So far, in the Mid-Michigan area, there isn't much to write home about. There are, however, cases of DTC wave 2 & 3 being restocked at local TRUs - Flint, Saginaw, etc.


For you Transformers fans, there's a hidden Gem in the Grand Blanc area...a Super Wal*Mart that seems to be scalper free! Quite a few Alt Ravage/Rumble figures, along with most other TF product out on the market!

Target in Allen Park had 3 Snake Eyes. But my friend told me the Target in Toledo had Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and one CC, and also a 5 pack, I think he said it was the Joes, not the Cobra pack.

Figured I'd post somethign to get this thread going again. I stopped by a TRU on my way to a meeting this past Thursday.

So as of 4pm Thursday, September 6th:
TRU (Southfield - Telegraph & Lodge):
- 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe 5-Pack: Joes (x1)
- 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe 5-Pack: Cobra (x3, one was pretty damaged though.)
- No single carded 25th's though.

Target on Miller Rd. in the Flint area had all wave 1 single cards along with the running change 5 packs (different figure positions).

For Transformers fans, they also had the Jazz & Starscream repaints :D

Might need some locals to pick me up the Cobra Officer. I can't seem to find him anywhere yet.

So as of 1:30pm Monday, September 10th:
TRU (Southfield - Telegraph & Lodge):
- 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe 5-Pack: Joes (x0)
- 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe 5-Pack: Cobra (x2, one was really damaged and the other had a smashed in corner.)
- Still no single carded 25th's though.

- NOTHING! This is really pissing me off.

The Walmart I work at in Utica just started caring the single packs for 4.99 a piece. Still no sign of the 5 packs

Dropped by K-Mart on my way home.

- Cobra Commander (x1, creased card)
- Storm Shadow (x1, creased card)

That was it. :(

So I stopped off at all my regular stops today after work:

Target (Southland Mall/Taylor):
- 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe 5-Pack: Joes (x1, bought it)
- 25th Anniversary G.I.Joe 5-Pack: Cobra (x2, bought one)
- Still no single carded 25th's.

So I'm still searching for the single card Cobra Officer. Ideally I'm looking for one more of each of the single carded ones except CC, I have a second one already.

Wal-Mart (Woodhaven):
- Wave 2 of Joes as of 1:30pm today. Not sure what is left.

My Walmart in Utica had 2 cases of wave 2 last night.4.88 each

Bah...I haven't found anything along the I-69 Corridor...but perhaps that's because I haven't looked :p I really need to go on the hunt tomorrow after work!

Picked up most of Wave 2 tonight at Owosso Walmart. No Beachead, which is a bummer. Fun stuff.

Saw wave 2 during lunch at the Target in Auburn Hills, grabbed the last Lady Jaye and Trooper, left the Sepentor, hooded Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow and Snake-Eyes. They had a couple of boxsets as well. Hit the Target in Madison Heights on the way home and nabbed the last Buzzer, left a Serpentor and and several wave 1 (minus Flint). They also had 3 or 4 boxsets. Looks like Target is the place to be...

Saw three Cobra Legions 5 packs (the one with the jet pack trooper and stinger driver) today at 4pm. Anyone seen wave 3 in South East Michigan yet?

found the Cobra Legions this morning at Target on Miller Rd. in Flint (still two there). Nice set, keep it up Hasbro. No luck on the Wave 3 yet, soon enough I suppose.

From Fenton to Grand Blanc, East Flint to North West Flint....NO WAVE 3!

Did snag ALL of the Cobra Legions sets I could find though...

This is not a sighting, but interesting. I just received a confirmation email from Meijer's sales department from that they will be selling 25th Anniversary GI Joe this Holiday season. So another place to start looking soon!!!

For those in the area, Target in Fenton (Silver Lake Rd. exit off of I-75) has wave 3, a Legions set and a Joe Set.

The Wal*Mart across the street and up the road a bit from the Target has wave 2. There were a couple of Lady Jayes and a Couple of Buzzers.

Meijer in Owosso/Corunna has Wave 3. I left a Red Ninja on the shelve with a few others. I assume they should be at all Meijers now.

