About Sideshow Collectibles

Since its founding in 1995, Sideshow has produced more than 1,000 highly authentic licensed figure collectibles, which have generated more than $250,000,000 in retail sales. Regarded by many in the collecting community as the leader in their industry, Sideshow is a 65-person company with a mission grounded in the belief that figure collectibles can link a character-focused populace to their heroes.

In March 2006, Sideshow moved into a state-of-the-art 40,000 square-foot facility in Thousand Oaks, California. Its new home houses a diverse group of creative talents: sculptors, painters, model builders, graphic artists, photographers and multi-media specialists. In addition, the new facility houses a warehouse and shipping center that enables the company to handle Sideshow's increasingly successful Internet operations, as well as to distribute the company's products directly to more than 900 U.S. and Canadian trade accounts.

Sideshow is a licensing based business. Starting with a single license from Universal Studios for its Classic Monsters (Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Dracula, Mummy), the company has expanded its relationships to now include some of the premier entertainment licensors in the industry, a sample of which is listed here:Hasbro Inc./ G.I. Joe, LucasFilm / Star Wars; Marvel Entertainment / Spider-man, X-Men, The Incrdible Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, etc; New Line Cinema / The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street; 20th Century FOX / Alien, Predator, Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Universal Studios / Scarface, Bruce Lee, Jaws, Classic Monsters; Paramount Pictures / The Godfather; MGM Studios / Robocop, Rocky, Army of Darkness; Intermedia / Terminator; Revolution Studios / Hellboy; Signatures Network / KISS; Eon Productions / James Bond; Elvis Presley Enterprises / Elvis; Wayne Enterprises / John Wayne; Blizzard Entertainment / The World of Warcraft.

Sideshow produces a wide range of limited edition figure collectibles including busts, statues and dioramas, but is predominantly known for its work in two sizes: 12-inch (1:6 scale poseable figures) and 18-inch (1:4 scale Premium Format Figures). These figure collectibles are made using two material types: injected plastic with fabric costume and hand-cast Polystone with mixed-media accessories. Sideshow's limited edition products range in price from $50 to more than $6,000. The highest priced items are recently developed life-size reproductions, many of which include electronics and sound. Sideshow products are currently sold in specialty, trend, collectible and comic shops, as well as on the Internet at Sideshow Collectibles.com.

I'm really looking forward to see what Sideshow does with GI Joe. I have a few of their Star Wars pieces and they're amazing. Hopefully we'll see something at Toyfair.

Fully Expect to see a lot of product from them starting on the 16th. Hiss Tank.com will have all the information we can get starting then.
