to pull you over in the hopes of finding other violations.

If you don't want to drill, just take it to a dealership that sells your car model. The autoshop department will typically sell & install the plate holder for a decent price.

By law you are required to have a front and rear license plate, but if your car is not equipped with a front plate, you can put in in your dash on the passenger side and they usually won't hassel you.

Also it is one of those "Cop is either bored or trying to reach his imaginary quota syndrome" Very rarely do they pull people over for that, unless they are just suspicious and then it gives them a reason. If they see that you don't have a place for one and it's a factory bumper then they usually just give you a warning most of the time. They don't want to have to do paperwork on something that little.

Now on the topic of figures.. TRU on Walnut Hill and 75 is near downtown Dallas right? That one is still open.. the one on North 75 that Snow Job works at is the one that closed.

Like Crimson, Snakeyes and I also hit several Kroger stores and found nothing. So not sure what the deal is on that whole story.. only one store getting in wave 10 doesn't make sense.

Now on to other matters..

NTJC (North Texas Joe Club)meet? Can we get a time, place and Date on this? I am good for any weekend as I am off.. But it will have to be sometime in the afternoon if it's on Sat. since I work late Fri. night.

My buddy Justin (who is a big time LEGO seller) will have vintage and 25th Joe stuff with him. I will definitely have my full Joe inventory.

People could meet at my booth and I can be a central coordination point as well. People can meet at a certain time and discuss a regular meet in the future. If I have the space, I'll even help you store your stuff under my table if you have too much. I know this is pretty far for some of you, but you get the chance to meet other Joe collectors and pick up some stuff while there. (If you have stuff you don't want/need any more, bring it and I may be able to help you there too).

lol A big negatory on the Wave 10. We have 6 pegs and we've only put out 2 cases. We can fit at least 2 more on there. DC isn't sending us any. :(

The SciFi con is a good suggestion, I just can't see myself going to it. I had to arm twist myself to hit JoeCon for a day and I was very bored. Just not much of a con person anymore unless its something like ComicCon to experience just once.

Well the only problem with meeting at a con is that it cost money on top of the money some of us will have to fork over for gas to plano. Not a bad idea, but I know that will limit some of us from going. I used to work that con when I managed a Comic book/gaming store back in the 90's. Met several B list actors. LOL

I do plan to go to Wizard World again this year though.. last years was great with Summer Glau, Ron Pearlman and Sean Aston being there.

o.k. back to the meet subject.. I vote meeting somewhere near Grapvine Mills or even the Mall itself.. But that is a good central location for all of us to drive to. I'll let you guys that live around that area to come up with a better place or a place in general, I mean it could be a restaurant for all I care.. if it has a party room maybe we could even reserve it.

Checked several WM stores tonight and didn't find a damn thin other than revisions and wave 1 vehicles..

Again.. if you southern guys find any extra Wave 10's hit us up, since we are deprived of HEB's here. I mean we have a few, but they never have anything. LOL

the wizzard is $20 a day usually at the arlington convention center.

As for the Meet...Grapevine takes me 45min to an hour to get there depending on traffic. I was trying to find something in correlation to that time for everyone.. so that one would not have to drive further than another by much. Unless someone has a house large enough to support such a meet or can come up with a place in relation. I don't have a place big enough at this time, but hope to by next year. Then I would have no problem having a meet at my place. Although it would be a long drive for some of you since I live on the northwest side of Ft. worth. Others that live close to me would have no problems.. like Snakeyes and Crimson.

went to h-e-b lastnight to get food and joes they had the usual 2 flashes and a few other revisions, then i found somthing cool,no it wasnt wave 10,it was several of the older 25th carded figures, i found a shipwreck,wave4 duke destro stormshadow,armored cc, & snowjob all on 25th cards all minty they hall had some little green sticer on them with 10/4 on them. i believe some1 bought wave 10 and returned these just to get their money back,which is sad. but anyway, i bought stormshadow,cc & snowjob.

