The Rules
1. Your custom must be made in the 25th/Modern/ROC Era 3 ¾ style. at least 80% JOE PARTS You may use whatever parts that you want (i.e., G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Build’N’Brawl, Tri-Gate Creations, Broken Arrow,Marvel Universe etc.). However, the custom must have the Modern Era construction/articulation style (i.e. torso joint, ball head, shoulder, elbow, wrist articulation, etc.)
2. the contest will be three diff. catagorys

b: Cobra Customs from the Hasbro Sketchbook
c: Customs that were never made in plastic form from any GI JOE Comics or, super obscure characters that i have posted in this thread those only (some have had a figure made but just one)

They can be no larger than 600 x 600 pixels. Take your photos against a blank background (poster board or blank copy paper). YOU CAN USE ANY COLOR YOU WANT FOR THE BACKGROUND
You are being judged by your custom making ability and the focus should be on your figure, not your Photoshop skills.

Big Tep started a revolt against the rule of General Lom, the country's communist dictator. He tended to frighten farmers and villagers into supporting him. He eventually became a real threat to Lom thanks to Destro, who sold him weapons and vehicles, as well as a small group of advisors from his army of Iron Grenadiers. General Lom was given assistance by the Soviets' October Guard to stop Big Tep's uprising.
Members of the Joe team -- Chuckles, Scarlett, Iceberg and Snake-Eyes -- got involved in the struggle when Snake-Eyes stopped some of Big Tep's bandits from beating up an old farmer. The bandits who survived their first encounter with the Joes exaggerated their numbers and brought a small army of bandits and Iron Grenadiers to the old man's farm to stop them. They were met there by the October Guard. The Iron Grenadiers chased off the Soviets, leaving Big Tep and his men to find the Joes, who were hidden in the farmer's house. When Big Tep threatened to kill the old farmer, the Joes came out of hiding and easily dealt with the bandits. Big Tep was killed, and his revolution presumably died with him.

The head of a monastery in the legendary Valley of the Eternal Mists; hidden in the Himalayas near the kingdom of Chomo-Lungma, a protectorate of the People's Republic of China. The abbot helped the Joes Chuckles, Iceberg, Scarlett and Snake-Eyes, who were sent with C.I.A. Agent Anderson to find the missing Agent Cullen Esterhazy. Chinese officer Colonel Peng captured the abbot and the monastery in an effort to capture Esterhazy, who had become a freedom fighter resisting Chinese rule. A pacifist, the abbot was upset to see his monastery become a battle ground between the Joes allied with Esterhazy's bandits and Peng's army. After Peng was defeated and Esterhazy killed, Anderson stayed behind with the abbot to help the natives

Alessandro Verdi -- Alex to his friends -- is the son of a former United States ambassador to Italy. He was born during one of his family's extended periods of time spent overseas. Growing up traveling through Europe, Alex developed a love of language, and being fluent in three by age nine. When his family returned to America permanently, he began studying languages formally and made his way to Harvard where he graduated from with full honors. He eventually joined the Army as an interpreter, hoping he could work for peace within the military, despite being an avowed pacifist. He is also extremely well-read, and over the years has authored over fifteen bestselling books.

Verdi later took a position as a translator at the Pentagon, where he began working with General Lawrence Flagg (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/flagg.html) during the initial formation of the G.I. Joe team (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/joeteam.html). By then he had picked up the nickname, "Sparks". Sparks' skills reached beyond simple translation into the realm of information technology and communications, and his skills proved invaluable in assisting Flagg in finding suitable candidates for the new team. Steeler, in particular, owed his inclusion on the team to Sparks' recommendation. Sparks also played a part in uncovering evidence that a corrupt General had paid mercenaries to attempt to kill Clayton "Hawk (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/hawk.html)" Abernathy who had recently been court-martialed. Flagg and Sparks used that evidence to blackmail the General into dropping the charges against Hawk, freeing him to become field commander of the Joe team. Sparks is also one of the few people who know of the existence of the team's top secret fourteenth member, the late Shooter.

Sparks was eventually given a permanent reserve position as the Joes' liaison to the Pentagon. He never served in the field, but worked behind the scenes during all incarnations of the team. He occasionally spent time at the team's original headquarters (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/joehq.html), where he met the Joe jungle trooper, Recondo (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/recondo.html). Always somewhat of a loner, Recondo struck up a friendship with Sparks when he recognized his name, having read many of his books. The two friends would often spend time discussing and debating great literary works.

Sparks continued his work for the Joes even during the years they were decommissioned. When the latest incarnation of the team was established, Sparks chose to relocate all operations to the team's new headquarters, The Rock, under the command of General Joe Colton (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/joecolton.html). Now that the team operates with a smaller roster, Sparks' job includes coordinating with the various reserve members of the team. He is also responsible for maintaining the team's Data Desk database.

During one mission, the team encountered mercenary Major Bludd (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/mbludd.html), who boasted about recently having killed a Joe. After confirming the whereabouts of a number of missing members of the team, only one missing Joe remained: Recondo. Sparks decided to head out into the field to find his friend, and made his way to a Tucaro village in Sierra Gordo, where he was told Bludd fought with and killed Recondo. The saddened Joe returned to headquarters, but he soon received an e-mail message from Recondo. The postscript of the message included a personal reference to one of their private literary debates, proving Recondo was still alive. He explained that he asked the Tucaros to lie to anyone who came looking for him and asked Sparks to record him as officially dead in the Joe team's records, allowing him to secretly act against Cobra (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/cobra.html). Sparks has presumably kept the information to himself, and is the only person besides the Tucaros who knows that Recondo is still alive.

