Target seems to be the place in the Springs, they had multiples of everything, including black Timber and restock regulary. TRU only had singles once, but the 5-packs have been restocked a few times. One of the WM, saw singles once, no 5 packs. All 3 stores had new Sigma stuff. Haven't checked K-Mart.

I have seen pretty much everything everywhere. I bought most of my stuff at Target and Toys R Us. I have seen a few in Wal Marts here in the Springs. I haven't seen any new Sigma stuff since I found Flint.

I found'em all at Target on South Academy and the Super Taget, but that was awhile ago. Haven't checked the other stors. TRU just redid the toy aisles and they no longer have tags for the 25th anniversery stuff, but they have new Sigma stuff.

Hey! There are other Joe collectors in the Springs! I wondered where all the stuff was disappearing to!

I've had the best luck at the K-Mart on Nevada and a little bit at the Powers K-Mart. South Academy Target is good as well. TRU is a major disappointment. But they do have some of the Chap Mei line for Animal Planet, so it's not a total loss.

Hey there everyone. I am a Denver Metro-Area collector. I am new to collecting GI Joe, but not new to collecting action figures. I have been collecting Star Wars 3 3/4" since 1995 and also have complete collections of Lord of the Rings and Simpsons.

I grew up playing with GI Joes and always loved them. But it wasn't until the 25th Anniversary figures hit that I decided I needed to collect them as well.

I have found over the years that these message boards are extremely helpful in locating new and hard to find figures. I for one am more than willing to buy extra figures for other board members and sell them at cost. I will also hide figures for others if I know you live near the stores I frequent (S/E Metro DEnver). This has worked great in Star Wars collecting.

I am probably telling everyone something you already know, but, the point is I am here to help others as it will ultimately help me as well.

I will be sure to post when and if I locate any wave 2 figures in the next couple weeks.

I live in Federal Heights and I went to Target in Boulder and Walmart in Lafayette today and there were no wave 2 figures yet to speak of.

Finally found wave 2 tonight at the Chapel Hills Wal-Mart. They had three cases cracked two of them and got some sweet carded figs of all them! Feels good to finally found something! So get cracking colorado collectors they are out!

Wave 2 found in Denver!!

I picked up every figure from wave 2 this morning (0530) at the Arapahoe Rd. & Lima Wal-Mart. There was exactly one of each figure on the pegs. When I left they still had wave 1 remnants (Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander).

I hit 9 stores, and only found one set a Target - 3 of those stores each had the remains of one case (CC, SS, SE), and one walmart had those extras from 3 cases, so someone probably bought all 3 sets. bah!

Target on Gartrell - nuttin Joe, the remnants of DCSH Clayface/Catwoman wave but theose were gone
Target on Arapahoe/Clinton - zip
Target on Buckley - zilch
Target by Aurora mall - zero
Target by Buckingham - bah!
Target on County Line/University - picked up a wave 2 set for a guy stationed in Japan on JBL, but nothing else new. Had the Bruce Wayne DCSH figure but nothing else from that wave (missed it AGAIN!! )

so other than the last one, not much out there. So I'm sure stuff will hit tomorrow... :(

Might not hurt if you know a lot of MA Joe collectors. The first CO one was brought together by just posting someone was driving threw Co Springs and we all got together there. A Pennsylvania one was brought together by someone posting a area in the middle of where he knew people were and figured out that way. First I'd suggest getting a MA thread going and then figuring out when a good day would be to get together and meeting. CO one we met at a restaurant in the Springs (Hooters) and then did some trading outside the store after meeting and eating lunch and shopping.

My wife found a ton of stuff this weekend. She found all of wave three (two red ninjas). She got the entire wave of the new commando sigma's with Dark Ninja Master and Crime Boss Destro. Then on Saturday we were out messing around and stopped by Toys R Us and found the Combat Squad 3 pack. Pretty good weekend and the best wife a man could wish for!

Well, I hope my PMs helped some of you out that were missing Wave 2. As for last night, I hit 3 Wal-marts and a Target. Nothing. One of the Wal-marts has completely gotten rid of GI Joes except for the old 12" ones. I've seen that at a couple of Wal-marts. No Joes whatsoever. This one is the one off of Hampden and Quebec.

For the other two Walmarts, I "happened" to be there when the pallets came out and found nothing but Spider-man toys. They are the one off of Parker Ave and near Arapahoe. I then visited that Target off of Arapahoe and found nothing there too.

You know every time I hit those last three stores I find nothing. I always had this feeling that Eplanet Toys sends their guys out and cleans up the Wal-marts in the area. Or maybe there's a higher concentration of collectors over there. What do you guys think?