Yeah, called this morning and they said they had them. Get there, none in the Joe section...all
Sigma 6. So a bit peeved, I search and they are on the end of another aisle hanging on the white plastic hanger things that Meijer has. Besides the Red Ninja, there is a green Stalker and Zartan still there. Boy, Firefly and Shipwreck are great figures, and Zartan...not so much.

I was visiting the fam in Jackson tonight, and walked into Target. They had put out at least a case each of waves 2 and 3.

After seeing some kids peruse them (they actually seemed interested, but didn't get any), I moved in for the score.

Unfortunately, I couldn't tell ya' what all was left when I was done. I KNOW there's at least a Beachhead (corrected version), and a Cobra Trooper (at least, there was around 8:45 pm).

I found wave 4 in walmart in marquette Mi today

Has any one seen anything other than 5 packs in Mid Macomb County. I've been to all the major stores, and all I could find were the 5 packs (of course I bought them). No single cards in sight, finally bought Wave1 off ebay for $40 including shipping. I live on the border of Warren, and Sterling Heights.

I don't think that would really be wise considering how much a gallon of gas costs. I love G.I. Joe as much as the next guy, but I could more than likely save money by using ebay to get what I need. I don't like the whole scalping B.S. that seems to be going on lately, but I'm willing to pay an extra 10 bucks to get a complete Wave of figures, as opposed to driving 2hrs. round trip to only get a couple of them. I do appreciate the reply, and I am becoming a huge fan of this site. Hisstank rules!!!

Awesome..a Michigan sightings page

In Mt.Pleasant Wal-mart has wave 3 rev 2 packs, they got 4 cases in last Friday. i can i go there about 3 or 4 times a week and they always have some there but the previous shipment was the most i have seen, 3 pegs full. They had at least 2 cobra enemy's if your looking to add troops. when i got there they must have had 1 case of wave 4 because i got the last roadblock,duke, gung ho, and cobra air trooper. I am on the hunt for the rest of wave 4 as soon as i have the funds.

Target has numerous legion/joe/cobra 5 packs, and about every other friday they get new single packs in. I would expect to see wave 4 and possibly wave 5 there this friday as they seem to have the newer waves before walmart. I have been looking for the 25th vehicles exclusives there, but haven't seen anything yet.

I have gotten all my figs from these 2 stores and have all wave 1-3, half of 4 with doubles of most of them, silver pimp daddy destro from hasbro toy shop and a yellow stalker i got from target. no sightings of the dolphin shipwreck, but i would like to add him to my collection.

haven't looked at meijer, but k-mart has them, but i don't check there often

if anybody needs more info on Mt.P's stuff i can give you updates whenever if your thinking of coming this way to get some joes.

While out Xmas shopping, came across these. Might check the Woodhaven Target and Southgate TRU tomorrow, but that's about it.

Don't waste your time here. I've been checking religiously as I get on/off the highway, and there's absolutely nothing. I'm giving up on this place for awhile.

Target was well stocked. No wave 4/5, but plenty of wave 1 comic packs along with Wave 3 revision cases. Fought the urge to buy all the troopers/red ninjas, lol.

Found a Destro/Breaker comic pack last night at the Canton Wal-Mart. They also had a Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow comic pack with fixed crotch pieces. This was the first time the Canton store has had the 25th figures, so I hope they continue to stock them.

hey hey!...i didnt know anyone else from the Tank was from directly around me or i would'a posted what you found @ Canton Walmart days ago...but yeah, i picked up that same pack from there on Sunday and there was one remaining (the one you musta gotten) plus some duke/cc, SE/SS, Hawk/Scar packs...i didn't see the DN's pack though...first time i ever seen them carry Joes too, i was mighty surprized...BTW CG, Targets around here have plenty (or they did) of wave 2/3 singles and wave 1 comic packs if you didn't already know...

Target @ Big Beaver & Dequindre in Troy has Wave 1 Comic Packs, at least 3 sets left. Plus they have a buch of Wave 3 Singles.