Sparks was at The Rock when the base was invaded by the Phoenix Guard (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/phoenixguard.html), a team of U.S. commandos that turned out to be Cobra agents in disguise. Sparks did his best to purge the Data Desk to prevent it from being accessed by the invaders before he sustained number of injuries, including severe damage to his left leg. The Joes eventually defeated the Phoenix Guard, but several Joes were injured and many members of the Joes' support staff were killed. Sparks is currently recovering from these wounds, but still serving the team in his usual capacity during his rehabilitation. Following the incident, Colton ordered the Joes to go on leave to recover from their ordeal. Since Sparks was too far from home for a short leave, he was invited to stay at the home of Joe Colton and his wife, Jane.

He was briefly a member of the G.I. Joe team and flew an Air Commando combat glider. Most of Cloudburst's missions remain classified. Cloudburst, like most former Joes, is currently a reserve member of the team. (GI 118) Wednesday, 20 February 2008

While growing up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Firewall had a knack for computers, and once hacked into the high school records of an enemy, altering her grades so that she was not in the running for class valedictorian. She was never caught, and liked the rush of being able to ruin an uncaring braggart. She continued hacking into computer systems, eventually chaging credit card numbers and bank accounts of government officials. She stayed undetected for some time, until she hacked her way into U.S. Army computers and discovered the Army's experimental nano-mite program. She was arrested by the Feds, but they realized they could make use of her skills and she began working for the government. Firewall was put on temporary assignment with the G.I. Joe team to help put a stop to Cobra's nano-mites. She and fellow hacker, Daemon, both stayed with the team longer, working with the Joes' resident computer expert, Mainframe. The Joes' drill sergeant, Beach Head began running the programmers through a training program should they ever see combat. Firewall stuck to mostly computer work, while Daemon worked to become a soldier. He and Firewall used their skills to assist in several missions, including the fight to stop terrorist Tyler Wingfield. Daemon and Firewall displayed their immaturity when working together, with a relationship like two squabbling siblings.

On their first field assignment, Firewall and Daemon helped drive the vehicle carrying a group of children who were revealed to be the clones of Serpentor. The Joes' convoy of vehicles was unexpectedly attacked by the forces of the revived Serpentor, known at The Coil. The main vehicle was torn to pieces and Serpentor arrived to liberate his brothers inside. When Daemon tried to stop him, the former Cobra Emperor grabbed him by the throat and snapped his neck, killing him, and as Firewall and Roadblock looked on in shock. The remaining Joes were taken prisoner and held on Cobra Island until an invasion force arrived to battle The Coil. The battle was won, and the Joes headed home, later having a ceremony for their lost teammates, who included Mainframe. Firewall later assisted Barrel Roll remotely when he hacked into Cobra Island's computer system. Some time later, during a battle against Cobra, Hawk was shot in the back by Cobra Commander and paralyzed. In Hawk's absence, the Jugglers began to take control of the team to reign in it, if not disband it altogether. Eventually, the team's roster was cut down to only a dozen Joes including Firewall. That small team defended the new Pit against Cobra's attack, but Firewall and most of those Joes were quickly reassigned to other units. After the remaining Joes stopped a plot by Cobra to unleash the weapon known as the Tempest, and defeated a new threat, the Red Shadows, the military again disbanded the team. One year later, the Joe team was reformed with a smaller roster of active members. Firewall, like most former Joes, is a reserve member of the new team. Much of the Joes' current headquarters, The Rock, was designed by Firewall and the late Mainframe. Firewall was called back to work with the team to assist General Colton in his attempt to hack into encrypted files to find Duke's whereabouts. She was still at The Rock when the team was invaded by the Phoenix Guard, a team of U.S. commandos that turned out to be Cobra agents in disguise. The Joes eventually defeated them, but Firewall was severely injured and is now recovering.

While many members of the team are simply hand-picked from the elite of the armed forces, some soldiers undergo the weeding out process of the Joes own version of boot camp. As a probationary member of the team, Mangler was sent on a mission in the Middle Eastern nation of Trucial Abysmia as his final exam. The supposedly simple mission to destroy a buried U.S. weapons cache became much more when the team led by Outback and Dusty was ambushed and captured by the local army. The team refused to answer questions, though the brash nineteen-year-old Mangler blurted out that they were from the G.I. Joe team. The unit's overzealous political officer took charge and decided to torture the Joes into talking. He randomly chose the other recruit, Lightfoot, who was severely beaten for a time, but refused to talk. When they finally used alligator clips to shock him with electricity, it was too much for him to bear, and Lightfoot revealed the team's objective. Mangler chastised Lightfoot for giving in, but Dusty and Outback backed him after seeing what he'd been through. When Mangler continued to berate Lightfoot, Dusty silenced him with a swift kick in the stomach. The Joes were left behind with a junior officer with orders to execute them while the rest of the enemy unit went to find the weapons cache. The officer disagreed with the torture of Lightfoot and let the Joes go rather than execute them. Left in the desert with only a small amount of water, the Joes were ready to head for friendly territory, but it was Lightfoot who pushed them to complete the mission. He could barely walk and Mangler carried him on his back through the desert. Mangler was impressed with Lightfoot and apologized to him after they destroyed the cache and made their escape in a stolen armored vehicle. The vehicle, however, proved to be difficult to get up enough speed and the Abysmian army vehicles were gaining on them. Mangler saw that the only way for the Joes to escape was for someone to slow down their pursuers. He jumped from the armored vehicle and stood in the path of the oncoming trucks, firing his machine and pistol. The other drivers swerved to miss the young soldier and collided. Mangler was crushed and killed in the accident. He was made a member of the team posthumously and is remembered as a hero. Mangler was buried in Arlington National Cemetary.

Joe team's new recruits included eager young Adcox. He stood out among the young "greenshirts" and became one of the leaders of the young recruits. After the Joe's battle against Serpentor's forces on Cobra Island, Adcox became a full-fledged member of the Joe team as an amphibious warfare specialist under the code name "Mariner". On his first mission as Mariner, he took part in a fight off the coast of Cobra Island that served as a distraction to allow Barrel Roll to infiltrate Cobra's headquarters.