I actually live right there at Parker & Arapahoe, and I know the guys at ePlanet too - they actually don't buy anything from the stores for resell. They used to buy stuff from the scalpers a few years back, but the way the market is, it all comes direct from the manufacturer now. The only Joes they got in was wave 1, and I got my case there. They haven't had any 25th Joes for sale since summer (which sucks!).

I just think that either I'm missing the scalpers or the stores haven't even got them in. The parker/arap got wave 2 in about 2 weeks ago, becuase I found like a dozen of the CC, SE & SS from the case but nothing else. There's a guy on ebay selling them, and his location is "HOT WHEELS, CO" so I'm guessing he's getting to the cases.

I can totally verify that we have scalpers in the area because one of the Hot Wheels guys I used to run into all the time admitted it to me. He basically told me he pays for his HW by scalping other lines. He practically shoved me out of the way to get to some Star Wars stuff (which I don't even collect) and the back of his car was FULL of boxes ready to be shipped. Real nice, huh?

Anyway, I don't hunt much anymore because, well, lately it's not called hunting. It's called wasting gas. I got my wave 2 over at the Walmart off of Exposition and Abilene. That was about a month ago. I have managed to piece together a whole wave 1 and 2 but wave three is no where to be found. They're not being scalped around here because they just don't exist.

When I do go hunting--maybe once a week anymore--I usually hit the stores early. 6:30 am early. That's earlier than the scalpers. If you guys are looking for anything, LMK. I only collect Joe and I really only want one of each. I'd be happy to help out when I can.

I don't mean to disparrage a guy I really don't know, but how would you know he doesn't pick up stuff. Would he actually tell one of his customers that he's cleaning up the competition so he can have a local monopoly on a product? It makes sense for a business to buy stuff cheap and sell it for a mark up. You can't fault a business for thinking that way. However, as a collector, you CAN fault a scalper cleaning up the local stock. Why wouldn't they go to the local stores on their way in? Oh, unless there's some sort of tax penalty or crime problem in them doing this.

As for scalper stories, I got a doozy. I'm walking into a Wal-mart and stroll over to the Toy section. Sitting in the Hot Wheels section is this guy on the ground over a pile of cars. He's opening up a mystery package. He looks up at me as I pass by him on the way to Joe Nirvana. He jumps up, grabs his stuff, and tells me to wait. He then barrels through me and leaps (literally) at the Transformers.

He then yells, "Mine," as he puts his back to all the Transformers. I gingerly walk past him and look at the Joes, miraculously untouched. He sees I'm uninterested and walks back to his Hot Wheels meditation chamber.

I then go back to the Transformers and start to look through them. Every couple of seconds, I'm glancing at him. I have enough sense to know what's valuable there but really don't care. I pick up some of the rarer ones and move them over an isle.

Hot Wheels Troll is still oblivious.

I pick up a Voyager Optimus Prime and start walking around him. I stop over him and look at the Hot Wheels.

He looks up and sees what I have. The freak reaches up and tries to grab the package. I step back, while acting oblivious.

He stands up and demands I return it to his . . .

And he looks back and sees his Transformers section has been rifled through. He runs back there, at the same time, giving off that Rancor whine of defeat you hear in Return of the Jedi.

I don't mean to disparrage a guy I really don't know, but how would you know he doesn't pick up stuff. Would he actually tell one of his customers that he's cleaning up the competition so he can have a local monopoly on a product? It makes sense for a business to buy stuff cheap and sell it for a mark up. You can't fault a business for thinking that way. However, as a collector, you CAN fault a scalper cleaning up the local stock. Why wouldn't they go to the local stores on their way in? Oh, unless there's some sort of tax penalty or crime problem in them doing this.

I totally understand your skepticism; the reason I know they don't buy anything at retail to resell anymore is a few factors - they can't mark anything up enough to make the effort worthwhile, because the hunt is as fruitless for them as it is for me. The manager used to stop and pick things up for me, but he never finds anything anymore so he stopped even looking about a year ago. They only have 2 employees, one of which isn't even a "toy" person, so they don't have much time to spend looking for stuff. They used to actually buy Marvel Legends from scalpers a few years back, but it they stopped that a while back. They have been in the process of closing for the past few months, so they are pretty much just selling off the existing inventory and not really selling new stuff as much.

I know these things because the owners are old friends of mine, and they speak pretty honestly with me. I've worked in that business since HS, so I totally know how it goes. Not to say they they don't markup the hot items, because every shop does that. But as far as buying at retail for resale, they just don't bother with it. Too much hassle. They still get new manufacturer shipments, like DC Direct and Star Wars though.

