Good call on the Skystriker, Ice Sabre, and Defiant!
VAMP packaged with MMS. Maybe a slight redesign of the VAMP seating area to accomodate bigger Joe's?
Moray Hydrofoil I
Stinger w/ some slight mod. Maybe an interchangeable missile pod/gun/laser battery. Also the Rattler 4WD w/ Vypra. Keep the urban camo look.
Hiss I w/ Driver
It would be cool to see some other jets like the F-18 Hornet for the Flagg. Then they could package the Flagg with the Hornet. Ok, so that would be living in a dream world. I don't think they'll ever make the Flagg again.

My Bunch,

*merged threads since they were similar in nature*
The terrordome would be awesome. If they do an updated one(all new mold) they can make it modular, so you can keep attaching as many pieces as you like. So you can start off with a big terrordome, and end up with a HUGE one. For the brilliance of modular playsets in joe scale, check out Card inc.'s Harry Potter playsets in the new Tomart's magazine; a shining example of why joe scale is ideal for vehicles and playsets.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Spytroops cobra mountain playset, and the 2nd gijoe hq.

Updated 25th Rattler
So long as the Skystriker is still based on the F-14 and the Rattler is still A-10 based, I'm all for it!
Also, I would like to see the proportions remain good. The original vehicles had good proportions compared to more recent ones. For example, 1 look at the skystriker you see a well fighter plane unmistakenly based on the F-14. With the Rattler you see a well proportioned derivative of the A-10. The cockpits may have been roomier on the toys for the sake of fitting gijoe figures inside, but nothing else is sacrificed, everything else is still in proportion. The original vehicles were almost never to scale with the figures, they were usually underscaled, but nonetheless, none of them had bloated proportions. Everything resembled their real life counterparts well until you hit the cockpit interiors, but this is understandable and still kept vehicles at a great size for playing. Compare this to the Thunderwing. It looks like a bloated F-22. Would it be this way without the electronic gimmick? probably not.
So the skystriker had better proportions and more closely resembled its real life counterpart far more than the thunderwing did. The ghost striker exceled at this too. Even the Liquidator, as small as it was.
So thats what I'd want in updated vehicles. Vehicles with good proportions, proportionate to their real life counterparts and no bloatedness, yet enough room for a joe figure to sit in. The skystriker was a shining example of how this was possible. In fact, if you didn't see the joe figures in cockpit, it would just be a regular F-14 toy with realistic proportions! One cannot say the same for the Thunderwing. The thunderwing is fun, but its built from a different premise, one that might not appeal to us older folks.
As a matter of fact, its my opinion that joe strayed away from this formula after the NAC was made in 2002. After that we got a bloated HISS, chubby ground vehicles and the chubby/squashed Skysweeper. With the skysweeper it was more like "okay we are going to make a F-117 deformed around a gijoe, rather than make a proportionate F-117 and scoop out enough room in the cockpit for him". See what I mean? Compare the X-30 Conquest to the skysweeper. Big difference.
The DTC vehicles were a step in the right direction and since this year leading to next is our year, I hope the ARAH direction of well proportioned vehicles prevails in an updated form.
"I'd take a reissue skystriker, and an updated Skystriker based on an F-14!"
Add to that, I want a Solar Stiletto, that cobra spaceship from the late 80's.
Storm Eagle(Small but not bloated and out of proportion looking, looks more like a YF-23 than the thunderwing looks like the F-22)
Liquidator

Does it really matter being that the new figures can't even fit into vehicles?
Well if they ever DO get around to fixing that problem, I need a new Cobra TRUBBLE BUBBLE. That was an essential troop-building vehicle that you can never find vintage in great condition.
And of course the USS FLAGG, TERROR DROME, and Space Shuttle DEFIANT. Keep them all $250 and below and... ah, a man can dream.

I was replying about the hips being fixed to enable the figures to sit better. I doubt the FLAGG will come back out. If it does, I will be amazed. To be honest, I'm surprised it even came out back in the 80's. There has been nothing to top that vehicle in this scale, not from joes, not from any other line. Thats how unique it was, thats how great it was. It cannot be topped, not without paying a small fortune.
I do hope that it does come out though. Thats got to be historic, a 3-3/4" scaled 7 foot long playset. Not even Kenner's Death Star playset for the Star Wars line was that big!