Adams impressed Dusty with her marksmanship when he was running the new Joes through target practice. She later took part in the battle against the forces of a revived Serpentor on Cobra Island. Not long after that mission, Adams was made a full-fledged member of the Joe team as an urban warfare specialist under the code name "Mayday". On her first mission as Mayday, she took part in a fight off the coast of Cobra Island that served as a distraction to allow Barrel Roll to infiltrate Cobra's headquarters.

http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/appel.gifPROFESSOR APPEL. A Cobra scientist and Crimson Guardsman, Appel's official Crimson Guard code name was Jones, but was rarely used. Appel's house in Staten Island was raided by a group from the G.I. Joe team because of his suspected involvement in Cobra. He escaped with the help of the Crimson Guard commanders, Tomax and Xamot. It was discovered that his daughter, Candy, had had some involvement with the G.I. Joe team. She was taken into custody, but knew nothing of her father's involvement in Cobra. Professor Appel was the mastermind behind the creation of Cobra Island. Information had been planted in Appel's house pointing to a possible Cobra operation in the Gulf of Mexico. The information tricked the Joes into destroying an underwater bunker that was killing off local marine life. The destruction of the bunker aggravated a fault line under the water. The bunker had been set up there specifically, and the aggravation of the fault line caused massive amounts of the ocean floor to be thrust up out of the water to form an island. The island became Cobra Island. Appel and other important Cobra leaders were nearly captured when the G.I. Joe team assaulted the island. Before they were defeated, Cobra had sent lawyers to major countries and had Cobra Island given all priviledges of a sovereign state. The success of the mission was vital to the spread of Cobra's power and influence and the island became the group's main headquarters. When Appel's daughter, Candy, was reported missing from the army's custody (she had been kidnapped by the Dreadnok known as Buzzer), Cobra Commander kept the truth from Appel. When the Joe known as Ripcord was captured on the island, he told Appel that Candy was missing. Appel sent him to Springfield in a Cobra Firebat jet. As the plane was about to launch, the former Cobra ninja Storm Shadow arrived and tried to kill Ripcord, who he believed to be Zartan. He injured Appel with his sword, but did not kill Ripcord when Snake-Eyes knocked him out of the way of the blast caused by the Firebat's launch. Appel did not survive the blast.

http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/bigglesjones.gifDR. SIDNEY BIGGLES-JONES. The scientist who developed the experimental weapon known as the Rail Gun prototype -- actually the first of two. Despite her young age, Biggles-Jones was one of the leading scientists in her field. She and the Rail Gun were captured by Cobra from her laboratory in New Jersey. Cobra Commander offered her a place in Cobra, along with Scarlett (who was pretending she gave up on the Joe team). She then particpated in a mission with Cobra to destroy the second Rail Gun prototype, which was being guarded by the G.I. Joe team. She continued to work for Cobra for some time, developing other versions of the Rail Gun. She was with Cobra during their involvement with the Transformer known as Megatron. Biggles-Jones even helped repair Megatron and provided him with a new body. Soon after, Cobra and Megatron joined forces against the Joes in the Cobra-subjugated town of Millville. During the fight, Megatron decided he can use Biggles-Jones scientific knowledge. She eventually surrendered herself to Megatron in order to save the Joes, Cobra and the entire town from his rampage. Megatron and the scientist headed for space in the spacecraft known as The Ark, but Biggles-Jones was saved due to the efforts of the Joes and the heroic Transformers, the Autobots. Biggles-Jones had little or no contact with the Joe team for years until the reinstated Joe team raided what turned out to be a Cobra medical facility. One of the bedridden patients under medical care alongside known Cobra operatives was Dr. Biggles-Jones. The military is investigating each patient's status and why they were placed in that facility.

Knox based the design of her android on Dr. Mindbender's previous version of the B.A.T., but made extensive modifications upon it. This B.A.T. had the ability to target specific individuals using their brain-wave patterns. Knox was extremely ambitious and hoped that Cobra would pay her price for the android -- which would surely make her wealthy. In her first test of the android -- shortly before the Joe team was shut down -- Knox sent it to kill Scarlett. She realized too late that sending her only prototype was a poor decision when Scarlett eventually destroyed it. Some time after the break up of Cobra in 1995, Knox began working for Destro's weapons manufacturing company, MARS. She served the company until Destro took control of Cobra after Cobra Commander was captured by the G.I. Joe team, when Destro brought her in to once again work for Cobra. She has recently been assigned the task of analyzing Dr. Mindbender's powerful secret weapon, the Tempest.

Lilian became an incredibly spoiled teenager and was never satisfied with what her parents gave her. When they cut back on her allowance, she simply stole from them. Her father was fed up and sent Lilian to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. She took to the military life surprisingly well and graduated with top honors. She moved on to the British Army where she was trained in counter-intelligence and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). While serving in the army, Lilian had a chance meeting with a charismatic civilian named Alexander McCullen. The young man's tales of the storied history of his family -- the Destro clan -- persuaded Osborne to leave the army and help in his quest to take over his family's arms-dealing business. She soon discovered that Alexander's claims of military experience and underworld connections were exaggerated to say the least, but she stuck with him, believing his plan had merit. Plus, her interest in McCullen was becoming more than just professional. McCullen was actually unknown to his father, Destro, and when he arrived at his home found his father bedridden by a family illness. Alexander seized his opportunity and took over the business, hoping to prove himself to his long lost father, even posing as Destro. When the fugitive Cobra Commander returned to America in 2001 with a renewed Cobra organization, he put a call out to his former high command. Alexander posed as Destro, arriving with the Baroness in tow. He quickly seized control of the organization and had the Commander locked in a padded cell and infected him with stolen nano-mite technology to drive him insane.
Lilian, dubbed Mistress Armada, served as his chief military strategist, and many were surprised to see that "Destro" now had a close relationship with Armada instead of the Baroness. Using nano-mites to cripple the nation's infrastructure, Alexander and Lilian began their plan to take over America, and soon had to fight the reinstated G.I. Joe team. Lilian came to realize Alexander had become obsessed with proving his worth to his father, and began to question his sanity. When the Joe team foiled their plans, Lilian and Alexander were "rescued" by the Baroness, only to be jailed by Destro in his castle in Trans-Carpathia. Destro vowed to make his son and Lilian pay for what they had done in his name. After his castle was attacked by Cobra Commander, Destro revealed that it was his son who took control of Cobra, and offered Lilian to the Commander as his prisoner. She served as the Commander's servant, doing menial tasks and waiting on him. Eventually, while Destro controlled Cobra in the Commander's brief absence, Lilian was freed. After Destro had her tested to rule out any brainwashing at the Commander's hands, Lilian began working for Destro alongside Alexander. Their first assignment was to track down the mercenary known as Wraith and hire him to work for Destro. Destro continues to keep a close eye on Lilian, and neither are completely convinced they can trust one another. Recently, Destro took control of Cobra and partnered Armada with Major Bludd as one of the commanders of Cobra's forces in Europe

