TRU Screwed up my troop building..

I don't go nuts with troop building and the OCD part of me will not let me have a squad without an officer. So if I'm going to have 10 Neo-Vipers, I need to have 2 Officer Figures (not necessarily a true officer figure, but what I consider officer figures), so would have 2 squads of 6.

So my local TRU never got Bench Press and Snow Serpent. I only had 2 25th/ME Snow Serpents and the next town over's TRU I was only able to grab 2. No squad. :(

So got an auction for 5 25th Snow Serpents the other day. That meant I could use 1 of my TRU as the Officer. Okay, so now I had 1 extra TRU Snow Serpent and 1 extra 25th Snow Serpent.

Today was at my local TRU and they finally got the Snow Serpent/Bench Press.

And I couldn't resist. I had to get 3.

Now my squads are all screwed up.

Suggestion: Use the TRU Snow Serpents as "Night Force" Snow Serpents, and the others as 'regular' Snow Serpents.

As for officers, I have to admit, you got me there.

i used the arctic packs officers as my officers.
i still never grabbed the tru ones yet, i went to tru and they had like 4 joe toys, the place was empty.

hmmm Yeah, I can't troop build for this reason. The only 25th figs I have multiples are Crimson Guards and Iron Grenadiers. I have a bunch of 86 Vipers too tho.

TRU screwed me on the Crimson Guard as well. They gave us TWO officer figures, one in the 3 pack and another in the 5-pack.

So I use one (the 3-pack) for a squad commander (leads 5 CGs) and the other for a platoon commander (leads multiple squads, but I only have one, lol)

I use the ice viper as my officer, but i usually build in troops of 3 - 2 troopers, 1 officer

I was using the RoC Ice-Viper as a unique character, called Snowblind. He was going to be the Copperhead/Wild Weasel type of the arctic forces.

But then that damn 5 buck sale and I picked up a couple more.

My TRU complaint is that all their RoC multipacks seem to come with the neo-viper. Between the many packs I got on sale around Christmas, I have assembled of army of the "turtle vipers" that I swore I would never get. In line with your comments, TRU has made me army build this figure I didn't even want!

Ah, look at it this way. At least you didn't set yourself up to need 6 POC Arctic Dukes because you decided any Cobra in pants that baggy needed a snowboard... then went out and bought six of 'em! Now I have to wait till next year to get the snowboards I bought them for, or pay 20-60 bucks a pop on ebay!

I do agree that every squad needs a leader, tho. I bought 2 of the Arctic 7-packs for the Snow Serpent repaint (and the 4 regular Serpents it netted me), and eventually built 2 squads with 6 Serpents each (plus one Squad Leader).

I also made myself buy 4 Blue HISSes and 4 Arctic HISSes, switched their gun mounts, then bought 4 HISS Drivers, 4 HISS Commanders, and 4 UBP Drivers to operate them all.

It's what you gotta do if your OCD and love GIJoe!

You can always make up a new position for any excess figures. That's what we did in the real army when we had "extra" soldiers. :)

Well several months ago when the Wii games were buy 1 get 1 1/2 off.We ordered 4 games for the kids and i ordered some Joes.It was lil over $300.To make a long story short.Well after calling 12 times and b*tching bout not getting my order.Finally 4 months later we get our package.Then yesterday i got a appology letter from TRU with a giftcard.I also got $25 credit towards shipping.So i called to see how much was on the giftcard and it said $100.I was like ok i forgive them now.LOL Im still alil pissed at them for all the lies and bs though.
