OK, so I seen they had the complete collection on 16 discs of the GI JOE animated series. It was for sale on ioffer dot com for about 25 bucks. Seems like a bargain. So I went ahead and started working on DVD cover art for the dvds I would recieve. I used some logos, pictures, etc I found on the internet. I am pretty good with photoshop so I created a pretty nice looking dvd cover. I then went to staples to have them print out my photoshop document, and they said they would not print it because I was stealing logos and pictures. I told them it was a caliboration created by myself on photoshop and I only wanted one copy for personal use. They seemed very ignorant and kinda hesitated and said they couldn't do it. IS there anyway around this? Will any place print them for me? I don't want to use my home printer because I want professional quality! Can anyone help?

Not unless you know someone who works in a print shop and can do you a favor. Staples, Kinkos, they'll all say the same thing. And, while you're not stealing it, you can't prove that you won't be making money off of the trademarked images, so to protect themselves from lawsuits, they can't help you out, no matter how badly you scream that it's just for your personal, non-monetary use.

Believe me, it's hard enough trying to convince someone you own the copyrights to your own artwork of characters, logos and backgrounds they've never even seen before. I wouldn't even try it with something recognizable.

Take it somewhere else....there are lots of print shops. Somebody is bound to do it. Good luck! Btw, post some pics!

Also, from my experience....a properly calibrated inkjet photoprinter on good paper prints WAY better than a laser printer they would have at Kinkos, Staples....The colors are more vibrant...the laser seems to have a more matt, dull finish

You know, the funny part is you ACTUALLY ARE making illegal prints for a bootleg movie lol.
There is no way around this. IT is kinkos and staples policy. But I work at kinkos. They cant print stuff out for you. But if you use the computer and print it out yourself, they have no problem with that.

That being said, copy max (part of office max) will print stuff out for you regardless of copyright. Before I worked at kinkos, I used to get my stuff printed out there because kinkos always gave me shit. What state are you in?
