So, I got the Hasbro Catalog yesterday and saw the new Transformers Animated toys. I don't buy Transformers but the lines and color syles on these figures have piqued my interest. Does anyone know when they are coming out? I would have thought they would have been out when the cartoon first started.

Also, are they going to do store exclusives for this line? If so, where?

Thanks

I've seen a few episodes of the new cartoon and it's actually not too bad. It's no Generation 1, but at least it's not like most of the crap we've been getting with a Transformers label slapped on it.

I don't know when they're getting released, but the toys actually look really cool. Especially the Megatron and Starscream figures. For once the robot versions look just like their cartoon countrparts. That's all I ever asked of my G1 figures.

Take a look at the boards at Hisstank's sister: www.tfw2005.com and know it all!

I like the Animated Grimlock and Bulkhead for being very exaggerated, but still recognizable and cool versions of their G1 counterparts (Bulkhead being Hound). I think the others, for the most part, stink. I think that Starscream and Prowl in particular look ridiculous. And that sucks, because they are my two favorite G1 Transformers.

I havent liked any transformer toy lines since Armada. However this one has piqued my interest as well. I've seen lots of pics of Screamer and Megs, and especially Grimlock. I just may have to get some.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind. I looked over there and most of the threads are about reviews of individual figures selling on ebay.

I was hoping someone with some knowledge could answer it before I had to navigate other boards for the answer.

They come out June 22nd. I am a big transformers fan and i collect as well. I droped about 300-400 bucks in the past month on TF figures. And there are no exclusives as far as i know. They will be in all stores.

I believe that they will begin appearing in stores in earnest this summer. Hasbrotoyshop will begin selling a few of them on March 25:

I'm looking forward to them. I plan to get Bumblebee and Black Arachnia at the very least. I'd like them to make a Sari to go with 'Bee but I doubt they'll do that.

Cartoon Network Saturday morning at 10 and a repeat on Sunday morning at 11.

I've been looking forward to these. I haven't collected Transformers since the Alternator line ended. That line was by far my favorite.

The cartoon airs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday not 10:00 but close enough.

I would really like to get my hands on a few of those now but there are others I want that are releasing soon (last wave of Real Gear, Premiums, Salvage, and Stealth Bumblebee). The figures look great and really capture the design of the cartoon. When I originally saw the Animated designs I disliked them but quickly warmed up to them. That is good since I only changed my mind about the movie figures 2 weeks before they were released and I wasn't ready for them like I should have been, poor wallet.

There will be three main size classes for the figures. They are Deluxe at $10 with around 15 figures, Voyager at $20 with about 9, and Leader at $40 with 3. Most if not all will be released between June and December. There are a few other classes like the Cyber Slammers, Activators(?), and Supreme ($50 Optimus Prime) but most are passable compared to the main line figures.

I read an article in Toyfare and it calls the cartoon a "controversial new series." Does anyone know that controversy this series started? Did fans reject the show for some reason?

I think it's ten times better than the original series. It actually makes more sense. Autobots don't fly. They have individual personalities. And, the Decepticons are actually a threat. Whereas the Autobots are workingclass bots, the Decepticons are actual warriors. This makes their face offs more of a challenge.

Its controversial with fans because its style is so different than what longtime fans are used to. The same thing happened when Beast Wars premiered, since it was the first time that Transformers were going to have a complete CGI series(rather than just clips like the G2 intros), and that the Transformers themselves were radically different(techno organic animals).

Its mainly style and the fact that Optimus is not the leader in this one, just the leader of his team and he is young. Ultra Magnus is the autobot leader in this one.