One of the few women to become Dreadnoks, Heart-Wrencher was first seen as a member of Zartan's organized, expanded Dreadnok organization, some time after the break up of Cobra in 1995. Little is known about her past. Her nickname is an appropriate one, since she is often seen wielding a huge wrench as a weapon. After the entire Dreadnok organization had begun working for Cobra, Heart-Wrencher and other Dreadnoks attacked Roadblock while the Joe was taping his television cooking show in Los Angeles, on orders from Tomax and Xamot. She later joined Cobra in the fight against the forces of a revived Serpentor on Cobra Island, and continues to be included in many of the Dreadnoks' biggest operations.

He joined Special Forces and quickly distinguished as an outstanding Green Beret. In 1963, Lt. Colton's special forces team was overrun by North Vietnamese troops in the central highlands of Vietnam. Only Colton, his first Sergeant "Top" Wenzel and Specialist Angel Vasquez survived the attack. On the extraction chopper, Colton was given orders to report to the President immediately, but he refused to go, demanding to stay with the injured Vasquez, who died shortly afterward. Colton met with President John F. Kennedy personally, and was appointed to lead an elite team of soldiers reporting directly to the President. A year later, the team went into operation under the name "G.I. Joe". The name kept the team anonymous and elusive, and became the unofficial code name for Colton. The team was involved in missions all over the world, assisting other units and participating in covert operations throughout the 1960s.

In 1969, Joe grew tired of a soldier's life and took a well-deserved sabbatical. He began to travel the world and explored some of the most exotic and dangerous parts of the world, having a number of adventures. In 1970, he became a part of the civilian group known as the Adventure Team. Throughout the next decade, Joe and his team worked for private groups, serving as guides and rescuers to archaeologists and other scientists working in the field. The team even worked for various government agencies on occasion. The Adventure Team disbanded as the 70s came to a close.
In the 1980s, Joe returned to work for the U.S. government as a security specialist, helping to protect many top secret installations. Joe became chief of security for the secret Strategic Defense Initiative installation hidden inside New York city's Chrysler Building. A highly-advanced laser weapon was built and tested there by a group of government scientists led by Jane, the former nurse of the original G.I. Joe team. As "G.I. Joe", Colton was well-known, but he tended to keep his identity a secret, since so many of his team's missions remained classified. http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/originaljoe1a.gifIn 1988, the SDI facility came under attack by a large number of Cobra (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/cobra.html) Vipers (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/vipers/vipers.html). Hawk was so impressed by Colton's leadership in the situation, he made him an honorary member of the team. Joe was so amused by Hawk's offer that he revealed his and Jane's true identities. Years later, Cobra again attempted to take control of the SDI building. Joe teamed up with the G.I. Joe team once again and used portable battle copters to fight off the terrorists. Cobra managed to fire off one shot with the laser, which was only used to destroy a ship running drugs into their town of Broca Beach. Months after last working with the Joe team and a short time before the team was disbanded, Colton was called back into active duty for one last top secret mission, the details of which remain classified. A short time after the Joe team was shut down, Colton and Jane -- still working at the SDI facility -- helped a small team of Joes in their mission to transport a top secret electronic device and evade Cobra.
Years later, after the Joe team was reinstated, General Colton came out of retirement to help the Joes by filling in as their commanding officer in the absence of Hawk, who was shot by Cobra Commander (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/cc.html) and lay in a hospital bed, paralyzed. With Hawk out of commission, the cabal of Generals known as the Jugglers used a disastrous mission for the Joes to tighten their control and dismantle the team. Colton was quickly transferred off the team and General Philip Rey (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/generalrey.html) was placed in command of a smaller team. After the Joes stopped Cobra Commander's plans to unleash the weapon known as the Tempest, a new threat began to emerge in the form of the Red Shadows (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/redshadows.html). The mysterious group began killing Joes and Cobra agents, and Joe Colton became one of their targets. He was confronted by a member of the Red Shadows, and was surprised to see the man was Wilder Vaughn, the fellow soldier he had last seen decades earlier. Vaughn shot Colton and left him for dead, but though his injuries were critical, Colton survived and eventually recovered.

One year after the defeat of the Red Shadows, General Colton was asked by the President to head up the newly reestablished G.I. Joe team, headquartered at the secret facility known as The Rock. At first reluctant to take command, but accepted the position in the wake of the deliberate crash of a satellite into downtown Chicago. Colton ordered the Joes to investigate and allowed them to do so independently. During the mission, Colton had to deal with more personal issues with the team than he expected: some members' mistrust of Storm Shadow (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/stormy.html), Flint (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/flint.html)'s reckless behavior following Lady Jaye (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/ladyjaye.html)'s death and Duke (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/duke.html) breaking all contact with the team while on a personal mission for Hawk. The Joes stopped the satellite crashes and found the culprit to be terrorist Vance Wingfield, who had assistance from Destro (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/destro.html)'s armaments company. Following that incident, Colton authorized an unofficial mission to rescue Scarlett (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/scarlett.html) from Destro's submarine, which resulted in the supposed death of Snake-Eyes (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/snakes.html), who was somehow resurrected by the Red Ninjas.

