Wouldn't let me start up a thread on the Sightings forum...

Forbidden Planet in London has a huge display of Joes.

8 pegs of single carded figs comprised of waves 4, 10 and 12, priced at £8.78

The two exclusive Extreme conditions packs at around £35

Vehicle Waves 1 and 2 for about £20 each

Battle Packs 1 to 4 for £25 each.

They also had some of the 12" figs as well.

Prices are quite high, but It was just great to see them on pegs over here.

Didn't have my camera otherwise I would have taken some pics.

Forbidden Planet London has renewed stocks of Modern Era figure, including resolute two packs (Tunnel Rat/Storm Shadow, Shockblast/Destro) and Duke, Viper and Cobra Commander, as well as loads of vehicles, DVD sets (including greatest battles) and single figures and two packs from several waves.

Prices are still high at £8 for ME figures and £10 for Resolute figures.

Just got back from the city . the release date for the ROC joes is next friday 10th July in the Smyths retail chain.so seeing as they are out then here the Uk will prob be the same date .

Is it just wave 1, or Wave 2 as well? Only 'must have' is Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes, I know Malibu Stacey with hat syndrome, but i still want it.

For those of you buying the PIT. Optimus and Megatron from the ROTF line had their phrases altered for the European market.

I'm wondering if something smilar will happen to the Pit?

were still waiting for them, i know there out in ireland ...

If that's the shop i think it is, it's an import store and they weren't sourced from Hasbro U.K.

On The Entertainer toy shop website the figures are priced at £8 and the small vehicles are priced at £15, but you cant pre order, it says they are out of stock.

Hey guys in from the midlands (yay me lol). Its near impossible to find anything GI JOE related here, i did just pick up the extreme conditions boxsets though but that was just pure luck. Im hoping that when the ROC toys become available here the retailers will decide to sell some other JOE related items aswell, if not im screwed because i dont have the option of ordering them online.

Just been to Smyths in Derry the Joes are on the top shelf still boxed with sign saying "not for sale till 10th July" :)

I ordered the STEEL CRUSHER from Play.com a few days ago, but despite it being in stock they haven't shipped it yet. As they're usually quick to process in stock orders, I presume they're waiting for the street date before letting it go.

Slightly OT, but I've just been reading the various threads about Target 75% off sales, and weeping into my coffee.

25th Anniversary figures for ~$2, vehicles/jets/etc. for ~$7 and even sales on the new ROC figures (which were already significantly cheaper than they look like they'll be over here).

Oh well, just have to grin and bear it I guess, will be nice to finally be able to buy some GI Joe stuff in a bricks and mortar shop at last! :)

According to an online retailer I know, it's because the previous GI Joe stuff (VvV, Spy Troops; hardly the best Joe toys ever really) we got here sold so poorly.
Of course, the fact that Hasbro UK would market sushi as "Raw, Dead Fish" doesn't help.

They're out in the UK; Toys R us Luton had cases in, but they weren't out on shelves yet. So if you don't see them, ask someone. The guy I spoke to was perfectly happy to bring one of each case out for me to look through. Stuff I remember seeing in them:

Well, today I got...

(from Smyths) Managed to get all Wave one, although a few people had definatly got there before me! The pegs looked a bit depleted and ragged! They had all the figures from Wave 1 and vehicles I think. Also 12" figs but I didn't think much of them!

TRU had the second wave I think it is with Neo-Viper Commando, Heavy Duty, Breaker, Accelerator Ripcord and Zartan although I didn't see Shipwreck :( but yeah definately going back probably gonna get Wave 2 and the Mole Pod (mainly cause the figure is cool)

Best part of my day was seeing Joe toys in toy stores here! Was hoping they'd throw in some 25th figs but oh well can't get everything!

EDIT: After some browsing I realised I haven't got all Wave 1, wave 1 consists of those six more figs I was talking about, D'oh.

Can't get out of the house much so just ordered a shed-load from TOYS R' US online: Mole Pod, Snake Eyes, Night Raven (sic), Storm Shadow, Zartan and a couple of Viper Commandos.

The £8 price tag for figures? Totally expected by me - No surprise there at all. I have no other vices so I don't really mind either.

well not to burst your bubble but scarlett was also wave 2 .
I picked up shippy he seems to be shortpacked in that wave . outa 40 or so figures i saw there was only one of him
that £8 price point is harse its nearly £ per € then cus the prices are quite close .
yeah those 12inchers weren't much good may grab then when they go on clearance

Toymaster in Halifax has Wave 1 figures, the Alpha vehicles and some of the Bravo vehicles. No PITT though.
Bizarrely, they are REALLY high up, the lowest stuff being just reachable (I'm about 5'10). This was taken from eye level, looking up.
No sign in Tesco or Sainsbury's.