Don't bother going to Buckley/ Quincy Target, Southlands WM or Gartrell Target

They all have dick. It looks like Gartrell Target did have get something as there was 1 SE and two Stormies (two days ago they didn't have a single figure.) So I guess I won't be hitting *that* store for another month. :rolleyes:

I did pick up a Torture Rack Han Solo at Southlands for the torture rack (sweet dio piece BTW. I'm thinking brainwave scanner). Han will find a nice home in my custom fodder pile.

I managed to get two sets and I left the others. One walmart had about 6 Cobra Officers, and as I was checking out with my 5 figures the lady said "oh you're the second person today who boughts these!" and I said "oh really?" and she replied, "yes one man came in and bought about 20 of these."

But between the 4 stores, I was able to make 2 sets. There wasn't much left, a couple Shipwrecks and Stalkers. The DTC Target had all the Zartans & Fireflys gone, and left about 3 each of the others.

As for where I found remnants, they were Targets at the Colorado Mills and Kipling north of I-70. They had a shipwreck and officer left. At the I-70 and Quebec, I picked up wave 3. They only had Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes left. I also found remnants at the Walmart off of Colfax and Wadsworth with Cobra Commanders, Storm Shadows, and a Shipwreck left.

Just got back. I bought the Crimson Guard and one red Ninja, fixed Stalker, and fixed Beachhead. There are still tons of Troopers, Ninja, Flints, CC, Serpentor, fixed Beachheads, fixed Firefly, Buzzer, Lady Jaye, and Zartan. There may be other but I can't remember.

Oh, and they are not located in the Joe isle. They are kind of left on the wayside, a couple isles over in the clearance isle, inside a shopping cart. They are strewn about in the cart. Some in the box and some not. Once you walk into the Joe/Transformers/Star Wars isle, turn left; head past the bikes and turn down the first regular isle past the bikes. Three-quarters of the way down is the shopping cart with Joe goodness.

I found no Wave 4 and no Wave 5, except for the Crimson Guard.

Has anyone found Wave 4 in town?

Oh, there is a metrix ton of Cobra Legion 5-packs at the Target on Colorado and Alameda.

Hey guys. Just got back from a drive through Northern Colorado (Fort Collins and Greely area). I hit 2 Walmarts, 2 Targets and a Toysrus. Every store I went to had plenty of every figure in wave 2 and 3. None of wave 4 or 5...except for a wave 4 cobra commander...which I picked up. Anyways, I was really surprised at how many Joes are on the shelves now. I still dont have wave 4 or 5.....but I was encouraged. Good stuff!

I took to expanding my search radius yesterday and was met with mixed results. Last night I scored big with five troopers, five red ninjas and a "black" SE from a WM 20 miles West of me. Today I hit a WM and Target about 65 miles East of me and neither store even had pegs for the 25th figs. The Target did have about a dozen of the Legions pack. My local WM put out their first wave 3 last weekend and I nabbed 'em a red ninja and color change Zartan with sticker.

Well the Targets and the TRU in my area are completely bone dry of anything Joe. Except the piles of 5-packs everywhere.

But my supercenter Wal-Mart has gotten more active in their re-stocking. Still only two pegs but a great improvement.

I just got back from Indianapolis and stopped by at the Walmart on Quebec and I-70. They look like they got a bunch of wave 4 and 5 figures. The whole toy section looks like a warzone. I picked up one figure each of wave 5 and a couple extra air troopers. However, someone had gone there and cleared out all the Destros, both wave 4 and 5. I just wanted a measely Iron Grenadiers Destro, but noooooooooooooo. Someone just bought all the Destros but nothing else.

Strange.

Anyway, I didn't touch any of the Wave 4 figures since I got one of the 5-packs early on, and that's sufficient for me. So you should find a bunch of Flints, Buzzer, Cobra Troopers, Red Ninja, other Wave 3 figures with fixed crotches, and the remainder of Wave 4 and 5 figures sans Destro.

I picked up the Tomax/ Xamot comic pack yesterday at the Southlands Walmart. That was around 3pm and it was the only one they had. I'm lucky I found that. As usual, I was just out doing some grocery shopping.

And yeah, I said eff the hunt a long time ago. My days of hitting two, three, four or more stores are long over with. I have yet to find wave 4 or 5 or any of the other comic packs besides wave one. I simply refuse to waste my time hunting anymore. If stores don't want to stock enough of these things to make it as easy as picking up groceries, then I guess they don't want my money.

I hear ya' Spakler. I've been a "buy toys if I'm already there" guy for the past couple years. I decided it would be fun to hunt today since my whole family was gone for the day...big mistake.

