Cerebral Dissolution

Well, although Sigma 6 has been gone for awhile, I actually didnt get into it until the end, and quite honestly got my interest in GI Joe again, although I pretty much dislike everything a few years before (VvV, Extreme) and since (ROC).
But what really got me interested in Sigma 6 was the 2.5 line, particularly the vehicles. I love them and have them all.
But what really disappointed me were the figs. Just too many in fixed, dynamic poses when all I really wanted in that scale was shoulder, hip and head movement. So it was frustrating that some of my most favorite characters couldn't sit in vehicles, or came with the weapons I wanted.
So to really appreciate the vehicles, and have cool figs to match, I set out to customize the 2.5 line so that I could have at least one 'Normal' Sigma 6 character that could hold a weapon, sit in a vehicle, and wasn't mounted on a stand. For the most part I have been successful, and while these are still a work in progress, I wanted to show off where I am at:
(looks like I am limited in the amount of pics I can upload at once so here at the Joes first)
Long Range is the one that came with the Vamp and ROCC. I cut is right arm up and repositioned it so that I could have him holding his sniper rifle, which I got from the one that came with the Avalanche set, which was slung on his back. Doesn't look very natural since the gun is so big unless he is aiming it over the hood of a car, but whatever.
Next up is Duke, who I really chopped up. Most of him is just the Chow Yung Fat pose from the Circut Breaker set but I only wanted him shooting one pistol so I took the arm from the Jetpack Duke that came with the helicopter set. Alittle stiff, I know, but he is still a work in progress. The important thing he can stand there or pilot a vehicle.
Next is Snake Eyes, who is the figure who comes with the Vamp, but the original had his head looking up and I hated it, so I swapped the head out with the one that comes on the motorcycle, as well as his swords from another Snake Eyes (I forgot which one).
I actually gave Heavy Duty the gun that Hi-Tech is holding in the Unseen Enemy pack, although I thought while it looked like the one he comes with in the 8 inch scale, it is just too big for High Tech. Since it is the biggest 2.5 scale 'official' gun in this series, I gave it to Heavy Duty. I typically dont like making custom weapons and try to stay true to the design of the line, so while it doesnt look like anything Heavy Duty had in 8 inch, its the biggest gun I have for my 2.5 collection.
Next are the some of my favorite: Hound, Hi-Tech, and Lt Stone. Hound I made up from two seperate Hound sets from Unseen Enemy. If you remember, he was attached to the base of Hi-Tech and I hated that. So swapping out some legs I have an independent one. I love Hound in the cartoon, and having him in 2.5 scale makes me smile.
Hi-Tech is basically the same fig that comes with the Iron Hammer, only since he wasnt holding anything, and while I did have guns to spare, I decided to give him the scanner he has in Unseen Enemy. So kind of Star Trek like, but since he does techie stuff and not really fighting most of the time, I like it. I have extra arms so I can give him an extra Snake Eyes Uzi or something.
Lt Stone, which the snow version holding two pistols, is really rare. I got lucky and got two sets. The snow one was meant to mount on a Snow Board, and in its self is actually a cool figure who can aim two pistols at something. But I really like the Lt Stone from the Dragonhawk set, since that looks more like the one we see in the cartoon, so I carefully swapped out a head (I had to make a new mount which is super fragile), and gave him one of the pistols from the extra snow Lt Stone. I love the helmeted version of Lt Stone, dont get me wrong, but I prefer him not wearing it most of the time.