Following Snake-Eyes' return, General Colton began to lose the trust of Stalker (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/stalker.html), Snake-Eyes and Scarlett when they discovered that the Baroness (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/baroness.html) was being held in The Rock without the knowledge of the rest of the team. They confronted Colton, but were interrupted by an attack on the base by the Phoenix Guard (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/phoenixguard.html). The group was eventually defeated, but not before killing many members of the base's support staff. Following the attack, Colton vowed to repair the fracturing of the team, which he believed to be partially his own fault.

Zanya was the product of a brief affair between Zartan (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/zartan.html) and a woman from Chicago. The affair ended before Zartan even knew Zanya's mother was pregnant, and she grew up never knowing her father. Zanya lived with her mother in an apartment building in a rough neighborhood in Chicago. By age nine, she was acting out violently in school, due in no small part to living with an anger, bitter mother and her mother's abusive boyfriend. It was also at this age that she first even heard the name "Zartan." One night she lit fire to her mother's bed, and her mother later found the girl still playing with the matches. Her mother was about to beat the defiant girl, but she grabbed her mother's wrist and and stopped her. A burning match fell to the ground and hours later, the building was ablaze. Zanya got out via the fire escape, but her mother and her mother's boyfriend died in the fire. Years later, at age fourteen, Zanya was traveling with an older boy named Keven Shulte who was making money by taking bets on staged fights between Zanya and any takers. She proved she could beat up men much older and bigger than her. Kevin dreamed of joining the Dreadnoks (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/dreadnok.html) -- who had become a powerful, national criminal organization -- and hoped he'd have amassed enough money to do so between his criminal activites and Zanya's fight money. Zanya kept her own goal to her self -- she wanted to confront her absent father. When they both made it to a Dreadnok gathering in the Everglades, Zanya's fighting impressed the Dreadnoks who were there, including some of the higher ranking ones like Monkeywrench, Zanzibar and Gnawgahyde. Kevin's stories of his criminal career impressed them much less.

Their first test to gain membership was taking part in an attack on a group of gang members in Miami who were selling weapons on the Dreadnoks' turf. During the fight that followed, Zanya did most of the work while Kevin took most of the credit. Afterwards, they came face to face with Zartan at a Dreadnok party. Zanya shocked everyone by picking a fight with Zartan. He eventually held her down and stopped her, but was impressed by the girl's spirit. She then told him, "You should be. Remember Chicago? I'm your daughter." Zartan walked away, refusing to believe her. Zarana (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/zarana.html) then told her she had better think twice if she expected to pull a con on them. But Zartan later confided to his sister that he remembered a woman in Chicago fourteen years, and that Zanya reminded him of her. After looking into her claims about her mother's death, Zartan concluded that she was really his daughter. He gave her the choice leaving and moving on with her life or staying with him and the Dreadnoks, as long as she followed his rules. She chose to stay and joined Zarana and Kevin in a mission into a guarded building supposedly filled with advance vehicle prototypes to steal. When Kevin told her to take the opportunity to kill Zarana, she agreed, but then beat Kevin to a pulp instead, and told him to leave and not come back. Zarana then told her she passed, and the lights came up, revealing the other Dreadnoks. They congratulated her on her membership as her father looked on proudly.

After a few years passed, Zartan seemed intent on passing leadership of the Dreadnoks onto his Zanya (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/zanya.html), much to the chagrin of Zarana, who had always been seen as Zartan's successor. When Cobra Commander reemerged after an absence of several years, he contacted his former lieutenants, hatching a new plan for world domination. He held a meeting at Zartan's Dreadnok compound in the Everglades, hoping to add the growing number of Dreadnoks to Cobra's ranks. But soon after Destro arrived, he forcibly took control of Cobra from Cobra Commander. Zartan wasn't thrilled by the idea of following Destro's leadership, but the weapons supplier claimed that he knew how to cure Zartan's condition and persuaded him to again work for Cobra. http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/zartan-zanya.gifThe first battle between Cobra and the reinstated G.I. Joe team occurred in the swamps outside of the Dreadnok compound. Destro revealed his plan to take over the world used nano-mites, microscopic machines, to infect not only people, but computer systems around the world to bring the planet's technology to a standstill. He revealed that Zartan, too, was infected with the nano-mites. Eventually, the Joes defeated Cobra after a battle in Washington, after which Zartan, Zanya and many of the Dreadnoks escaped. It was later revealed that "Destro" had in fact been Destro's son, Alexander.
After the end of the nano-mite threat, Cobra Commander returned to take control of Cobra. He threatened the lives of his old high command to ensure their loyalty, and made Zartan believe the once again brainwashed Storm Shadow would carry out his long-forgotten revenge against Zartan. The Dreadnoks continued to work for Cobra, and Zartan was surprised to learn that his previous nano-mite infection had cured his skin condition. Zanya then joined her father and Aunt Zarana at the Dreadnok chapter in Chicago, where Dr. Mindbender was working on an advanced Battle Android Trooper (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/bats.html). When the BAT went berserk and escaped, the Dreadnoks and the Joes had to work together to stop the rampaging android. Some time later, Cobra Commander was captured by the forces of a revived Serpentor and was being held on Cobra Island. Zarana joined the Dreadnoks, Cobra and G.I. Joe on an assault on Cobra Island. Some time later, when Zartan switched places with Cobra Commander he was arrested and held in a government facility for interrogation. Hidden behind the Commander's helmet, which was rigged to explode if tampered with, Zartan fooled the government agents and Joes stationed there. Zanya was there at her father's side, disguised as a psychiatrist named Dr. Edmonds. Eventually, the Dreadnoks rescued Zartan and he and Cobra Commander reclaimed their true identities. After the Commander revealed plans to unleash the weapon known as the Tempest, Zartan and the Dreadnoks left Cobra's employ yet again. Zanya and the others remained in the Everglades while the Joes defeated the Commander's plans and dealt with a new threat known as the Red Shadows (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/redshadows.html).
In the wake of their defeat at the hands of the Joes and an attack by the Red Shadows, Cobra was again scattered across the globe, and Cobra Commander's whereabouts were unknown. Zanya later encountered Joes Duke (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/duke.html) and General Philip Rey (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/generalrey.html) when the pair came to the Everglades searching for answers about Rey's past. After the Joes got the information they needed they left the swamps. Zartan, Zanya and the Dreadnoks have since had no contact with G.I. Joe or Cobra.

