My ideal ROC script (warning spoilers ;)

[Scarface1]

Act 1: A masked Destro arrives in a military bunker located in Borovia/Benzene/Sierra Gordo. He meets with the shadowy Commander and offers a new weapon, the Mass Device. The Commander is waging a war against nationalist forces. He needs this weapon to take over Borovia/Benzene/Sierra Gordo. Destro leaves with his MARS troopers, the Baroness and his weapons technician, Scrap Iron.

The Commander doesn't trust Destro, and he has his master of disguise Zartan follow the MARS team.

Act 2: An unmasked James McCullen meets with a cabal of generals to discuss armament sales. He happens to bump into General Hawk while at the Pentagon. Hawk leaves for the Pit. We are introduced to the Joe team: Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Duke, Stalker, Roadblock, Breaker, Clutch and Cover Girl. Hawk briefs the team on heavy terrorist activity in Borovia/Benzene/Sierra Gordo. A mission is put together to take them out.

The Joes attack the Commander's bunker and destroy his Viper Brigades. Duke takes out a Crimson Guard squad and busts into the inner sanctum. Inside, the Commander with Destro and the MARS team is inspecting boxes containing the Mass Device. Duke is overwhelmed and used as a bargaining chip. Clutch or Cover Girl or Stalker is killed in the firefight. The Mass Device is damaged, but it, the Commander and the MARS leaders escape with Duke.

Zartan infiltrates the Pentagon and discovers McCullen's secret: He is selling weapons technology to both sides.

Act 3: The Joes return to the Pit discouraged by the loss of their field commander. However, they have vital info about the Mass Device. Together with Harvard researcher, Doctor Vandermeer, the Joes learn that the Mass Device requires a precious metal to function. A metal found on the ocean floor.

Scrap Iron works furiously to fix the Mass Device, while Destro sends his submarine forces, led by Storm Shadow, to mine the precious metal. The Commander discovers Destro's secret: he is James McCullen, international arms dealer. The Baroness tortures Duke in the brainwave scanner, another MARS creation. We learn of Duke's childhood in St Louis.

Act 4: The Joe team battles MARS sub forces. Big undersea battle. MARS gets the precious metal. The Joes trace MARS back to a little town called Springfield. Full scale assault. Snake Eyes battles Storm Shadow. Just before SE can kill SS, he sees the Arashikage tattoo on SS. SS removes his mask and reveals he is Tommy, of the same clan SS trained in. Cue in flashback.

A masked Destro battles the Joe team with his MARS troopers and Scrap Iron. SI is KIA. Duke escapes from the Baroness. In desperation, Destro prepares to arm the Mass Device.

Act 5: Duke and the Joes destroy the Mass Device. The Commander, now in a blue uniform with chrome plated helmet arrives with his Viper brigades. He rescues Destro and the Baroness. He tells Destro he knows his dual identity. Destro swears allegiance to Cobra Commander and offers his MARS technology and troopers. The Joes wipe out most of the Vipers and secure Springfield.

Zartan arrives in the Florida everglades. He is greeted by a band of thugs. He tells them to mount up, because the Commander has a new assignment paid in gold.

The Joes celebrate at the Pit. Hawk meets with General Flagg. Flagg informs Hawk that new Joes will be added to the roster and the unit will be expanded to fight the growing threat of Cobra.

Any thoughts? I would give up my collection to see something like this.

A coherent, comprehensible, movie plot that adds new elements while paying respect to fans! And Paramount said it couldn't be done.

Where's Firefly? How does Duke kill a Squad of Siegies? Shouldn't Crimson Guard be so deeply inbeded that nobody knows who they are? Why not introduce a new character?


My verison:

There's a large percentage of us who feel that the upcoming movie is going to suck more than the chicks that play in those "Throat Gaggers," booty movies. So here's your chance to share with us your vision for G.I. Joe movie. Being the swell guy that I'm am, I'll go first.

I wouldn't do a "Watchmen," and throw it all the way back to the 80's. No need. I would have it in the present day. Hell, I won't even start off with a "G.I. Joe movie." I'd start off with a Snake Eyes/C.C. origins movie. Basically I'd tell a movie version of G.I. Joe 26-27. With the Hard Master being killed. Stalker, Snake Eyes, and Tommy would be in the LRRP. Maybe participated in the Gulf War or the Invasion of Panama. would have Hawk not as a colonel, maybe a Lt. Colonel in charge of Snake Eyes and company's unit. I would have Gen. Flagg in supporting role because he would come up with the idea of the Joe team and Hawk as it's field commander. Of course you have to do the Scarlett and Snake Eyes back story. C.C. I basically stick with his being disgruntled and on so right wing milita paranoid shit. This movie would lead into the Joe Movie.

The plot would be one of the following: Cobra is formed and is trying to do one of the following:

1) trying to procure a WMD
2) trying to assassinate somebody.
3) trying to de-stabilize a government
4) trying to start a war
5) planning a terrorist attack

The Joe team would be formed to prevent these things from happening or in response to one of the events already happening.

Besides the obvious antagonists, I would utilize Firefly, Zartan, and the Siegies. Of course the Siegies would be in positions of power and influence and be acting as Cobra moles.

Though not in original Joe. I would include Chuckles. He's too cool of a character not to use. Scarlett and Lady Jaye would work with Chuckles in an intel role.

As far as the uniforms, if they're individual uniforms aren't doable i'd differently have them in their individual uniforms when lounging around the Pit which would be located in the Chaplin Assistants Motor Pool at Ft. Wadsworth.

I would try figure out a cool way to slip in a PSA or at least during some part of the movie have the Joes say, "Now you know. And knowing is half the battle." During the closing credits I would play the theme song to the cartoon.

An ideal ROC should be in the present. There's plenty of recent international incidents to use (just think of how cool Iron Man was). A movie focusing on SE/SS/CC wouldn't have a broad enough base for non-fans. But I like Fred Broca's ideas for Cobra's motivation. I'm on the fence about the CG's. The marvel series portrayed them as a secret infiltrative/intelligence unit. The cartoon and DDP series had the CG's as an elite guard. In any case, they need to be in a movie. Because Firefly and Bludd are mercenaries, they can be on their own side while Cobra is assembling. Maybe appear as cameos?
