Yeah, I live in the same general area, Mid/Lower MI, and winter can be really irritating.

No snow here since early January. What I found amusing was I picked up an old magazine in our break room last week and found an article that was about three years old. It was about being warmer in January and it was a sign of global warming to come in the next few years. I don't know. I just don't see it coming.

I wish it would snow more here in NC. I remember the "big" snow in '89.. like 12" in Raleigh, it was awesome.

winter used to be consistent and reliable when i was a kid - guaranteed several feet of snow in PA. now, it gets cold, we get and inch or two, then it gets up to 60, and starts all over again. it wrecks my sinuses, the constant cold/hot b.s. even when i lived in anchorage, it still got up to the mid-90s in the summer. if i could, i'd move to antarctica. but the shipping for all the toys i'd have to order...

in april we thought winter was done last year in kc, then it frosted and dumped a bunch of snow all over the new growth. it killed practically everything. march is no guarantee of spring around here. i can deal with snow but please no more friggin' ice!

Those of you that live in warmer climates can go and die.
I live in Wisconsin/N. Illinois and we have been getting snow on-and-off for about 3 months. You warmer people don't know how it is to drive in 2 feet of snow!! It's miserable, worst time of the year.
I wish it were only spring and fall....THAT'S IT

Our winter here in Pensacola,Florida lasted for about 3 days. That consisted of "freezing cold winds of 32 degrees". Yeah. It's always hot here, and it's always raining. You wouldn't like it.

I am real damned sick of it. It wouldn't be so bad if the weather didn't change so drastically throughout the week.
One day its in the mid 70's, two days later it's a friggin blizzard...

i'm so sick of the snow that i quit shoveling, I QUIT!...my wife is pi$$ed but i don't care...she is worried about what the neighbors will think...F'em!...i want them to not like me so that they will stop talking to me and bugging me so that i can do more important things...yesterday when she came home from work she shovled the driveway and the tool neighbors helped...what do they think, that if they are nice, maybe someday, just possibly, she might "gratify" them?..."HAH FAGS!"
wow, i just re-read that and i sound like the biggest douch a-hole...look what this snow is doing to me!

Psssh. Living in Mid Michigan, winter can bite me. I'm friggin' tired of winter. Know why?
Because never once living in NYC did I ever have to question someones ability to drive in the snow. Yet here, in the state SHAPED LIKE A MITTEN, it seems that everyone has to be reminded how to drive every time it snows.
Own an SUV? Do 25 MPH
Own a Le Car? Doe 95 MPH
Whiteout conditions? No problem! Just do 80 and then slam on your brakes!
Yeah, if you didn't notice...I'm still not yet completely comfortable with this State.

It's amazing. 90 in the right lane, 55 in the left. Four Wheel Drive means claws come out of your tires and grip in to the ice like "THE ANIMAL" toy from the 80's. It's insane.

There was a lady in a Mazda 3 next to me on yesterday morning. She must have had her foot to the floor and the tires were spinning like mad crazy and she was moving like an inch at a time. So she could have used some "claws on her tires" for sure.
Then as I'm about to get off an exit on 96 (on my way to an interview) some guy starts doing 360's in front of me and a few other cars. All I see is snow flying all over and brake lights. Luckily nobody hit anyone and we all kept moving along while Evil Knievel just sat there in a huge snow pile.
As for as people needing reminding how to drive...it will never happen. I've lived here my whole life and it hasn't changed.

No, I love winter (not that we get one where I live). Why people want summer weather all year round is beyond me. Such a situation really would indicate the death of the planet. I'll take cold in winter & heat in summer - that's the way things should be and any deviation from that pattern is bad news for all of us.

I love winter too. I can't stand hot summer weather all the time. The funny thing is, i am from Texas and i love snow and winter more than the heat...

i used to hate the really hot summers too, but then i got a pool and now when its super hot i get excited, even if i'm at work sweating my balls off cause i know i get to swim...
and where the heck if this "global warming" i keep hearing about...it actually seems colder to me...
i leave my car running 24-7 to try and speed up this "global warming"

Sorry to turn professor on you, but global warming is a global climate trend. Local weather patterns over short time scales are just a small part in a much larger picture.
Personally, I'm a little tired of snow. The forecast is for 15" total by tomorrow (not as common here in SW Ohio). Even my kids are sick of it.

Global warming is exactly that; A trend. These things come and go over the lifespan of our planet. It was hot for 8,000 years before the entire planet froze over almost completely. Now the cycle is just restarting. That's life. The scientific community has just begun to acknowledge this.

Earth's climate has been changing throughout its 4.5 billion year history. The scientific community has known about this for a very long time -- warming and cooling of the planet is not unexpected. The concern the scientific community has is that this warming trend is especially rapid, it's occuring during a time of expected cooling, and it coincides with a dramatic increase in carbon dioxide released through human activities.

Snow is meant for one week of the year....Christmas week. Otherwise...if its gonna snow, it should snow like it does in those Walgreen's commercials - not on roads or sidewalks. lol