A small group of Joes were sent to the North polar ice cap to discover who had attacked a top secret American research station. When Stalker (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/stalker.html), Snake-Eyes (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/snakes.html), Scarlett (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/scarlett.html) and Breaker (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/breaker.html) arrived, they ran afoul of the Eskimo mercenary known only as Kwinn.http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/kwinn.gif They soon learned Kwinn was a freelance operative who had worked for the CIA, Mossad, KGB, MI-6 and other security agencies. Kwinn had been hired by the Russians to retrieve the American station's records and a Russian station's plans for transmitting low frequency "paranoia waves." Kwinn fought and defeated the Joes, but showed a sense of honor and hated the idea of giving the ability to create "fear waves" to the Russians. Unfortunately, he was bound by his contract, which he always fulfilled. He eventually delivered the plans to the Russians, but allowed the Joes to find them, thus stopping the Russians and fulfilling his contract. It was unknown at the time, but Kwinn kept a copy of the plans and later sold them to Cobra (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/cobra.html). The plans became the basis for Cobra's "Terror-Drome" project that would come to fruition years later.

Months later, Kwinn was working for Cobra during a G.I. Joe (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/joeteam.html) mission to Sierra Gordo. During that mission, the Baroness (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/baroness.html) tried to kill Kwinn, Dr. Venom and Snake-Eyes. The three men survived, but Kwinn and Snake-Eyes were betrayed by Venom so the Cobra scientist could save himself. When Kwinn set out to get his revenge on Venom, Snake-Eyes travelled with the Eskimo, not knowing just what he would do to the scientist. After a long search throughout America, they tracked down Venom, but were captured by Cobra.

During their assault on G.I. Joe headquarters (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/joehq.html), Cobra placed Kwinn and Snake-Eyes in the mind-controlling SNAKE armor and sent them to fight against the Joes. Snake-Eyes was able to override the armor and free himself and Kwinn. Kwinn ran across the battlefield and pulled Dr. Venom from his HISS tank. The Eskimo was about to kill the scientist when he realized that he had been fooling himself as he sought his revenge. His life as a mercenary had been just as dishonorable as Venom's. He let the scientist live, but the cowardly Venom shot Kwinn in the back, taunting him as he died. But Kwinn had made peace with himself. As his lifeless body fell to the ground, the grenade he had intended to kill Venom with fell from his hand. It exploded and killed Venom. A short time later, Kwinn was given an Eskimo's funeral by Wild Bill (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/wildbill.html) and Snake-Eyes, who placed his body into a small boat, carried away by the ocean currents. The G.I. Joe team has great respect for Kwinn, despite his mercenary past. Recent unconfirmed intelligence reports suggest Kwinn's full name was Jesse Kwinn and he was born in Kotzebue, Alaska.

Kwinn's name was most likely taken from the 1960s song "The Mighty Quinn", which includes the phrase "Quinn the Eskimo". His first name and birthplace was first revealed in the filecard from his 2004 action figure. According to the filecard for the action figure Ghost Bear (http://www.yojoe.com/action/04/ghostbear.shtml), he is Kwinn's son.

http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/anderson.gifAGENT ANDERSON. An undercover C.I.A. agent who acted as government liason on several military missions. In 1987, Anderson acted as liason on a G.I. Joe team mission into Southeast Asia. Anderson briefed the Joes on their mission in their transport plane prior to their parachute jump into the jungle. The team's mission was to recover a traitor, Theron Portland, who stole top secret U.S. computer chips. In reality, the mission was designed to fail, and the Soviet convoy the spy was traveling with was an armored column. The Joes were to make it look like an attempt to recover the spy was made, but the computer chips contained a virus that would damage Soviet computer systems. When the Joes sent the radio signal that the convoy was too large, Anderson sent a siren signal so that the convoy would find out the Joes were there. After the signal was sent, the Joes Wild Bill and Lift-Ticket "worked him over" and forced Anderson to tell the true point of the mission before the team was retrieved. The mission's true purpose failed as well, since the Joe sniper, Low-Light, took the chips from Portland instead of shooting him.
Later, Anderson was sent with another team of Joes into the Himalayan kingdom of Chomo-Lungma, a protectorate of the Republic of China. The team was sent to retrieve Cullen Esterhazy, a C.I.A. agent who disappeared in the area. The team found out that Esterhazy had become a freedom fighter in the Chomo-Lungma resistance. After a battle with the Chinese army in which Esterhazy was killed, the Joes left but Anderson stayed behind to work with the native people in their fight.

