I know this is a little off topic for Hisstank....

But I have a Kenner Super Powers Hall of Justice I was thinking of customizing with better paint colors than bright yellow...

...So I was wondering uf anybody out there had already done this, or maybe built one from scratch.

There are so many really talented customizers on here I was just curious if anybody had any thoughts, or suggestions...

Tankers are the Best GI JOE fans!!

Sounds great. I'd love something like this as I'm sure my Super Powers figures are tired of hanging out inside a plastic bucket.

Well, if it's in nice condition I'd suggest leaving it... but...

If you're going to customize, I guess you can either go with cartoon accurate, totally realistic, or just a more detailed version of the toy colors. Wasn't it basically an official-looking gray-ish or silver/metal color in the show?

I think it was kind of like a white/gray marble in the classic cartoons...

I've just often thoughI could do better than the loud primary colors it came in...

What do you think?

I think I remember seeing Krylon Fusion spray paint that came in that speckled light gray stone color... maybe you could look for that and give it a sort of marble look? That paint bonds with plastic, so you should get good results. I don't know, I wouldn't paint it unless it's in poor condition, but it's your toy, do what makes you happy!

If you want further inspiration, don't forget it was modeled after the real life Union Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio which is across the street from what was the old Kenner HQ.

If they ever do a movie of JLU they must use this building, it's magnificent!

Although in looking at the old Super Powers Hall of Justice, I'd suggest a custom job, it just looks so blah, and undetailed, even some accessories or decals to spruce it up a bit. It just looks like something you'd get from McDonalds in the 70's from sending in coupons for 1000 happy meals.

I still have my original Hall of Justice. Its missing some pieces from the inside.....but the outside looks great. I have it displayed in back of my Superpowers collection(my favorite toy-line ever!)I think Ill leave mine the color it is but itd be interesting to see a cutom. Post pics if you can! :)

I like the idea of the granite spray paint. Someone with some real skill could make that look awesome.

I would love to see this. Can you take some "before" pics for now? I think you will get better ideas from people if they could see what you have and the shape it is in.

For reference and the uninitiated, here are various pics I found, from the show and of the toy. I think it's obvious based on the complex and colorful interior that the whole thing would probably have to be carefully disassembled, all the pieces primed, then painted, and something would also have to be done about all the stickers and so forth.
