View Full Version : Ebay sellers that hold you hostage with feedback.

I've found that alot of sellers with 100% feedback kept it by not leaving feedback until the buyer does. So, if your dissatisfied with a Joe purchase, (like I recently was) you can leave neg. feedback but the scumbag can do likewise; even though you made immediate payment. Ebay should fix this practice.

I didn't think that sellers could leave buyers negative feedback.

No they Can't Ebay put a rule up almost 2 years ago that a seller can not leave anything but positive feedback

That's kinda stupid (no negative feedback for buyers). Why even have feedback if you're not warning sellers about dead-beat buyers? Also, someone's buying record is just as important to me as his selling record if he's selling to me. If he's unethical doing one, he'll eventually be unethical doing the other.

I agree. It is stupid. There are as many bad buyers as there are bad sellers.

That's what I have been trying to figure out for the last 2 years blayze5150 I had about 12 buyers that never paid and I can't tell the rest of the world because I can't show it in feedback.
They get what is called and unpaid item strike if a buyer gets 3 of them with in 3 months they are banned from eBay.
But you don't know if the buyer has one its not showed to the public

What to do when a buyer doesn't pay (unpaid item process) (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/unpaid-items.html)
And that part were eBay said "you may be credited back for the listing fee" is a lie I have never gotten a credit on the listing fees.
and it has happened over 12 times

This is a classic case with eBay not being fair.

But couldn't the seller write negative comments in the postive feedback so at least people who read them can see the truth?

My wife and I sell on ebay don't leave feedback until they leave it cause alot of time buyers don't leave feedback. She has 265 feedback received and she has left over 400. Tuesday I left feed back for 21 transactions and so far we've only received 3 in return. I don't know maybe a lot of sellers are like this. Were like this cause we don't like boosting other seller scores when they don't do it in return.

I have been guilty of not leaving feedback till the buyer does. Sometimes I do it on purpose (I've been hit with neutrals because someone thought MIB meant MIMB IE: Mint In Mint Box, I listed it correctly, but they misunderstood and I was punished, it didn't seem fair to me)
Sometimes however, I just forget to do it and then I see someone left feedback for me and I'll then remember that I haven't left any for them.