Hey since we Icelanders are part Nordic and part Gaelic, I just wanted to give a shout to my neighbours in the south. I'm Iceland's only Hisstank member :)
We don't receive RoC figures here in Iceland though...there is only one store here in Iceland that carries G.I. Joe and it's a tiny comic book store in Reykjavik :(

I've just bought a few RoC figure, SS, Desert Duke, and Shipwreck. I bought them from staractionfigures.co.uk (as I was also after a 25th Anniversary Arctic Snake Eyes, and the cost is the same as in the shops anyway).

Only a week or so to go 'till the movie, I'm ever hopeful as more places start stocking (and online, does HTS work for us over here?) the prices will take a hit - I've seen lots of figures I'd like but ~£8 a piece will really hurt my wallet. Ah well, needs must :)

nearly 4 weeks after their launch and they joe figures in my local smyths havn't changed they are still putting out Destro's baroness .SE SS scarlett shippy(who i seem to have got the only one of) breaker .theres no viper commandos just neo-viper and dukes . plus very little Ripcords

Man. I am so late!!!

But anywho yep as my name suggest I'm from the UK, London to be precise.

As for the G.I.Joe ROC line I've seen them at TRU at Old Kent Road and Forbidden Planet down Shaftbury Avenue. And as for Hamleys, biggest Toy store in london, last time I checked they had zippo... What a joke!!!

Suprise at Forbidden tho, cause they already have the "Pit" and the item looks pretty massive! But it so expensive in there!

Figures are around £10, Alpha vehicles about £17/£18,Bravo vehicles £32 - £35 and The Night Raven is over £40. God knows how much the Pit will cost.

I only have snake eyes, storm shadow, shipwreck and destro. got 2 from staractionfigures and the others from tru. Want to get some vehicles, think I'll get them from play.com

heads up people the pitts down to 130euro at smyths
the raven is 38.98 (kinda bummed i bought it three days before price drop)
figures are 7.49
the small vehicles are 14.99
and the others are 27ish.

may get a pitt soon :)

oh an all the tesco's i've been to in the Cork area had zip that was three days ago

Clarehall is possibly the biggest Tesco in the country? and even than they only had a small end cap.

I wonder if Smyths may have done their homework, in the case of the Pit and Bravo class vehicles that's about what it would cost to import them based on the lowest shipping cost on eBay.

It also makes me wonder if they're going to continue supporting the line at all?

Movie didn't really feel like something for kids to me, but toy lines ultimately need support from children to become successful... I really feel like later waves are going to be hard to come by here.

Ouch! Just popped into Bath for some things, and wandered by Eric Snook's (the only toyshop in town) to see if I could pick up PP SS.

Don't know if this is posted yet. Tescos are doing £2 off the RRP of the figures, so that's £5.97 each. They only have a selection of six figures: Duke, Baroness, Destro, NeoViper and the two Ninja dudes.

They also have the small vehicles at £3 off so they are selling those at £11.97 or thereabouts.

My local shop only had a small display. No sign of the large vehicles.

I also saw that buy-one-get-one-half-price offer in TRU on Thursday. I assumed it included the vehicles but I could be wrong.

After reading this thread earlier I drove to Smyths toyshop in another town (I don't have one locally) and got myself a few figures at £5.99 each. Plus I decided to go for the Night Bird at £29.99. Quite happy to pay those prices as opposed to the RRP!

Can anyone tell me if the UK will be getting the other vehicles such as the Ice Dagger, Crimson Hydra and Dragonhawk?

Also, can anyone point me towards a good list of figures that should be on sale.

Drove to the Smyths in Derry today to look for the new figures. Found Cover Girl, Heavy Duty II and Sgt. Stone. No sign of the Deep Six guy or Elite viper. I was quite keen on getting the diver so that was a little disapointing, but was happy to get Cover Girl and the others. Also got Zartan. Price still £5.99. I wonder if the gijoe sale will end soon?

My Sainsburys has gijoe toys as well but they are full price, or at least they were at the weekend.

I must have been there at about 12:15 ish. I had a good look all through the pegs and was very happy to see Cover Girl peeking out. I get all the vipers and destro mixed up but I'm sure I didn't see any Elite Vipers. I asked a staff guy if he had Deep Six. He went up some steps to check some boxes he spotted but no joy.

The two boxes unopened were from wave 1 as far as i could see. I must have just missed you! :) I was in around 11.30am as my youngest son wanted deepsix for his birthday after seeing mine yesterday. Smythes usually get their deliveries on tues and thurs. I'll keep an eye out and post here.

Happened to be back in Ballymena today so I checked out Smyths again. Nothing new, but the sale continues.

Popped into Camerons on the way back to the car and was surprised to see the cobra commander wave of figures. They were at the full price of £7.99 but I grabbed the single Scarlett from that wave as I quite wanted her.

