I don't know what "pattern" will they follow, but this much I know:

If I had to pick just one costume design for Cobra Commander, it'd be the '91 hooded version (later repainted in black for Battle Corps). I just never liked the V1 (battle helmet or hooded) costume as much because it has many elements that, while classic, don't make much sense at all. First of all, those stupid pants that go over his boots. Second, the whole "double-belt" thing. Third, his sigil is on one side, not on the center of his chest. Fourth, that whole hidden gun deal is just dumb.

With the 91 version we finally got a more realistic and regal looking Commander.



And if I had to pick one Snake Eyes version, it would be V2. V1 is as classic as you can get, but he's also too plain and un-original, if you think about it. The only thing that sort of makes you say "ok, that's Snake Eyes" is his mask and goggles, which I never liked either. V2, while much more in the "fantasy" realm, at least is 100 times more recognizable and badass looking. Sure, he's more on the ninja side, but well, let's have Sideshow put some effort into this! Making a SE V1 is a piece of cake :p

What has been confirmed by Sideshow?
Have they said they are going to make 12" figures?

Based on what I have seen on their website over the last 2 weeks, and based on the SW figures with over 30POA I can see myself going to get a few of these.

I'd like to see them slowly release certain iconic characters such as Storm Shadow, Of Course Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness and General Hawk.
I think if they stick to the aspect of what has made them so popular with collectors the GIJOE releases will be fantastic.

I think it is sad to see that only a select few of you listed the most important and by far best gijoe character ever, that being the Baroness. That is the only figure that sideshow needs to make. Series 1 would be:

Well, I have a feeling this will be a short line anyway. Besides Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, I really don't see people paying for this line. The Cobra Commander may sell, but that is more to due that it is still a new line rather than being a good design. To be honest, the Cobra Commander doesn't look that impressive. The Devils Due design for me atleast left alot to be desired. Right now, I am more impressed with the 25th figures with their faithfulness to the original concepts versus Sideshow's "Modern Update." The 25th line managed to update the line but retaining the spirit of the original, but Sideshow's Snake Eyes looks like a kitbash. Plus, the modern sword with the Strider knife like design. Do you know how bad of a weapon design that is? Hard on the hands and very poorly balanced. I love Strider's knife designs, but there are reasons why they are knives not swords.