I totally understand that Plano is quite a haul for some and they may not want to drive the distance for the show. I just wanted people to have a chance to meet and get something else out of it too. I need to talk to Destro about a one time advertisment for the show because I want to offer Tankers a special promo for attending (something like, spend X amount and get a free comic or file card). I'll see what I can do.

Quick question about Wizard World. How big is it? Are there smaller dealers at the show? What kind of product sells there? (I focus on Joe stuff, Star Wars, Transformers, and Marvel Legends which happens to be my best seller right now). Let me know and if there is booth/table space I may set up there as well. Thanks.

Just reading the thread about HEBs Krogers and the lack of product in North Texas is wierding me out. You have to believe North Texas will get product in the same or perhaps larger amounts, I guess patience is key. One of these days I'll get a wholesaler account and you guys can order through me if you want.

I've been checking all over here in Houston, I have found each of the latest comic packs but no Black Destro. I have not however found any Wave 10 figs at all. Haven't seen a one. Either Ike has slowed shipments to this area so we have not gotten them or I'm just way to slow at getting to the stores when they do have them. I am seeing plenty of Wave 9 and some revision figs and have found some older comic packs but no Wave 10.

I haven't even started getting the vehicles yet so haven't been looking for those, but let me know if you are looking for those and if I find them I can pick them up and ship if you anyone is needing them that bad. Haven't seen anyone on here yet from Houston, otherwise I would say we could meet up.

Btw, I've checked multiple Krogers, TRUs, Targets, WalMarts and HEBs. I've been told to check out Kohl's but haven't been able to yet.

I got my wave 10 from Entertainment Earth today, so it might be worth checking them out if NTX remains dry. As an added bonus, my case contained a clear wraith! It had been opened (presumably to verify the contents, since they have a condition guarantee), and I was very surprised to find it in there.

I'm usually a staunch opener, but I'm kind of at a loss here. It might be one of those neat collection oddities, so I might keep it sealed and just try and find a regular wraith. Then again, its rarity could be really overblown. Any suggestions? (and no, "send it to me" doesn't count :) )

I got my shipping email on 10/2, although it shipped on 10/1. I placed my order back on 8/12. I ordered revision 1 of wave 10, not the plain vanilla version, though.

As for the clear wraith, I am pretty certain he will not be as rare as SE with black timbers, Wave 1 flint and BHD. From the other threads he could be just as common as the regular. I have not seen a clear one from any of the HEBs I have gone too, just the regular, but people ordering them online have been getting clear ones in thier cases. It may be revision or case specific at which case has clear vs. regular. None of the pre-order sites shows clear waratih pictures in thier case assortments showing a clear, they all show a regular, so wo knows...I would just keep him, and if you want to open him to enjoy him more go ahead, by the time you decide, you may find another or they will not be as rare as peopl epurport them to be....

I don't think he is that spectacular, if I come by one great, if not I am not going to freak out.

the Wizard World tour is pretty huge.. Basically has all the same people who are at the SDCC. There are lots of small business vendors who sell stuff there.. everything from comics and toys to movie memorabilia and swords. Last year there were several selling TF and Joes.

It would appear that the street date for the wave 2 DVD packs has hit, but haven't seen any show up as of yet. I would suggest checking Target first.. since they got them first last time and they don't have an overflow of wave 1 like Wal Mart does.

Cool...I live in Brownsville and welcome a "Deep South Texas Sightings" thread. I've been looking for Wave 10 and am glad to hear of sightings in the McAllen/Edinburg/Mission area.

Here is my report:

-Saw a black head Grenadier Destro at Walmart off Trenton in Edinburg. Passed it up and probably will regret it. My loss is your gain!
-Brownsville Walmarts have mostly repacks, but I did come across single carded Grenadier Destro (gold head) - haven't seen him in a while!
-Brownsville Targets have plenty of Wave 9, Conquests and a Rattler here or there (as well as plenty of Hiss tanks, Dillos, and Vamps), but nothing new
-McAllen Toys r Us had the 5 packs (mostly CGs, no Firefly and green shirts), and mostly Wave 9 singles