I was also tempted by the Ice viper guy but the price put me off. Maybe they'll turn up somewhere else cheaper soon.

Argos are selling the figures 25% off now. They say there are "19 to collect" and the little photo seems to show duke in reactive armor so perhaps they have that collection in stock.

I am slightly annoyed about the Night Raven as I paid £29.99 for it. Ah well.

Well my grandmother has always followed and kept up a family tree that she shows us coming from Ireland a hella long time ago so I guess thats my heritage. But I was born and raised in the U.S. so i hail from Michigan.

There is a couple or so different versions of him, single carded version(blueish), SRO set version(light brown) and theres the Desert Viper, who is basically a Elite Viper repaint just renamed.

Also of note, the Terminator Salvation A-10 was down to £10, which also proved to be irresistible.

Went to Smyths and made a great find. They had an Ice Dagger! And it was £14.99! So I grabbed that. I also finally got a Gunship for the same price.

Very happy with the Ice Dagger once I got it out of the box, but much to my surprise I like the Gunship more than I thought I would.

Fingers crossed they get in the red stealth fighter at that price!

Another great find in Smyths today. I went in on the off-chance of seeing the other Bravo vehicles. No such luck. However they did have a bunch of new Alpha vehicles, and all for £7.50 each.

Very pleased to get these at that price. They only had one of each on the shelf.

And the fact that they had these wave 2 vehicles in stock leaves me hopeful that they'll have the other two Bravo vehicles in eventually.

Gonna visit the Smyths down the road later today. I went there last tuesday but for got my credit card.
The website shows the crusher in stock for £14.99. Alot of the figures are down to £3.99 aswell. Don't know the figure range yet!

The only fear I have is that if they are reducing these by this much it might put them off getting further stock of the new ranges.

If you go to the Smyths website you can print off a £7 voucher for when you spend £25. I wish I had it last week when I bought the Ice Dagger and the Gunship.

The figure range seems a bit poor. It was mainly the Baroness wave plus a Zartan.

If anyone sees the red stealth fighter or the helicopter please post the news here. I don't know if we are getting these vehicles over here but I have my fingers crossed.

As for the lower price being a bad sign remember that Smyths are reducing nearly everything. the Star Trek stuff is less than half-price. Terminator is half-price.

Oddly enough the Wolverine stuff is full price.

the wolverine figures have dropped the terminator figures are €4.50 single figure and the bike one is €7.50.

I noticed that about the terminator stuff (that really is a poor range of toys, not just because they didn't get likeness!). The thing is i assume there will not be another wave of Terminator or ST toys.
Picked up the Crusher (14.99) and Ice Viper (3.99). The Ice Viper is a pretty cool figure (see what I did there?). I like the baggy trousers and the joints on the legs.
The Crusher is just awesome. Just finished putting the stickers on it.
Just put my City Strike SE on the pegs on the side and it looks pretty smart.
They had PP SE there for 3.99 which is abit gutting as I got it a few weeks ago for 7.99 but that lower price is ideal for troop building!

Saw the Charbroil wave in Forbidden Planet.

I think we can safely conclude this line won't be getting much more support, if any, at the major toy retailers.

In terms of sales, The Pit seems to have lived up to its name. I can't remember the last time i saw a toy from a major line take such a quick, extensive, price dive.

For what it's worth I noticed that one of the two figures that comes with the snarler bike is the frostbite figure with a different jacket piece.

I'm a collector in the U.S.
Quick question: Does the release of Blades, for example, as a U.S. convention exclusive piss any of you guys off? I think it's really cool, and I love the designs and color schemes used in the early chapter of the overall Joe Universe that I never had the pleasure of experiencing. I did have a couple early 80s comics that I found sommuch cooler than our puny versions!
Anyway, as frustrated as I was not to be able to get my hands on Blades, what I mostly thought was how tough it must be on you guys.

Kinda annoyed with you getting exclusives like that. But there will always be e-bay I suppossed.
I am normally more annoyed at DVD/Bluray exclusives you get. I had a friend get me the TF2 Bluray exclusive from Wallmart. There are not many different options for buying films. HMV sometimes gets a different cardboard slipcase but thats about it!

I'm getting Resolute from N. America as I don't think there will be a European release anytime soon. I would like to get the ROC blu-ray as well as it's out a month early but I don't know if it will be region free.

ROC is from Paramount so the chances are it will be a region free blu-ray. Gonna get the US as you also get a digital copy and I quite like them for my ipod. It will be interesting if any stores in the US get a store exclusive with an extra figure or whatever. As Target get quite a few toy exclusives you never know?!