A couple years ago I really got into buying everything online which saved a lot of time and effort. The thing is, I've seen all the Joes in stores without much trouble (except for the Zartan wave originally). So, I figured what the heck, might as well stick with shopping at retail. I then made the mistake of doing the same with my Star Wars collecting...so far this is proving to be a bad decision. I'll give it a couple more weeks and see how things go, otherwise I'll be back to online figure buying.

Here in Springs, the best time to check Target is Tues & Thursdays, if nothing on those days, Mon & Wednesdays. WM's Thurs or Fridays. TRU, Weds or Firdays. Thats for Joes, as thats when I have bought all of waves 1-5 singles(wave 4 came from a trade, but I did see them) and all 3 comic pack waves. Star Wars is still playing catch up. Finally had to get the Malak wave from HTS. Saw remains of wave 1 08 at 2 WM's. Never saw anything new on weekends at any store.

I bought the Air Troopers, the Fred/ Scarface pack and the Ace/ Wild Weasal pack at the Southlands WM. Looks like only one case of the comic packs every two weeks or so.

Gartrell Target: 1 Air Trooper along w/ more wave 4.

Aurora TRU a few blue shirts, one officer, more Serpentor, Buzzer and Stalker.

Same old crap at Chambers WM and the Quincy/ Buckley Target.

Found Wave 5 at Kmart. I picked up Iron Grenadier Destro and the two Crimson Guards. Everything else in Wave 5 is still there. Also, they had two Comic packs of Wave 2 Dreadnoks and one comic pack of Destro and Breaker.

Ok, I confirmed it. But,daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, did I have to drive so far to prove it?

Let me just tell you all where Wave 6 most definitely is not. Well, that is as of today. That could all change whenver they get new shipments.

So, I limited my searches to Wal-mart since that's where Joesightings.com has been saying that Wave 6 has been appearing.

1. Wadsworth and Colfax - nothing
2. Wadsworth and 6th avenue - nothing
3. I-70 and Youngsfield - nothing, but there were some remnants of 4 and only Black Snake Eyes of Wave 5.
4. I-70 and Quebec - nothing, but there were two Wave 3 Comic packs of only Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
5. I-70 and Tower - Bingo!!! But, I got the last one. I don't know if they had more before I got there. But, they definitely only had case of Wave 6.

The Crimson Guard in the pack looked messed up. I'm starting a thread on the 25th Anniversary boards to ask if it's a variant or just a plain old bad pain job. Only half of his face mask and visor were painted black. That is a vertical line seems to divide the red and black.

I hope my travels save you guys gas. That's fine. My car get 45 to the gallon. And, I only clocked about 30 miles.

Oh, was anyone interested in the Wave 2 comic packs? PM me and I'll let you know where you can get them.

One last thing. Wal-mart honored that Target coupon I posted in another thread. The one where you get $5 off of 25. That might help since all the Wal-marts I visited raised their prices for the figures to $5.44.

That friend is me. I decided about a week ago that I was going to join the 25th Anniversary GI Joe game after I saw the multi-pack repack wave 4 at a local Wal*Mart and had to have them! I have been able to assemble a collection of all the Joe's I want from all the previous waves over the last week. The exception is wave 5 where as you can see above, I am looking for Snow Job and Flash. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

On another note, I too have seen wave 6 at two Wal*Marts - 136th and I-25 yesterday at 1400 and Arapahoe and Lima this morning at 0630. Picked up the Torpedo and Rock and Roll yesterday as planned but then added the Battle Armor Cobra Commander this morning 'cause he was too cool a figure to pass on.

Anyone know if Hasbro plans to single card the BLACK suited Baroness from the Cobra 5-pack #1? I see a blue suited one is coming in a future wave but have not heard of a black one.

Saw Wave 5 (minus Flash) and Wave 6 at Target (120th and Washington) this morning. At least three each of Snow Job, Iron Grenadier Destro and Crimson Guard left at 0845. Also two Rock N Roll's and one each of Battle Armor Cobra Commander and Torpedo left.

Happy I could help Swornenemy! I was quite taken aback by the number of Joe figures I saw on the pegs at my Target yesterday. Even when I was not collecting them when the line began, I would always thumb through them to see what they looked like. But it was always half a dozen or so at a time on the pegs until yesterday.

You must have missed them, after I read your post I went to see if they had Black SE and they didn't, but I did get 1 each of the TRU packs and 1 of each were left, maybe 1 case they got in, plus plenty of wave 3 comic packs.