Thanks to this forum I went to Target (Troy) this morning and found three Cobra Legions 5-packs marked down to $6.24. There was a Wal-Mart close by so I stopped in and... WOW, found the Dreadnok and Destro/Breaker comic paks! There is still one Dreadnok comic pak left. Don't worry, I hid it for the fisrt person that contacts me for it's where abouts. Is that fair? That wal mart now has all the comic packs and the wal mart on vienna is currently setting up the new toy layout with about 4 pegs dedicated to singles.

After reading that dchimpy picked up most of wave 5 at Meijers on his lunch break, I began my search and discovered a wave 5 shipment at Rochestor Meijer. There was one of each of wave 5 plus an additional Crimson Guard, Cobra Commander and a Shipwreck. Needless to say, if you head there now, you might find Cobra Commander and Shipwreck. The Joes are camping out at Meijers! Thank you dchimpy.

Picked up two Crimson Guard's, Snow job and Flash at Meijer in Bellevile today after work. Also got wave 4 at Wal-Mart in Belleville. Finally, a Joe hunting trip that actually produced results!

I bought the only G.I. Joe Meijer Wixom had lastnight... Wave 5 Crimson Guard. He was just hanging there all by himself. The C.O.R.P.S. and Men of Valor action figures teasing him because Destro, Snow Job, Sgt. Flash and Snake Eyes left him behind. I was going to leave him to but he looked right at me and whispered, "...take me home big fella, please?" Eh well, another $6.35! LOL

I bought my fourth and last Crimson Guard at Meijer Roseville this morning. They only had an Sgt. Flash left so I picked it up for anyone that needs help completing their Wave 5 collection. Just shoot me an email and it's yours for $7.

I am so tired of coming up empty handed. I checked the same stores all week long, and nothing so far. I think I'm just wasting my time, and gas on trying to find these. The only good thing is I have pre-orders @ BBTS. The shortage of figures in stores these days is a freaking joke. I can remember back in the early to mid 80's and going to places like TRU, or Childrens Palace and finding every figure made at that time. Well you have been a helper before, which I thank you for. I would like to get 1 each of wave 5, but I just keep coming home alone. I was @ that Meijer in Roseville the night before you were, and they didn't have squat on the shelves.

I hear you guys. I've been to 3 targets, 3 walmarts, 3 meijers and a TRU...and have found NOTHING.

Plenty of pegs, just nothing I want on them.

So, needless to say, from Fenton to Flint...zilch.

Hey C.I.A.D., if you haven't tried the Walmart in Clio, you might have some luck there. My wife picked up Wave 2 of the CP's for me there last week with some more to spare. I'm sure they are getting single packs in soon too.
If anyone lives in Grand Rapids, the TRU on Alpine had Wave 5, except for any CG.

Hey.. great thread - hopefully Target in Battle Creek will restock - they put out 1 case of Wave 4 today minus the Cobra Air Trooper - I didnt have any of these so I bought all 7. Sorry fellas. Dont worry though - I dont troop build and I dont need seconds... if more hit they are all yours... I am on my way to starting wave 5 at this point now.. Problem is - Targets dont have the UPC's in the system with the DPCI so unless the cashier rings these up correctly - they wont restock - the autopull system doesnt know they have been sold. So unless the toy team lead gets their head out of their a$$ and pays attention to the department - we wont see joes until the overnight team gets them on the trucks.

It has been very slim pickings everywhere.. for the last week battle creek hasnt had any news to write home about - Portage has been bone dry as well..

A friend of mine in colorado has started collecting this past weekend and has been out every day since friday with no luck other then 6 random wave 1/2/4 figures that where left on the pegs.

The comic packs are everywhere if anyone needs them - Battle creek target has all of wave 1 comic packs - Walmart on Shaver Rd in Portage had wave 2 destro and drednocks instock on friday.

Jackson didnt have jack squat when I went down on the 16th.

One day last week I saw like 5 crimson guards scattered throughout the flint area. mainly at meijers. I grabbed two that day but left the rest for you guys.

I snagged a roadblock from the corunna road wal mart and am quite pleased with the articulation corrections and the fact his head sculpt looks a little more badass than the 5 pack one.

I'll just say it. Flint really really sucks.

