I don't know if maybe someone local just returned some stuff to a bunch of stores, but our TRU had a Sky BAT, another Wal-Mart had a Sky BAT and a "good" Firefly and what looked to be a case of the 2.5" mini-vehicles (I'm not that familiar with them) and Target in Prattville had a Ninja BAT from out of nowhere.

I scanned the Ninja BAT thinking if it was old stock at $5 or so I'd get it, but it was $10.

Is anybody else seeing this, or is it just me?

Yeah, those are either returns (most likely, though why Walmart still has the crap in their system...) or "lost" stock.

When I worked at Walmart, every few weeks we would get down and check under the risers (shelves) in the store, it was AMAZING what you could find pushed underneath that crap. Depending on the store, some may not have looked in some places for YEARS.

I've also seen Walmart routinely dig out old product, especially less well run stores. Entire CASES could easily get lost in the back.

But Hasbro is NOT shipping out new Sigma Six product.

I've noticed some sigma six lately too, at two stores, but they were out of my usual familiarity zone so I couldn't say they just appeared there, may just still be there from all that time ago.

It would be cool to find those mechas.

With Hasbro...there is no telling really.

No...the items mentioned were explicitly "Sigma Six" product.

In early 2007, the Sigma Six name was dropped from the merchandise in favor of just "GI Joe". Which means, at minimum, this product is 3 years old. Hasbro does not just have that kind of stock sitting around for that long, it would have ended up at a discount venue long before now.

And more importantly, aside from the 2.5 figure sets (which may well have been a "lost case"), if stores were still getting cases of Sigma Six, they'd have more than just army builders there. That says to me it was a collector returning stuff he had laying around.

Oddly enough, I found a Cobra Commander at Goodwill yesterday for $1. I know, not actual retail, I just thought it was odd since I've never seen Sigma 6 at Goodwill.

For a dollar that it's awesome. I miss my Zartan figure.

Yeah, my Kmart is still stocked with an odd assortments of the Sigma Six figures and my local TRU has a bulk of this one Duke with a mini gun they can't seem to get rid of.

I have seen lots of Toy Lines from past years popping up all over this year. I also noticed there weren't a lot of after Christmas discounting going on last year, like years past.
IMHO I think retailors are stashing toys as opposed to losing money on discounting. I think they just roll them into the next years Christmas sales.
It's just us adult collectors who shop all year long.

I spotted some at the Roses the other day. They were action packs or something. Smaller figures in banged up older boxes. I figure it was old stock or lost items. The Roses isn't known for having brand new items.

Wow...it was a joke. You know, with Hasbro, there is no telling what the eff they will do.
