I use to have it for Sega Master system and I used to love it. I have a Genesis but I haven't been able to find it for the Genesis yet for some reason classic Genesis games aren't around like they use to be. Afterburner was one of the sickest games Sega did

If it does not come with a good flight stick and throttle I'll pass and play the arcade version at Gameworks.

You have to buy your own, the game itself is a downloadable game via Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. Not sure if the Ace Combat 6 stick and throttle set work on Afterburner for 360.

OMG. That looks so cool. *drools* You can even use the Jolly Rogers Super Hornet too. I loved Afterburner. I remember my local arcade had something like Afterburner, but you would have to strap into the arcade cockpit and it would rotate 360 degrees as you moved the stick and it cost 3 bucks to play a single game. God I loved that thing to death.

My only regret of having just bought a PS3 is that I will never get to play Ace Combat 6; maybe this will hold me over until Ace Combat 7. Until then I will just have to keep playing the Shattered Skies mission over and over again I guess. LOL.

Ditto. Being able to sit in the cockpit is key.

Afterburner was one of the first games I ever played in the arcade. Lost lots of quarters that day.

Anyone remember the Afterburner TV show -

Loved the stand-up arcade version with the big joystick. Felt just like flying a jet (to a ten-year-old boy). I know there was the sit-down, moving version in some arcades, too, but the stand-up version sticks out in my memory.

Dude in all honesty Ace Combat X for PSP feels more like a sequel to the Ace Combat series than Ace Combat 6. 6 was addicting online, and sure it fixed the flaws in replays from 4-0, and visuals were phenomenal, but somewhere along the way 6 lost it's touch. I truly hope that the next one has a better multiplayer system, more balanced and that the missions are shorter like the PS2 versions; with the upgrade parts system from Ace Combat X, the RPG-esque unlocking of variants planes from 5, and music reminiscent of 2. The graphics are good, no worries there, but I wanted something that felt more like Ace Combat is.

Also to be honest, I am glad Afterburner Climax is FINALLY making it's way towards consoles! The game was released in arcades a few years back. I was always puzzled why it never made it to 360 or PS3. This is a case of good things happening to those who wait.

I played this game a ton in the arcade but never could get the same feeling on the home console.

I would LOVE to have the cockpit cabinet but I imagine it would cost a grand or more to buy.

LOVED THAT GAME!...Makes me think of early 90's summers, and Terminator 2...This new game looks hype!

LOVED that game. I remember playing that at an arcade at one of the Disneyland hotels when I was a kid! I dumped a lot of quarters on that one.

This was actually released as an arcade game in Europe. The super deluxe console does side to side and up and down motion just like the original. Check out the console here:

Yep and it's about time we get it for consoles! It's been at the arcades for a couple of years now(there but I don't know about the US, never saw it here).

The old one or new one? It is a great experience, I wish I got to try the new one arcade style. Last time I played something like this from Sega was G-Loc

That's probably G-loc! There were Afterburners that Moved, they were a NIGHTMARE to work on. R360 G-Lock was WORSE! The new one is OK, but if you develop electrical issues it's a disaster.