Crusher and Gunship boxed together? My Crusher was just the Crusher and Nitro-Viper. Nothing else in there, but a free Gunship would have been awesome!

can anyone confirm this for me.
anyone in UK or Ireland find a mantis sub ,dragonhawk,snarler ,skysweeper, crimson hydra .for retail ? just kinda wondering the only vehicles I keep seeing are the nightraven .ice dagger ,steel crusher,cobra gunship, rockslide(snowjob), snaketrax ,molepod and panther.
btw if the Crusher and gunship are boxed together whats in the box with the icedagger ?

thanks for that . they ain't made it down here yet . also info Tesco's have the joe stuff at up to 50% off . the Night raven is a steal at 19.99 euro a pop .

I got the Dragonhawk from the Entertainer at Lakeside on Saturday, but no sign of the Crimson Hydra. I've spoken with one of the guys at my local Smyths and he is under the impression that they won't be getting too much more in

same story in my local smyths too .I think I was lucky they even got the Ice viper wave in . all the other figures seem to be gone thos .the wave 1's only that wave seems to be peg warming here . anything else was snapped up . but by whom I do not know . coulda been a scalper or kids but were they are in the store is to much outa the way for kids to realy see them . :(

Don't feel bad, most my wal-mart here in the US was so late at getting their RoC stuff out that they have nothing but pegs of Destro, Heavy Duty, Ripcord, Deep Six, and Cover Girl. I mean full pegs, they haven't gotten anything new in forever.

If anyone's still looking for GI Joe ROC I've just walked out of Kingston Entertainer with a PIT Commando, Sgt Flash & Eel for £6 each. They also had Hawk, Crimson Neo Viper & Agent Helix. Bloke on counter said they'd not had anything new for months but these weren't sitting on the shelf the last time we came up here to visit my Mum.

Ouch - this is an Expensive trip to London. Wimbledon's Entertainer had a Dragonhawk as did Kingston's which also had a Crimson Hydra. Both stores had Alpha wave 2.

No new figures today, _Para Viper will have to wait.

Hello to all!!

I scored the Night Raven,Sky Sweeper,Snarler and some Neo vipers for 50% off in Smyths in Bray this past Monday.

heading to Jervis St tomorow to see can I fill some more holes in my ROC collection.the half off is great but now that the PIT is 62 I cant get it anywhere?

did anyone buy the Pit in Ireland?I have been as far as Waterford and all over Dublin looking in every Smyths location in range of me and most of them say they never had it!!

Went to Smyths in Derry today. Lots of bravo vehicles at £14.99 including three ice daggers. They also had the three new alpha vehicles. No sign of the Pit. Lots of figures at £3.99 each.

Over the road in Sainsburys they had a GI Joe "exclusive" three pack containing Baroness, Duke Desert camo and Neo viper. They were doing the opposite of flying off the shelves.

Just come back from Forbidden Planet up London and got Helix and the Pit Commando (damn that has got alot of stuff with it!).
The thing I did notice and forgive me if these have been discussed before are these figures with no guns or stuff. They are printed on smaller cards with the normal artwork but they have no helmets or guns. I suppose you could use them for troop building but you would have to get the guns from somewhere?
They were £5.99 each.

Weird thing was they where no Cobra figures. And the Joes that were there were not normal soldiers.

It's fairly big. It's opposite the new Victoria centre in the middle of town. Downstairs is nearly all toys and action figures. Upstairs is mainly comics and books. All very expensive of course but they sometimes get stuff I don't see anywhere else. The GI Joe figures are over on the wall to the left beneath the stairs. They had a good selection of the later figures.

Arrived in the post today, the dragonhawk and the crimson hydra.

Now, if only someone would sell the RHINO over here...

I kind of like the dragonhawk. It is on the small side as I am sure you have read, but overall it's a nice vehicle. I like the "chunky" front and the way the side missle holders pop out. And I had no problem getting the pilot to wear his hat when seated inside.

On the negative side the rear part of the vehicle is very "skinny" compared to the front. I find it hard to explain. Otherwise the only negative is the small size.

The Crimson Hydra is... odd. From some angles it looks really cool, from others it just doesn't look very sleek. I would have liked the nose to be not as chubby and more like the real stealth fighter! There's quite a few play features and the pilot is not bad.

At the price I paid (£19.99 each) I would give the dragonhawk 7/10 and the Crimson Hydra 6/10. If they looked a bit nicer I would give them an extra point each.

I do have the ROC Rhino now, had to have it shipped from the US. Even so, it's a GREAT vehicle, and I think the blue-ish metallic colour suits it too. Add to that the two-man helicopter...

smyths got in a larger Corps jeep and a chopper that has some potential . btw anyone wanna fill me in asto why the Corp stuff sells better then the joes over here ? we still have the left overs from the CC and ice viper wave here and doesn't look like its budging .
oh side note Debenhams hads joes from wave 1 last time I was in there and its sale time
