I'm sorry but why are you charging almost double the price? That is pretty rude to come on here and let the members know you have a set (or two) but put them on eBay and charge almost twice the amount.

Would it be possible to have all this merged into one thread instead of taking up half the first page?

Sorry about that Weasel. Some people don't get these in their area, Im just giving them a chance. As far as the price being too high, that's your opinion. I think BBTS has high prices too but I dont hear anyone complaining.

Isn’t there a name for this type of transaction? What is it called when you buy something and then turn around and resell it at 3 times the cost? I think it has something to do with Native Americans, capitalism maybe? If we have seen anything it is that Comic Packs will be out and in number. They are not selling as fast as the singles, and the sale of singles or the distribution one is increasing. I have been to several Walmarts that had 20, 30 or more figures on shelves lately. I have also seen many, many comic packs including the ones with new characters like the Noks pack hanging around for several weeks. Be patient, they are coming. Unless you have to because there is no retailer within 100 miles of you, or you live out of the country, don’t give in to these bullshit ebay prices! Order them from an online retailer and at least you only pay a couple of dollars more than retail and a reasonable shipping charge. Don’t support Indian Barbers!!!

No you are wrong. BBTS has for $10 each if you buy the set of 4 and less than $10 each if you buy a case! AND I still don't think it matters what some online retailer has them for. You are charging almost double (with shipping it is double) for them. There are members on here looking for them and you are trying to take advantage of that fact.

I ordered that exact quantity from BBTS for $39.99 plus shipping. How in the hell can you justify your price, and say BBTS is high. I think you should delete this thread, or drop your price by $40. You're just setting yourself up for a bashing by the members on here.

Yeah don't get suckered by the fear of not finding them. Place a pre-order with BBTS or just wait for them to hit retail in your area. This kind of gouging needs to stop. It's not good for the collecting community.
Let's compare single orders:
--- + ---- / ---BBTS--- / ---Mr. G---
SE vs. SS -- $9.99 ---- / -- $? Apparently didn't buy too many of what he thought he couldn't sell.
WW vs. Ace -- $10.99 - / -- $17.49 (Has 4 of them!)
Crim Twins -- $14.99 -- / --$19.99 (Has 2 of them!)
Fred & SF -- $14.99 ---- / -- $17.49 (Has 4 of them!)
Now a Set of Four:
--- + ---- / ---BBTS--- / ---Mr. G---
Set of Four -- $39.99 ---- / -- $74.99!

That is true. By trying to turn a profit like that, you are turning into something we here have been trying to fight against. There is nothing wrong with buying extra sets and making a little money, but you don't have to overcharge us in the process...

I actually think that people can sell things for whatever they want, so I wouldn't have commented here generally, but to Mr. G's response: honestly, what did you expect? You apparently buy out stock at your local Wal-Marts (so that others can't get them--and you aren't interested in army building them or hoarding them for yourself, which are apparently acceptable ways to clear out stock to a lot of people around here), bump the price up, and try to promote your eBay sales on an online toy collectors forum, where people generally pride themselves on helping others out, instead of exploiting each other. Maybe next time you could just not post your auctions here if you don't want to face criticism (in two different threads for some reason?).
Again, I have no issue with your post(s), really, I just don't understand how you are surprised. . .

Sorry Mr.G, I actually enjoy pointing out and commenting on what I feel is a scourge to the collecting community. If it makes you feel bad, great, if it doesn't, great, whatever. You decided to post a retail product at a inflated price on ebay hoping to profit on artificially created scarcity. Don't fool yourself, manipulating the "free market" for profit is not capitalism, it's LAME.
General Hawk

Yeah, sorry, man, but if you have the freedom to post 4 separate threads pushing these overpriced auctions, then everyone else certainly has a right to complain about them.
If you'd rather they didn't comment about your prices, you're always welcome to not post them in the first place. It goes both ways.

I have to agree with most of the guys here. I'm in Portugal I used ebay a lot specially for older figures. Ok they are also overcharged there but they are rare items so I can accept. But this I cannot. Prices just had a jump with 25th I don't remember this with DTC. I sold some of my extra 25th for the price I bought them not including shipping so in the end I lost some bucks.
Worse then overcharging is making us not finding the items we want. We all know it has been hard finding them. Before I had a person looking for them for me now I have 3 or 4 in different areas so that I can cover them all.