Hey Balance - Just read your post about the mid 80s - hell man back in the mid 90s wasnt too bad either - but I agree - retailers need to learn to stock up - I understand they dont want to get stuck with peg warmers - but come the hell on - you cant sell what you dont have. look at target - 4 dedicated pegs for joes - and these clowns cant get them filled.. 1 little case at a time.. wtf.. FILL The pegs let the people buy what they want.

The worst part is - it is like that with every toy line - I remember a few months back when I was doing TMNT movie figures.. I couldnt find new/good ones to save my life - only after the movie was long gone could you get a turtle - even now - you cant find the first set of figs.

Hopefully the drought in the area will be coming to an end soon. I've been checking everywhere in the Canton, Livonia, Westland area a few times a week, with no results. Target on Beckley Road in Battle Creek just got in a fresh case of wave 4.

I took the Air Trooper though because they didnt have it when I picked wave 4 up from there on monday.

IG Destro, Flash, Black SE, Snowjob, Crimson Guards were at Walmart on Vienna yesterday. So they're officially in the area.

Just came from Target in Canton. They have wave 4 on the pegs with the exception of Air Trooper, Destro and Storm Shadow. I already got these a few weeks ago, but it's nice to see new stuff on the shelfs none the less.

On the bright side, I did recieve my Wave 5 from BBTS today, along with my extra Air Trooper and 2 extra Crimson Guards. Not really a sighting I know, but exciting for me!

I also thought that BBTS shipped figures in a box within a box, or is that only when you order a case assortment? I only ordered the set of 5, I have the other figs. I'm proud to crown my TRU the most worthless Joe stop ever. I've stalked it for a month and watch 1 peg collect dust. Not even a hooded CC! Wow!

Yeah, I think that they only ship the shipping case if you order the whole thing, not a partial set. They put a ton of bubble wrap in the box, but I had a lot of stuff shipped also. Never had a problem with BBTS packing their products well. Always top notch.

UPS on the other hand, I believe that they must be playing football with some of the packages I've got from them in the past. It's a rare occurance, but it's been annoying the few times it has happened.

Stopped at the Livonia Target on Middlebelt this afternoon on my way home from work. Nothing new to report... Get your Stalker there, though!!

There were a TON of Stalkers (all dark green.... yawn), two Red Ninjas, two Cobra troopers and one Cobra officer (YAWN) along with a handful of Shipwrecks, one Zartan and one Serpentor. Several Wave 2 comic packs (still no Dreadnoks though!!!) and no 5-packs anywhere....

Kind of disappointing as I was optimistic they might have the 'noks comic pack or Wave 5 on the pegs. For whatever reason, I don't feel like I'm spending excess money when I buy Joes (or Hot Wheels...) with home goods.... Oh well.

Wal*Mart on Corunna road had wave 3 CPs. I missed out on The Twins & The CG/Scarface packs. Picked up the other 2.

They apparently had 2 cases at one time.

Single card wise, they have a BOATLOAD OF WAVE 4!!! They also had a few extra air troopers. I don't need'em, but didn't want to blow the extra cash to pick them up for anyone (sorry, taking the wife out to dinner tonight, so that means $2bills spent fo sho).

I finally caved (was waiting to see if my Wave 3 CP's would show up) and had my Wave 6 order shipped out. I did this on Monday afternoon. I got notice it was shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow. That is pretty standard compared to my past orders. BBTS is located in Minnesota. Hope this helps you.

I was in the same boat until I found wave 3 CP's at retail which is the only reason I've chosen to 'ship my loot'. I chose that option Saturday morning and my items entered the warehouse Monday and I just received an 'shipped' email today? Eh well, at least it finally shipped.

I'll go ahead and give this a resounding, and sad "agreed." I live in Lansing, and there hasn't been crap here for months. In January, I was wavering on if I should order a BBTS case of Wave 6 (the revision with some wave 5, too). I did, thinking I can cancel if I find wave 5/6 before it came in HA! We're just now getting wave 4 and my case should be coming in a couple of weeks.
Smartest move I've made. Saves me the gas.

