Even though he basically a full repaint of Grand Slam, I was looking forward to this guy, as he was my favorite character of the series.

So, did people purchase this at retail or was it a faux pax like what happened in 2005 with the Marvel Legends prototypes at Wal-Mart (Wal-Mart heads meeting with Toy Biz, prototypes in package left, were put out in the floor accidentally).

Because if it went retail, I would imagine that several hundred at least were produced. The fact that six people have them, I would imagine that more were produced, even if it was a short run.

As far as I know only product samples (Mock-Ups) were made. They never hit retail.

wait a minute, i need to ask this question cuz i thought i had heard before when sigma six's final line was out. he was NEVER released? cuz i definitely saw this figure in a store in louisiana and PASSED on it because i was told the only rare version of him was the version where he is packaged with the "Sigma 6" logo. is this right? cuz if not, then im going to punch myself in the face. i remember asking this before too and i thought i was right at the time.....oh lord....

While cleaning up, i found an old Toy Fare magazine(#115) and immediately started searching for this figure!...only to be sad that he is on ebay for like $1000 or something out of my reach. dang. I would love Hasbro if they would mass produce him!

And there will be more. I myself bought 3 of these last week, and there's still more on taobao. Maybe this is a short little supply trickling out, but it might also be the start of a big warehouse haul and the value on these could plummet. So you could take the chance to wait it out til the price falls.
