G.I.Joe Live Action Movie - New, Old or Mixed Characters?

It has been reported we will see High Tech, Heavy Duty, and Neo viper in the movie. Is this what you want to see or would you rather have seen Sparks, Roadblock and Viper?

gimme 86 and before characters. These are the characters the majority of the audience will recognize. oh wait its not about what we want, because if we get what we want the movie will fail. ;)

I want to see a mix. I kinda want this movie to be the newer G.I. Joes, same type as in the 80's but with maybe updated weapons/uniforms...

I'm torn. I don't mind all the newer characters, but get past 1987 and I'm pretty much out of the loop. I'd prefer the old Vipers, or classic Cobra troopers to the Neo Vipers but I'm not going to be upset because of it. I'm just excited to know that Duke, Hawk, and Snake Eyes will actually be appearing on a movie screen. I still can't believe it took more than 20 years to make this happen.

I'd like to see a mix. Definitely more of the '82-'88 guys, but some '02-'06 (which is more or less updated older ARAH guys anyways). I'm not too crazy about the early '90's stuff. I definitely don't want to see Metalhead. I'll kill someone if he shows up.

amen to that metalhead ruined many cartoon episodes. I think he had a drug addiction they didn't want the kids to know about. He always acted like he was strung out on something bang bang bang kablooie

I personally perfer the 82 through 87 era of GI Joe just because that is where most of the mythology of GI Joe comes from. At least for me. However, if it takes some of the valor vs venom type stuff to get 8 year olds into it, then right on.

However, since, Destro, Duke, the Baroness, Rock and Roll, Shipwreck, Scarlett etc etc has always been a mainstay, I think that just proves my point about the classic stuff that much more.

I don't think we have to worry about Venomous Maximus making the film. Other than him it's all good. Although i just can't stomach heavy duty. But that is just me. You know in the spy troops movie they actually tried to make heavy duty the joes cook. what an insult.

exactly!!! But hey, I grew up with GI Joe. My father was in the Navy and thought it was cool that I had this interest when my other brothers didn't so I got poured with all the GI Joe toys in 82 through 86 definately. I was lucky and spoiled.

tonight I watched Van Helsing with looking at it from a GI Joe movie point of veiw and honestly I think that sommers dude will do a pretty good job with this movie. So I am stocked.

Why do I feel this is a dig at me... LOL... I want the old school core members up to 86 like you said, but it would be nice to see some of the other characters in the BG of PIT scenes.

I don't even know who Metalhead is??? I kinda got out of the loop come 1990.
