Ok got to say I never loved the original orange alley viper. However this new color scheme looks great to me. I shall army build them I think. Provided they are not scarce if the rest of us decide the same thing.

I think i'll get one for me one for my kid. Unless they come with a ton of gear, then I will probably get them like they are weapons packs and pick up 5 or 6.

This new Alley-Viper I predict will be THE figure for Joe collectors in 2010. It's basically the COBRA Island version, which was already perfect, with much better colors and extra accessories, AND a new head sculpt.
This Alley-Viper is going to be my top figure to army build this year, unless Hasbro decides to unveil something even better at Joecon, but I doubt it.

If I had the choice, I'd rather army-build the Cobra Island 7-pack version with the classic colors. But given the cost of buying multiple 7-packs or pursuing them on ebay, I may end up settling for this one. I do like this one, I just like the other one better...

The new head sculpt is the same as the one from the Resolute Alley Viper...so technically you could mix the POC Alley Viper with your Resolute Alley Vipers...and possibly swap gear! It's kind of like the Cobra PIT Commando. Comes with a gas mask, Alley Viper helmet, Resolute Alley Viper helmet, and more stuff.

Note to Hasbro: This is how you do repaints. Make them coherent and add something interesting.

a while back i made a custom v2 alley viper but since then i've fallen out of love with it. after seeing this new one i think i'm going to get a head start and paint him in this style with a little more detail than what i can see here !

I may buy three or four at first, and tell myself that will do it, I'll buy no more. But I think it's more likely that as soon as I see you in the store, I'll be snapping up dozens, as many of you as I can, probably knocking over small children in the process. And that will be fine, since those children cannot understand your awesomeness, much less appreciate it on my level. They will be acceptable losses.

I think the new paint scheme sucks royally, but that's good for me as i wanted a squad's worth to repaint anyhow, so the current paint scheme allows for that, guilt-free.

The extra gear will probably make for good trade fodder, so that's kind of a bonus.

See, this is where a chase variant would be sweet. Have this be the normal version, and then do a blue/orange version as the chase. It's a win/win. Well, as long as I get one of each MOC it's a win/win :)

The pics from TF showed him with a Resolute Cobra helmet, a gas mask and a couple of other little things.

Decent looking figure, but I hope they do one with the red swapped for blue. Or would that get too close to the Resolute AV? I'd be all over them if they did the 25th Alley Viper in colors proposed for the 97 version, which was shown using the original mold but wound up using the v2 mold.

Nice to see the Alley Viper getting the single carded treatment. I am a fan of the original orange and blue. This one is okay but I was hoping for a blue and black version, I never got those during the 'Spy Troops' era. Regardless, I'll still get a couple of these, not army building like I did with the Cobra Island sets though.

After a quick and dirty photoshop, I'm so ready for these guys. Three different ways to outfit them (resolute, full face shield, and gas mask). One of the few figures I liked from the 25th line too. Great articulation, a little shorter and better proportioned. I can't wait!
