When I was a kid that was one thing me and my dad had in common...Pinball!! I remember in the 80's the great old Midway machines that had sick artwork...things kinda got weak with pinball as time went on. If you go to Dave & Busters those are like 1/2 the size of the pinball machines of the heydey.
1st one I ever played: KISS...it was at a candy store next to my elementary school...the Empire Strikes Back machine always had a line 50 pple deep so I played that...I credit it with making me a fan of classic KISS.
Other cool machines...Playboy, Haunted House, Black Knight.
Is it me or is there something incredibly unique and awesome about old school pinball artwork and aesthetics!?

Ha Ha - My brother and his wife have a Kiss pinball machine and High Speed in their rec room. I was never a big pinball player - I always preferred the video games. But I do enjoy playing my brother's machines (when they are working)

I still love pinball. A few faves off the top of my head are Whirlwind, Hercules, Star Trek TNG, Elvira, and the ever so classic PinBot.

I liked Jurrasic Park and the Haunted house one.
My favorite was the stand-up shinobi game and I have a full version at my house.

They got it maybe 4-5 years ago. My sister in law is a huge Kiss fan, so that was their first machine.
A good friend of ours had to try to 1-up them. He got Comet, Cyclone, Hurricane and Black Rose. Only problem is he has no idea how to maintain them so it's rare that they are working proper. My brother, on the other hand, is an engineer so he usually keeps his working.

Thats pretty damn cool. A friend of the family ended up with an original version of Playboy which sat under a tarp in his garage for a few years because he has no mechanical inclination. He finally ordered a few manuals and found its just basic electrical stuff, mostly relays and fuses....nice to know there some KISS machines out there, good stuff.

Yeah, it had a fan in the top that would start blowing on you when the storm hit. And Hercules was ginormous:

I was trying to remember the name of the gigantic pinball machine. Hercules. Felt like a 5 year old kid playing a normal pinball machine

Hercules was cool and def insanely big..but I remember it not having alot of the lights and bumpers that some of the Midway stuff had...I seem to remember Black Knight and Haunted House having sick artwork and lighting up like something crazy.
Then again, when I was playing I probably couldnt see the flippers in Hercules so I took to other machines :)

Hey, if you have a PS3, 360, Wii or PSP, do yourself a favor and pick up "Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection." Best physics of any pinball video game I've ever played, and it has a bunch of the good old tables, 100% accurate. Black Knight, Space Shuttle, Gorgar, Whirlwind, PinBot, Wizard, a few others.

Just got a PS3 and had NO IDEA that existed! I'm gonna snatch that up just for backgrounds alone...thanks man!

YouTube - Gorgar and Firepower (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuHCrXmW_fM&feature=related)
A cool video I found for a Gorgar review, etc.

Gorgar was the one I was trying to find. I remember being mesmerized by this one in the bowling alleys. I started loving Boris and Frazetta fantasy art from this.
I also liked Twilight Zone of the modernish ones

There was an awesome Simpsons Pin Ball machine at my bowling alley. Not the repro that is out there now. I love playing pinball. Almost never mattered what the machine was, as long as it was good.

I loved pinball the moment I started playing. That was a little over 20 years ago. There is a shop in a town not far from where I live that carries old LPs and has rows of pinball machines. Only a few work. People are usually suprised I like pinball. I remember being like 11 or 12 and beating the arcade manager at pinball. He looked at me like I got lucky. Those late 80's and early 90's machines were so sweet. They had those funky rollercoasters.
I used to go to an arcade near my middle school and play pinball after school. This was the hey day of Mortal Kombat. Bringing back some memories.

the best i've played is a newer star wars one that had a little death star in the top right corner. you got to shoot storm troopers, it was great. in the same vein as the jurassic park and indiana jones ones from the late 90's, i think.

What about the old Star Trek The Next Generation Pinball machine?
I'd love to have one of those things.
