If you all remember the famous OboPay free $25 deal from last year, then hold on to your hats! There's a new company out to compete with PayPal called the Revolutionary Money Exchange, or RME. If you sign up for a new account, they give you $25 FREE! This is deposited into your RME account which you can then pay other RME users with, or transfer into your own linked bank account.
As with the OboPay deal, this is a bank, which means that in order to comply with the Patriot Act they MUST verify who you are with your SSN. If this bothers you, then just move along. It's a Federal law and it can't be circumvented. For the rest of us, it's time to collect our $25! They also have a referral program that will net you an additional $10 FREE for referring friends and family to the service. You max out at $500 in referral cash. NO, I am NOT trying to get referrals with this post. I'm just informing folks that it's there.

Hmm. I personally have not complaints with PayPal; but it does make me wonder what the rules are for those of us who have no SSN. I have a SIN, but the law up here says I don't have to provide that to anyone but my employer... just curious, though, not trying to bash them.

just wondering if anyone has started using this and if not, why? No more paypal fees sounds good to me and if you research the company it is legit. Here is an article in USA Today about it

I know that a lot of guys on some other boards have done it and say it`s great. One of them has received $90 from signing up and referrals. I think it would be great for those of us that trade here or find pieces for others that are not as lucky. It`s a way to save some some money during a time that is tough on most of us (and it helps to negate the price hike of shipping costs!)
Anyway, I am going to take the leap of faith now and sign up.

Ok, maybe not. After carefully reviewing everything, I changed my mind about signing up. It is completely legit and in many ways much better than PayPal but very different as well.
It is basically like opening a bank account (checking, debit and credit card) where they require a credit check but they give you an additional benefit of online transfers via email or IM. For me personally, right now is a bad time to do anything involving credit but for many of you it might be something to check out.
I can`t imagine that all major banks won`t follow suit with this idea as it is definitely something that they should develop to make things more convenient for their customers. It would also eliminate the necessity of third party involvement (PayPal) and fees.
I'm good with FeePal for now....

I signed up for this back in April when I noticed that an eBay seller was advertising them in their auctions. I basically got a free GI Joe out of the deal, so I didn't mind the credit check and inputting my SSN at all, honestly. I only got one of my friends to sign up as a referral though. :{

However long it takes you to sign up. You can sign up, accept the $25, add a bank account (only takes a couple days) and then transfer the $25 and forget about the account if you want. Its all completely legit, like I said I have had no problems with it.
