I really don't understand this one:
Which of these themes would you most like to see most in 2008?
Street Fighter 2 - 43%
Steel Brigade - 39%
Star Brigade - 2%
Ninja Force - 3%
Eco-Warriors - 2%
Sky Patrol - 11%
It really does not fit, even tho I really like Street Fighter I would rather see any of the others made into Joes over SF.

I voted for Ninja Force...I think these polls are a joke honestly.
First poll Python Patrol only got 1%, I HIGHLY doubt that...
Now you are telling me SF, a name that has been dead for years is beating out Ninja Force?? Im sure fans would love to see an updated SS, SE, Slice, Dice, Night Creeper Leader, etc....
SE and SS are what got me into GI Joe...I think these polls are screwed to all hell...

Guys, the 1st and 2nd place winners will probably be made into sublines. This has happened before with hasbro although a bit different. Last year the star wars poll winners were Quinlin vos and Darth Revan.
Lo and behold, this year Quinlin vos shows up in a comic pack, and Darth Revan ends up being in wave 5 later this year in ADDITION to his nemesis/apprentice Darth Malak.
Bear in mind it was originally thought that the first place winner would be the only one made.
So even if Sf wins, I think the next best joe/cobra team will be made. In fact, I have no doubts about that.

I honestly think it was the kids who got into joes just recently, like the younger fans who latched onto Sigma6. Most of us(myself included), the older crowd, wanted a joe or cobra subset. The majority of joe fans didn't like the sf line, and sure some like it, but thats not the majority. So my only theory is that kids thought "HEY THAT WOULD BE COOL! JOES AS STREET FIGHTERS!", not knowing that this has actually happened before with questionable results. Not to mention kids outnumber us.
I personally wanted to see steel brigade. Theres just something mysterious and awesome, and the helmets ruled. They just seemed like the crimson guard of the gijoe team.

I voted for Street Fighter. The cliff idea is not on the table. The reason I voted for Street Fighter is because I was so disappointed with the original G.I. Joe offerings and I would like to see more game accurate figures in the G.I. Joe scale. Besides if they do make a Street Fighter theme it will probably be one or two Battle Packs.
Yes that space could be better used for real Joes and Cobras but if Hasbro lays off the multiple Cobra Commanders and Snake-Eyes figures we should see a lot of the themes listed later on in the line. That is my hope anyway.

Now that I think about this more, it might sell very well with the video game crowd. I guess it would be cool to see a few of these get made.

I think it would too. Hopefully it would also draw people who watched the cartoon as kids and old G.I. Joe fans that haven't collected in years that collect video game merchandise.

This subset is just BEGGING for the comic pack and battle pack treatment. Not to mention, game stores could get comic packs as exclusives in 2p colors. We all know how well SOTA is doing with SF, and these would cost a lot less.
Though King of Fighters or Capcom vs SNK would be an AWESOME 3-3/4" toyline in itself. Marvel vs Capcom would be viable as well, as hasbro DOES hold the marvel license too.......
*not to mention we all know how many of us wanted to see joe scale marvel characters but were dissapointed with superhero showdown. Who knows, maybe now we will seen joe scale marvel done right!*

man that would be awesome !! Udon comics packs would rock
and despite the american SF series not actually being the best incarnation it would be probally a good thing for the kiddies if DVD packs were released too.
Again While it wasnt the best series it suits young kids pretty well
but ya a comic pack would be sweet

Just pack it with the Street Fighter Alpha OVA and its good to go.Not to mention its more recent and the figures would fit right in(with that and the Udon comics) more seamlessly.

I also voted for the Street Fighter line.
First of all, whether you haters choose to admit it or not, the original Street Fighter 2 line was a part of the regular Joe line, so it has just a right to be on any of those polls as any of the other series of joes that are listed on there.
Secondly, if they indeed do this, and they sell well, it could open the door for other tie-ins.
You all know you want a Bison figure with Funky Ass Glowing Hands...
Besides that, they were fun for what they were.

Only if its done right this time around. Which is very probable considering how well the anniversary figures look. There is a lot of potential and it could exist as a line on its own, even sold in the game aisle of TRU and the other stores, plus gamestop.
Its got a line up and market big enough that it doesn't need to borrow space from the gijoe line at all. The only thing in common would be the body types and thats about it.

Yes, it would.
Which is why I said a line such as this would open the doors for other venues in which Hasbro could use these new style bodies for.
It's not about borrowing from the G.I. Joe line, it was originally part of the G.I. Joe line, and it would be a nice tip of the hat to see a six pack or a battle pack of updated figures.
It's funny how everyone keeps complaining about the Street Fighter figures, but IT WAS A PART OF THE JOE SERIES.
Lol.
That is all.

Yes but it was a part that not everyone was a big fan of. Sure the concept was unique and street fighter fans like me WANTED it to be good. Thing is, a lot of joe collectors strayed away from the joe line starting in the 90's. Some say after 86. Some say late 80's. Ninja force, street fighter, battle corps, as well as some of the figures were made, they weren't the most memorable. Now I will say that a lot of great vehicles and figures from that time are overlooked, however the early 90's era was not the best for the joe figures.
So no one is complaining simply because they were street fighters in the joe line, they were complaining because the street fighter joes could have been so much better. Others are worried that the space allocated for another subteam could be taken up for street fighters. I'm of the opinion that if Street Fighters are greenlighted, they will not take up any spaces for other teams and that it will be sold in other venues.
So I'd love to see gijoe street fighters done right this time around.

I'm still confused on HOW Street Fighter figures got considered to be part of the Joe line. The only thing I can see is that they have the Joe logo on the package. But when most of them are recolored for the Street Fighter movie and the Joe logo isn't on the package, then they're not part of the Joe line.
I'm willing to bet that Hasbro thought they could sell the Street Fighter figures easier with a Joe logo on the package, then when the movie came out they figured they didn't need the logo anymore.
Personally, I wouldn't be very interested in Street Fighter as part of the new line. I'm not as big a fan of the game as I used to be and I doubt that Hasbro would give them their own line (complete with designers and a budget)

Don't be confused. They were a part of the line. Face it.
This was also over 10 years ago too, so just chill!
The movie figures were a separate release, as were the Mortal Kombat game and movie figures.

Son't worry man, as evidenced by what hasbro said today in round 2 of the q/a's, the classic RAH era stuff has first dibs over anything new. Surely anything iconic and popular with us, will see fruition before something like street fighter ever comes out again in the line. They do know that street fighter wasn't the most popular era, they know the 90's era wasn't the best, and they are definitely focused on the anniversary this year leading to next.
Even if the poll showed street fighter winning, whatever is more classic to us will hit retail first most likely. They are planning more army builders, stuff that caters to us, we will surely be taken care of before the street fighter fans are.
For example I don't see Street Fighter really even hitting aisles for joes until the anniversary game/celebration comes out, and that isn't for a while.