Last night around 8:00pm Toys R Us at John R & 14 Mile (in Madison Heights) had comics packs if the CG/Scarface, Dreadnoks, Battle Ravaged Snake-Eyes/Storm-Shadow, Hawk/Scarlett and Breaker/Destro. They only had one each of the Breaker/Destro and Dreadnoks, so I took those and left the rest. I'm itching for wave 6 single packs now!!

As of 5AM Walmart in Taylor had an abundance of comic packs. Multiples of Destro/Breaker, Crimson Guard/Scarred Soldier, Drednoks, Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow 2, Ace/Wild Weasel but they only had one Crimson Twin set which I picked up. Nothing really in the single packs unless you want a Buzzer or Serpentor.

The new Target in Canton on Michigan Ave. and Beck opened the other day, and I stopped in after class today. Here's what they had.

4 full pegs of Wave 4.
3 full pegs of comic packs, including multiple Destro/Breaker, Ace/Wild Weasel, and the first Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow packs.

I picked up the only Dreadnok pack they had, as well as a CG/SF comic pack. It's cool to have a new place close to me to search for stuff, it just sucks that the full pegs of Wave 4 will be cloging the shelfs for awhile.

I'm starting to feel lucky to have gotten a couple Flashes when I did. For a while that's all I could find.

Flash shorted theory

I'm sure the reason he's been kind of shorted is partly due to an increase vehicle order from Target. I have a feeling the way they've selling Target requested an increase in vehicles. Since they probably didn't have as many production molds of Flash as they do with the troopers and greenshirts, the had to start using more Flash molds for Grand Slam. Grand Slam is just a complete repaint so to me it makes sense. Also, someone pointed out that Walmart is going to increase their peg count sometime in April. I have a feeling to have these pegs stocked with a variety, Hasbro is saving certain characters for this. I have a feeling Beachhead, and Flash will show up again in assortments with Wave 7.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Same experience different Wal-Mart!

I talked to this one empolyee at Meijers in January. He told me that they had a shipment of G.I. Joes that he was told to hold for some street date? I talked to his manager and she had no idea what he was talking about nor could they find the shipment?

I get frustrated when I deal with employees that hate their job but do it anyway. The key is patience and diligence. There is always someone that wants to help and there is always one person who is well informed in your area of interest. You just have to seek out these individuals.

Woodhaven Walmart has all the comic packs, and I mean all, wave 1,2,and 3. And they seemed to have a pletora of them.

I went to the local TRU this evening. Apperently, this store cannot function if the server goes down. I called on my way home from work and they had the exclusive packs. I wanted another Night Watch pack, so they were holding it for me. It was pouring down the rain and it knocked out their computer systems. I stood in line, holding my Night Watch set, waiting for twenty minutes to purchase it. Eventually, an employee came over and told me that they could hold it and I could pick it up later since they had no idea when the server would be back up. I'm just grateful they're willing to hold it for me.

Thanks guys, yeah i get excited everytime i come across one of these in retail...it seems like these things are getting harder and harder to come across....I was just surprised that i found the exclusives this soon...there were only two of each on the shelves...im still looking for the wave 6 cobra commander and torpedo....plus i still need the xamot and tomax comic pack.....i went to at least 10 stores yesturday hunting but no luck....but at least i found the exclusives. So that will have to tide me over till i find what i need....any one have any updates on wave 7?

Hey just an update to my earlier post....i just got back from my local walmart from joe hunting, and as i was just walking to the joe isle they were just getting done stocking them....i finally found the xamot and tomax comic pack that i have been searching for so long.....they had two of each comic pack on the pegs and barely any single carded ones....but walmart seems to be finally stocking there shelves again with these...but no sign of wave 6 yet...anyone else had any good luck with that....i am still missing two single carded ones....

actually that one had about 5 5packs for about a week and no one was touching them. I got mine from that TRU about 4 days ago and there were two sitting there for a couple days. If you run across any Lady Jayes or Gung Hos in our area, let me know.

Rumor has it, there's going to be a huge push in April to start promoting the hell out of these figs for the movie. Walmart in particular is going to add a whole lot more pegs allegedly. I think production hasn't caught up and they're holding back figs just to be able to fill those pegs when they become available.