Mr.G I warned you in my first response about this thread that you'd take a bashing for this. You set yourself up for it. Price gouging is one sure way to piss us off. I will outright say that what you are doing is SCALPING. If you were to stand outside WM and do this you'd be arrested. It's no different than ticket scalpers who stand outside at a concert. I myself would rather spend that other 40 bucks you're trying to scam out of someone, and put it toward the next wave of figures. Nobody here is trying to tell you not to try and sell them on Ebay, we're just letting you know that it pissed us off that you try to make it look like you're helping us to get them. You even went as far as to suggest to another member that he should cancel his order with BBTS, and buy yours. If you and Outback don't like the whining, or bitching here, I heard Mattel has a really nice Barbie forum you could join. That's all MAGGOTS, carry on.

Excuse me? Who are you calling immature? If that's not the pot calling the kettle black I don't know what is. I'm not "looking" for a reason to complain. Especially when I think (and apparently as do others here) Mr. G is taking advantage of a situation. He's not trying to make anyone happy but himself with the prices he's attempting to charge.

Oh, fear not, Mr. G, it's no waste of energy.
What is a waste is to blow twice the dough to a scalper.
I mean, common now, what did you expect? All of the forums for any toy line are anti-scalper. To walk in here and post several diffrent thread saying: "Hey guys! I got the new stuff your looking for at twice the price PLUS shipping!"
Dude, common now.
And the stab at BBTS doesnt hold either, man. I'm out in the sticks and don't see the stuff (which was your defense), but it would cost the same for me to get them from BBTS as it would if a buddy in a big city picked them all up for me and mailed/Fedex/UPS'ed them to me.

What? Come on, HISSTank is supposed to be a "community". We look out for each other here. And I don't think Mr. G is "looking out" for anyone here. I have a problem with guys (or girls) that come here and pimp their ridiculous eBay auctions and/or prices on here when selling stuff. That's not what this place (or any Joe forum community) is for.

Outback I agree with you at times, but this isn't one of them. I understand this is the USA and it's capitalism. But that doesn't fly with this. This forum isn't about ripping people off. It's not about putting a "hot item" that just came out on eBay with prices close to twice that of retail and then come pimp it on here. I don't care what you say, I can't agree with you that it's an acceptable stance.
Look at the situation. He bought probably all of the stock of Wave 3 CP's that store had and then put them on eBay at almost twice the retail cost. Then came here and pimped them. Basically he said, I removed any chance of you finding them right now (or for a while the way some stores are), but you can buy them from me double what you could have paid. That to me is a total slap in the face.

I agree again. I thought this forum was supposed to be like a family. A group of people who help each other not try to take advantage of the situation. I see what Outback is trying to say but i still think it is wrong to try and exploit new items on ebay for more than double what they are worth...

That's essentially it. Most forums don't allow people to haggle about prices at all, just to avoid this sort of thing. I may not agree with what Mr. G is doing here (I don't, actually), but we can all speak with our wallets without resorting to cheap name calling (and I'm referring only to those who are explicitly doing that here). I say just let him be, don't trade with him if you don't want to, and let that be that (that's how "families" deal with each other some times, isn't it?).

How is this any different from putting it on E-Bay for 99 cents?
If it's an item with high demand it will sell for $74! or more! Are you going to complain then when it hit's that number when 5 bids push it up that high? It's called supply and demand.
I am like you, I would like a fair and balanced world where people feel for you if you don't have enough cash for that collectable you want and offer it at a "kind" price. But this is the Human race my friend. It's a world full of "me me me!" and "gimmie gimmie gimmie".. Sucks I know. Wanna join Cobra? hehe
If I knew I could make $$$ off of a fine quality coffee bean, I'm gonna contact the people who "know" and then offer it to them first for the price I feel I can get for it due to the fact I was lucky/smart enough to get ahold of this item.
Coffee beans,Joe figures, Cancer medications... If you know people want a certain want it, you go to where those people congregate and present it for purchase.

Oh, I wanted to add in also, I have seen so many people "Overprice" stuff from Joes to Video cards to anything... I laugh at it. I know they went to all the trouble of waiting for 6-10 days to have no one bid. It's a learning process. Once they realize they are over pricing, they will come back to reality. But... BUT! If 1 person pays them that much for it, well then we all start looking at the price we offered ours at on Ebay don't we?

There has been thread after thread on here of guys (and girls?) saying how they can't find these figures and continually asking for others to help out when they can. Then you get threads like this where someone is attempting to TAKE ADVANTAGE of others on here knowing there is a demand for the 25th figures. You can totally voice your opinion.. but i thought the mods created a scalper thread for that.
I really don't believe voicing your opinion or complaining on the boards will change anyone who does it in the first place.
Hope I don't come off angry. I understand the frustration.. but scalpers will be around forever.. regardless of what they sell.