The boy named Billy was born to a loving mother and a father losing his grip on reality. His father's growing insanity would become a curse that would affect Billy's entire life. Some time before Billy was born, his father's beloved brother, Dan, died in a car accident. Billy's father was devastated, and barely acknowledged that his brother was drunk at the time, had returned home from Vietnam with a death wish, and a family of three was killed in the accident as well. His brother's death pushed the man over the edge, helped along by his failed business and dwindling finances. He hired a man to kill the surviving son of the family in the other car, and nearly bankrupted the family to do so. After Billy's birth, his mother learned what her husband had done, and was outraged and horrified. Soon, Billy's father left, taking Billy with him. Traveling the country, he began his plan to stop the government and big business from destroying "the little guy". It began as a pyramid scheme to sell products to gain power and money, but over time it became more. Billy's father began to attract followers who, like him, had faced failures in their lives, and were ready to listen to a man willing to circumvent government and to blame failures on everyone but himself. As he traveled the country, having meetings in seedy motels in small towns full of disenfranchised "little guys". He soon named his organization "Cobra (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/cobra.html)" and Billy's father was now known only as "Cobra Commander (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/cc.html)". All the while, he dragged Billy along with him. At first, the child didn't understand what his father was doing. He was even told that his mother died years before. But as Billy grew older and his father gained power in a nice little town called Springfield, the boy started to realize who and what his father was. Eventually, Billy couldn't stand what his father was doing and ran away. He never made it out of Springfield and fell in with a small resistance group of townspeople who didn't want anything to do with Cobra. Over time, Billy blocked out the painful memories of who his father really was.

Scarlett (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/scarlett.html), Zap and Snake-Eyes (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/snakes.html) were captured. The Joes found themselves drugged, and in a jail cell with young Billy. He never told them his name, but he helped the Joes escape. He stayed behind in the town hoping to continue fighting against Cobra's control. Years later, Cobra agents Major Bludd (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/mbludd.html) and the Baroness (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/baroness.html) sought out a young member of the resistance group to turn into an assassin. They hoped to kill Cobra Commander and usurp his power. Neither they nor Billy knew that he was the Commander's son. The two Cobras ruthlessly trained Billy, molding him into the assassin they needed. Billy was soon set to strike at a Cobra rally, as one of the Young Cobras -- a group that warped local children's minds to serve Cobra when they grew older. Billy was carrying a bouquet of flowers for the Commander, but among the flowers was a pistol. The boy stepped up to the Commander and pulls put the weapon. But Destro (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/destro.html) recognized who the boy was, and couldn't watch him kill his own father. He lunged at Billy and knocked the gun away, saving Cobra Commander. Face to face with the Commander, Billy heard his voice and recognized his father. Cold and heartless as ever, Cobra Commander ordered an inquest to learn who put Billy up to the assassination. Billy was strong willed, however, and refused to identify his accomplices. The Baroness and Major Bludd were pleased of course, but the ninja Storm Shadow (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/stormy.html) was disgusted that those responsible would let the boy be punished on his own. Storm Shadow also admired the boy's integrity. Billy was thrown in a cell beneath Springfield, and was surprised when Storm Shadow arrived, made quick work of the guards and helped the boy escape. Billy convinced Storm Shadow that the ninja couldn't stay either. He agreed and they both headed to New York, and Storm Shadow's personal training dojo in the city. Cobra Commander, meanwhile, quickly gave up on his son, and returned to Cobra's business.
Over the next few months, Storm Shadow trained Billy in ninjitsu. He not only taught Billy to fight, he also taught him the honorable ways of the ninja. He came to see Storm Shadow as a surrogate father. Even so, Billy decided he had to confront his father. He left his teacher a note, and started on his way, hitch-hiking back to Springfield. Eventually, Billy was picked up by a driver who had earlier picked up Joe member Ripcord (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/ripcord.html)'s girlfriend, Candy. Soon, they both realized the driver was drunk, and Billy saw a vision of death. At a railroad track, the driver lost control of the car. The car crashed before hitting the train, catching on fire. Escaping Springfield as they approached, was the Soft Master (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/ninjas.html). He was being chased by Cobra agents Firefly (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/firefly.html), Scrap-Iron and the Dreadnok (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/dreadnok.html) Buzzer. He turned back to help those trapped in the car, but the Cobras caught up to him. As he tried to help the passengers (now unconscious) out of the car, Scrap-Iron fired a missile at him. The old ninja master stopped the first rocket himself, but Scrap-Iron fired another. The car was hit and exploded, and those inside were presumed dead. The car's driver and Candy were both killed, but Billy survived -- just barely. He spent months in a coma, and lost a leg and an eye.

Billy eventually came out of his coma, and was surprised to find his father by his side. Cobra Commander had discovered Billy's survival and found his son in a hospital outside of Springfield. Vowing to be the father he had never been, he took Billy to the undercover Crimson Guardsman Fred VII (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/fred7.html). Fred was a mechanical genius, and the Commander asked him to build a prosthetic leg for his son. Fred did so, and Billy could walk once again. At first, Billy didn't remember his imprisonment in Springfield and his training under Storm Shadow, but he stumbled upon the martial arts school of the Blind Master -- a member of the same clan as Storm Shadow. This sparked Billy's memory and he recalled all that had happened. He confronted his father and then stormed away, not wanting anything more to do with him.

Later, Jinx took Billy to the Presidio, an Army base in San Francisco. He thought he was being forced to take lessons in speaking French, but he found his way to a secret basement of the Language Center building, where Hawk (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/hawk.html) and other Joes waited for him. Hawk brought Billy to meet with Ripcord and Storm Shadow. He told them what had happened to Candy and the Soft Master. Just then, Hawk received word that Scarlett and Snake-Eyes -- who had been on vacation in Grenada with Flint (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/flint.html) and Lady Jaye (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/ladyjaye.html) -- were killed after stepping on a land mine. Storm Shadow was skeptical. He didn't believe a ninja would be so careless as to stumble upon a land mine. He eventually learned that they had faked their own death so they could embark on a secret mission to rescue Stalker (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/stalker.html), Quick Kick (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/quickkick.html) and Snow Job (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/snowjob.html) from a Borovian gulag. The Blind Master had helped them deceive the others. Storm Shadow decided he had to help his friends, and journeyed to Borovia, with Billy and Jinx in tow. They all succeeded in rescuing the captured Joes, and returned home to San Francisco. For a time, Billy continued to train with Storm Shadow and helped he and Jinx run the Arashikage Martial Arts Academy in downtown San Francisco.