TRU got a restock of the exclusives, 2 of each and if your into Star Wars, WM on Palmer Park has plenty of complete waves 1 & 2(Force Unleashed Fig's).

So, I drive down to the Park Meadows Toys R Us and look around the Joe isle for the new TRU exclusives. I find nothing. I notice an older employee passing by and ask, "Do you have the . . ." And before I can say anything else, he replies, "The GI Joe Cobra Night Watch? No, but follow me and let's look it up in the computer."

Anyway, he looks it up and sees that he doesn't have it in stock but sees their price as $24.99. He says he's getting a shipment in next week, and it could be any day during the week. He then offers to go in the back and check a shipment that just came in today. He checks and comes back a few minutes later with nothing.

He THEN offers to look in the system and see if any other store has it. He finds 8 packs listed at the Aurora store. He dials the number since my cellphone was dead and I ask. The Aurora TRU says they don't have it and the computer is wrong.

This all took about 20-30 minutes with a break where he got called to search for a missing child. The kid got found but not my Joes. . .

Anyway, I go walking around to see if anything interesting is on the shelves for any other lines. I really don't follow any other lines, but I like seeing all the eye candy of other toys.

So, I'm walking down the military action figure aisle again. And, in between all the other military lines, what do I find? That's right. Two Snake Eyes, Red Ninja packs and one Cobra Night Watch. I used the TRU coupon for $5 off $25 and got them for $40.

I decided to try my luck and go to Aurora. I figured if the computer lies at Park Meadows than staff may have beein incorrect at the Aurora store. But, no luck. Nothing was at the Aurora store.

So, rev up your engines, boys. Park Meadows has one Snake Eyes vs. Red Ninjas pack. It's stuck on the same side as the Joe toys but half-way down the aisle about head high. That all that was left. I don't know if someone hit the store before me if they're just coming in cases with two Snake Eyes and one Night Watch.

I was trying to be nice, but I think I met a bonafide scalper. I wasn't trying to call one of you out if that's what you were doing. However, there was no mistaking it. The guy is weaving in and out of the aisles tonight. I just got there after doing a market run. Luckily they were holding some another set of the Nightwatch for me.

Anyway, I just went to the Joe aisles to see if there were any sign of the 3-packs. So, here's this guy. I ask him where he found the Joes. He tells me he found the last ones. This was ontop of a few Y-wing starfighters. I must admit. Those do look sweet. But, I have got to stick with only one line or I'm going to get in trouble.

So, the entire time he's there, I see him on the cellphone, walking the aisles. I pass by him a couple times, and he's spelling products over the phone to someone. I'm guessing his partner on the other line is looking on ebay to see how much this stuff is selling for. His cart was full of Star Wars, Justice League, and GI Joes.

Seemed friendly enough but there is no doubt he was a scalper.

Score!!! Thanks for the heads up. I was at a Target yesterday and found nothing on their scanners. I just gave up and figured I'd have to wait another week.

Oh, I hit Target Greatland on Havana. They had 12 but the toy guy wouldn't get them for me. He said the street date is 4/18. But, I ended up getting them anyway at another Target.

And, don't go to someone in Toys. Also, find a woman and go with your kid. I had my older boy with me. She was all friendly with my son and must have thought they were for him. He gets to play with them anyway after I open them.

Oh, one last thing guys, Toys R Us has a new coupon out for $5 off of $25. I found a stack of these at Customer Service. I used two to buy the TRU exclusives on Friday. Afterwards, the Customer Service rep gave me another one. They're good from 3/30 to 4/5. The other side of the book had 15 percent off one item from 4/6 to 4/12. So before you make your purchases, run by CS and look for the coupon. If it isn't there, look by the registers or just ask Customer Service. It's a small, colorful two-page booklet called Passport to Savings or something.

I finally scored the Joe vehicles today. I hit up a lady at the Southlands Target and was shot down with a nasty "street date" reminder.

So, I went an alternate route and had my wife use the DCPI (087-06-0918) at two different Targets and play the whole "I'm shopping for my son's birthday" routine. It paid off, I got a Striker at the Parker Wal-Mart then the Spector and Hiss at the Lone Tree Target. BTW, the employee put a Striker on the shelf at the Lone Tree Target (since I already had mine).

Target Greatlands on Havana has the vehicles on the shelf. they're actually on one of the register endcaps. Thay had 2 of each vehicle about a half hour ago and I only grabbed one of each. The target toy coupon worked, but I had to speak with a manager since the idiot girl at the checkout refused to even try to scan it claiming they couldn't accept it cause it was a printout. of course it's a copy, since it's an internet coupon that tells you to print it out.