Aww, c'mon. I admit, $250 is a grip, but you would'nt pay that for a BRAND NEW, Reissued, USS Flagg or Defiant? That would be great compared to the Ebay prices for a vintage ones.
We're paying $100 a pop on Masterpiece Transformers. $250 for 7 feet of Flagg would be AWESOME! Yeah, let's get Hasbro on this (as if they'd ever do it)! Be good Americans. Repeat after me: Reissue Flagg! Reissue Flagg...!

That is a good price considering buying one and the pieces to make it complete on ebay can fetch nearly $1,000 out of box.

Ok, you have a point there. But Hasbro better not do a half-ass job on the Flagg or the Defiant. Like add on a few more details as they did with the 25th anniv figures.
Definitely, a lot cheaper than the originals selling on evil-Bay!

NightRaven (i had 2 of these).
It makes me weep to think of all the great vehicles I had in perfect condition (especially the X19) that my parents gave away. :( At least I still have most, if not all, of my vintage figs.
Considering how much I've spent on Valkyries, I'd be willing to spend up to $300 or so for something like the Flagg. How much was it's original MSRP back in 85 anyway? I never saw it in stores.

yeah, WIth THIS days economy, I don't reallyt see any toy company making any big playsets anymore.
....but if parents will shell out 500 bucks for an Xbox,........ who knows?
I would like to see some of the older, smaller vehicles and playsets come back, like the Watchtower or Biouvac, or vehicles like the Devilfish, Flight Pod(trouble Bubble), and F.A.N.G. that way, a low buying price would enable us to buy a lot, and increase our "army Builders" equipment.
as for big vehicles. I would like to see the WHale come out, or a New H.I.S.S> tank, but based off the ORIGINAL design, sort of an updated tech on an original theme.

another issue is the original molds, a lot of the original molds are now lost. ( Know that was the issue they said at the last convention, that holds up Hasbro and Mastercollector)

They could create a new mold and fix some of the issues with the originals such as the fans and missile launchers on the WHALE. Key word...could.
It would be cool to see a HISS tank come out with interchangeable weapons, so you could platform it to be all missiles, or big guns, or what have you.

UH, the DTC version kinda has that function.
I for one, if they do decide to make new mods, go back to having a somewhat realistic style vehiclesLike cobra getting slightly modified Migs, or Joes getting a decent APC (one that holds at least 10 figures)
And I would love to see Hasbro's take on a G.I.Joe Blackhawk. Or maybe a cargo plane large enough to fit vehicles inside.

well, the Newer vehicles will depend on the popularity of the Movie, and the success on the exclusive Target Hiss and Sharc. (SO BUY A LOT OF THEM!!!!) as of right now, they have no other plans to release them. Same deal witht he playsets. if the movie is a hit like Transformrs was, they in late 2009, or 2010, we will see a large resurgence of playsets and figures.
unfortunetly, we wil have to deal with toys based off the movie.

I'm curious what folks would think of (and since i've never scene them in person, if they'd even work) some of the better modern vehicles redone as 25th anniversary vehicles.
A lot of the modern stuff is a bit too out there for me, but the Humvee is a great example.
looking through YoJoes arcchives, seems like the Patriot Grizzly would be a good neo-M.O.B.A.T.
the Ninja Lighting Cycle could be redeco'd as the Silver Mirage.
The Air Assualt as the C.L.A.W.
lose the OTT quad cannon and the Venom Striker quad could be redon as the Ferret ATV
The Pirahna attack boat doesnt ahve an obvious analog to me, but is a fairly realistic looking vehicle that could be re-used.
(and good grief is most of the modern stuff weird ~ i think it's mostly the abundance of gigantic turrets and huge firing missiles)

I also got rid of tons of vehicles from the 80s, all in great condition and very few missing parts, but I at least got some money for them (far less than they'd all be worth now). However, I also sold all my figures, most in great condition and again very few missing parts and all their file cards. Sold them all in one shot for a few hundred dollars :(
Back on topic, a new Terror Drome would kick ass, but my wife would want to kick mine for buying one.
I'd also like to see for Cobra and other bad guys:
Thunder Machine
Destro's Dominator
Night Raven
Rattler
Stinger
A.S.P.
and for the Joe's:
H.A.V.O.C.
Desert Fox
Rolling Thunder
Mauler M.B.T. (always preferred this over the M.O.B.A.T. since figures fit completely inside the tank)
A.P.C.
Mobile Command Center w Triple T (or another vehicle that fits inside if there is one)
Defiant Space Shuttle Complex :D

Star Wars is the template for 3/34 scale line. If big vehicles flop there then its generally assumed that they will flop in other lines as well. Thus if Hasbro doesn't see the return for creating a new (not reissue) large scale vehicle then they'll be scrapped everywhere. Thats where the majority of Hasbro's fears lie. The enormous cost of creation and design. Comparatively, theres little upfront cost in a simple exclusive repaint.
You also have to consider that the 25th line more closely resembles Star Wars in percentage of adult collectors buying. VVV and Sigma Six did not. Execs at Hasbro need something for a base and to a nonJoe fan Star Wars is gonna be the closest thing.
Plus you have to consider that for the huge success of the Shuttle there was just as much failure in the AT-AT, released at the same time.