While they obviously aren't making the sales now, the more filled pegs covering the space, the more it will do for marketing. Right now 3 pegs of singles look like any other fig in the aisle. Double or triple that and you sell the line and promote the line even more to the adults who buy for their kids.

I am! The only Joes I haven't found retail are Flint, Lady Jaye, & Flash.
My normal haunts are the Targets on 16 Mile, Van Dyke, John R, Dequindre & Crooks. I've had the most luck with singles at the Van Dyke & Dequindre locations. I've slowed down the past few weeks because I have most of what I want. I also go out of state a lot for work, & try to hit up every Target, TRU, & Walmart along the way.

I too am from macomb county. I don't bother with b&m though, unless it changes to serve the supply and demand.

Trade lists? What trade...lists? Oh well would you lookey there...you guys think of everything! However, unlike the trade list, our thread would be specific to our state and used more on the lines of a shopping list.

Imagine a thread, just for Michigan, that lists only what everyone is looking for. Before my hunt, I'd browse the lastest entries knowing that these individuals are willing to take the items off my hands if I find them. During my hunt I discover 4x battle packs that CIAD said he needed accurate as of 7:33pm lastnight. I purchase all 4 and send him a PM once I get home.

CIAD's other suggestion is fine but I'd rather not make two trips. None-the-less, I'd like to see a Michigan only thread that listed retail wants.

Well, I have an even better idea. I'm going to merge your post with the first post of this thread. We'll all post our want lists here...and you will be our chairman. Sound good? :D

Cool that there are a lot of people from Macomb county. I didn't see much at my usual haunts today. (Gratiot area) the only figure worth noting is Serpentor at Wally's at 12 mile and gratiot. Here's hoping that rumor is true, but I thought the movie comes out next year! Oh well, I'll just wait and see. Anybody have any doubles. I guess I got there too late. I went this morning around 10:30, and they were all gone. All that was left was the Star Wars and Transformers exclusives. This location did have remnants of the Wave 2 revision case, so I picked up another version 2 Storm Shadow.

The new Canton Target at Mich. Ave and Beck didn't have them either. A helpful stockboy checked, but didn't have them listed in his scanner gun. He checked back with someone else who told him they were an online exclusive only. Now we all know that's not the case, but he was very hepful and friendly none the less.

WOW! In the matter of a few posts we have our first gathering TBA, a suggested meeting point for future gatherings, a proposal for a group name and a suggestion for T-shirts. I personally would love to wear my T-shirt, with codename: Mr. Focus on it, to the 2009 movie premiere! Yeah, that's what I need. A T-shirt would be much easier than dressing up only to have your laser rifle, pistol and survivor knife confiscated by the theatre manager who lacks imagination. LOL

So I received a very helpful pm telling me to hit Target. I go..and to make a long story short...someone beat me to the punch...but cleared Target the heck out.

Target at 16 and Dequinder: They had vehicles all 3, 2 each, bought a set for myself. (Also of note Order 66 packs were there and the Target Premium series movie Transformers.) No single figs. Look for them in the cashier end caps.

Target at 11 and Dequinder: Don't bother!! Have vehicles in the back room. Good luck in asking for them. I dealt with a very rude employee. No new figs.

Target at 13 and John R.: Nothing

Also hit K-marts and Meijer in the same area: Nothing

Target on 23 and Gratiot: Nothing

Target on Hall and Schoenherr: Nothing

My friend has been finding SE with Timber, Lady Jaye, Beach Head, and Camo SS lately at Targets. He found them about three times at different Targets already and picked me ones I needed. So my point is that this wave is shipping again. Good luck!!!

And why don't you have a list posted on our highly effective 'Michigan Retail Wants' thread? Just because you are the only one that owns both a Terror Dome and USS Flagg in Michigan doesn't make you better than the next Tanker... unless, you still have that '86 Hawk version 2? If so, I've lost this argument and we're not worthy to have you list on that thread!

I do still have that 86 Hawk V2, and I meant that in the past tense regarding the BATs. One of the vintage figs I'm not willing drop $30 or more for 1 figure. I did post my simple little want on the MI Wants too. BTW I'd never consider myself better than anyone on here, and I know you were just kidding. My only want so far is Grunt from the TRU 3 pk.