Months later, the three ninjas were called upon again by the Joe team. In the aftermath of the Cobra Island civil war, unscrupulous officials arrested much of the G.I. Joe team, and locked up Hawk and General Hollingsworth in a mental hospital in Virginia. The remaining members of the team went underground, and staged a rescue. Billy, Storm Shadow and Jinx joined them, and soon the Generals were freed and the team was cleared of any wrongdoing. Some time after that incident, Jinx was met at the Presidio by an armed woman, claiming to be Billy's mother. She brought her to the Martial Arts Academy and she and Billy acknowledged that it was, indeed his mother. She had tracked him down after years of searching. She relayed to the ninjas the story of how her husband came to leave with Billy. She asked Billy to come home with her, hoping to start over. Billy agreed, and for a time he lived with his mother. Soon he began attending college, and began enjoying a normal life. That wouldn't last for long.
On the way to class one morning, Billy was stopped by the Cobra agent Raptor. Raptor told Billy that his father had been killed a few years ago by Fred VII. Fred had in fact been posing as Cobra Commander for some time. They made their way to Cobra Island where they confronted Fred along with other Cobra operatives in the Island's land-locked freighter. It was then, that the true Cobra Commander returned. He hadn't died years ago, but had been in hiding, biding his time until he returned. He threw others into the freighter with the rest of the "traitors". Calling his past decision to go straight "irrational," he disowned Billy as his son. He planned to seal the freighter and kill all those inside. Billy shouted to his father, "You kill more than just a ship full of people if you kill us! You kill your own humanity!" The commander just laughed. "That was killed long ago," he said, "when my own son tried to kill me!" Using explosives, he then buried the freighter under the rubble of the island's volcano. Some time later, Cobra troops found the buried freighter and they discovered that though there were many bodies inside, two could not be accounted for: Billy and Zartan (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/zartan.html). It appeared that Billy had once again cheated death. He and Zartan made their way to Scotland where they hoped to get Destro's help. They managed to arrive just as Cobra Commander was staging an attack on Castle Destro. The Joes were there as well, expecting trouble and trying to help Destro. Billy and Zartan managed rescuing Destro and Chuckles (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/chuckles.html) during the attack. After a chase through various countries, they joined forces with the Joes, along with Storm Shadow and the new G.I. Joe Ninja Force team. Together they stopped Cobra Commander's plans.
Billy spent the next few years traveling around the world, happy to avoid conflict and have some peace for once in his life. He eventually found his way to Destro's new castle in the mountains of Trans-Carpathia, and spent some time there as friends with Destro, Zartan and the Baroness. Around the same time, Cobra Commander was taking control of the nation of Borovia. Though he know backed a legitimate government, he became worried that Destro, in nearby Trans-Carpathia, was a threat to him. Using Dr. Mindbender' (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/mindbender.html)s expertise and the Brain-Wave Scanner, the Commander managed to brainwash Destro, the Baroness, Zartan, Storm Shadow and Billy. He now had the original "high command" of Cobra back in power, albeit against their will. Billy, too, joined them under his father's control. A short time later, the G.I. Joe team was team was disbanded by the U.S. military. Soon afterward, Cobra forces fell to a unified attack by regular military forces. Most of Cobra's "high command" disappeared in the wake of the conflict, as did Billy. In the years following, Billy broke free of his father's influence, though he remained emotionally scarred from his brainwashing.

Joe team enlisted his aid to help rescue Snake-Eyes and Scarlett, who had been captured by a revived Cobra. A short time later, William requested membership (officially or unofficially) from the Joes, vowing to help stop his father. Some time later, William received word from Storm Shadow that he needed Snake-Eyes' help to make the final break from Cobra Commander's mind control and he headed to the commando's cabin to ask for his help. By the time Snake-Eyes, Kamakura and Billy reached their fellow ninja, he had again been subjected to the Brain-wave Scanner by Cobra Commander himself. A fight followed, but in the end, Storm Shadow chose to return to the Commander's side.

Months later, Storm Shadow had finally broken free of the Commander's mind control and headed to Japan to distance himself from his past and embrace the Arashikage traditions once again. Billy reunited with his old mentor, who now trained a young woman, Junko Akita, as his new apprentice. She and Storm Shadow also became lovers. When Junko was kidnapped by the Red Ninjas, Billy and Jinx helped Tommy discover Junko had been taken to the Red Ninja's retreat in Tibet. Along with Budo, Snake-Eyes and Kamakura (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/kamakura.html), the ninjas made their way to Tibet and found that Junko had been brainwashed by the evil ninja Sei Tin. After a brutal battle with the Red Ninjas, Billy and the others could not stop the disturbed Junko from leaping to her death into a ravine inside the cave retreat. The surviving Red Ninjas pledged their loyalty to Snake-Eyes once again, as they had months earlier when he was declared their new leader. Days later, a ceremony was held in the mountains honoring those who had died in the battle. It was there that Snake-Eyes turn leadership of the Red Ninjas over to Billy. The last remaining ninjas resolved to become the foundation of the new Arashikage clan (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/ninjas.html), and Billy pledged to carry on their traditions.

well actually we just are guessing its firefly it doesnt really say so yes if you take one of the sketchbook characters that are not known and make them your own go for it cause theres a couple that are well who knows who they are :D

Commander Vance Wingfield of “First Strike”, along with his wife Shary and Captain Carruthers from Marvel #4. First Strike, a paramilitary group funded by Cobra, has a base in Montana that Hawk and Grunt with support from Snake-Eyes infiltrate. First Strike is lead by Vance Wingfield and their mission is to start world war III. They have two nuclear bombs. One is put on a B-29 bomber and flown towards Russia and the other will be detonated here in America. Hawk is able shoot down the B-29 thereby collapsing First Strike's primary plan. The secondary plan is detonate the second bomb right underneath the compound. Vance Wingfield's wife shoots him in the back just after starting the countdown. The rest of the Joe team invades the compound to support Grunt & Snake-Eyes. Zap & Grunt then disarm the nuclear warhead and save the day.