A Skystriker in modern naval ghost gray with a low-vis scheme would rock. A Mobat or Mauler would be nice too.

Well since the VAMP was my very first gijoe piece I definitely want that to be one of the vehicles. I hope they can redesign some minor details and modify them to be more modern. I think they could make the driver Clutch a nice edition as well.
The Sky Hawk is also very cool. These are both small and not a big gamble if they dont sell too many although I am certain they would do fine.
I would also love to see the hovercraft but kind of doubtful they would make something that large. Whatever they do I will be happy with because whoever designs the vehicles does a great job.

The problem with this is that I believe Star Wars fans (like me) are a bit burnt out by buying the same big vehicles every 5 years. Why would I want another AT AT for 90 DOLLARS, when I have two from the last time they came out?

Star Wars and Batman figures are Go##amn ridiculous. As cool as some are it is unbelievable how many remakes there have been and continue to be produced. The early GIjoe vehicles were so well designed even back in the early 80's that I think just some minor changes would really breathe some new life into them. I am really excited to see what they do with them.

I missed out on that behemoth when it was $15 clearanced at kb toyworks. Man do I regret not picking it up back in 97!

Agreed. Even the Conquest, with a new interior sculpted cockpit, would be great. The reason I mention it is because there is a lot of internal room in its cockpit.
The Skyhawk could have transparent plastic beneath a frame this time, rather than being just a glassless frame. The Skystriker could have a more detailed cockpit.

right, which goes back to my original point about the AT-TE and the problem with using the success of the Imp Shuttle as the template

Any new vehicles are going to require a bit of retooling. This weekend, I bought some vintage vehicles from a friend. I had to basically force the 25th Cobra trooper into the driver's seat of the original HISS. Even Cobra Commander which is a very thin figure compared to the rest, had major issues fitting in the driver's seat. Most of the figures are just too tall. The Cobra trooper barely fits on the Ferret. He can't even sit completely on the seat. I also noticed the Driver's seat of the Thunder machine is way too small for 25th figures. I'm hoping this is taken into consideration by Hasbro rather than just giving us reissues that are not compatible with 25th figures.

I noticed these figures are a bit taller at 4" and was wondering how well they fit in some vehicles. I was thinking of getting a Thunder Machine, guess that idea is out.
I thought that the three vehicles planned so far were going to be straight re-releases of the originals. That doesn't sound so good for the HISS tank.

This reminds me of the case with a Star wars vehicle a few years back. You see, when Attack of clones was released, Hasbro made a ship for the bounty hunter Zam Wessell. This was a very small speeder, with an even smaller cockpit. I tried so hard to fit this figure in the cockpit with no luck. She ended up looking like a mummy in coffin rather than a pilot. Fans felt the same as I did. They asked Hasbro about this only to have them reply with "Zam fits fine in the cockpit with a little work". Yeah right. There was no way possibly to adjust the figure to sit in the ship, and look as though she is piloting it. I guess hasbro's idea of a figure fitting properly in a vehicle is different than mine.

Oh yea the Phantom X-19 has enough room for the figures as well. The Ghost Striker X-16 should too.

When considering this thread, it might be good to remember, even if Hasbro doesn't re-tool these vehicles for the 25th, most of us still have some cherished O-ring figures that will rock on in these vehicles.
I have fit a 25th figure in the IMP (mostly a standing vehicle), the Thunderwing (with a little work), and the Stellar Stilletto.
If vehicles came out that could not accomodate 25th, but would work with our "vintage" figures, would we still buy them? I think plenty of us would...

They would have to remake some of the vehicles to fit the series they would be released with. Kind of silly to think they would just resell the originals again. I guess we did see a couple of pics already that didnt look much different.

I picked up a vintage RAM to display with the 25th Joes and it actually looks pretty good. I've got Lady Jay driving and she's a bit crouched, but she fits. It made me want to go back and find an old VAMP to play with as well. I didn't realize these figures weren't even in the same scale as the old Joes.
