Shopping at a couple Targets today and I noticed they put out the R.O.C. toys.Even though I don't agree with the direction of the movie I picked some figures up to give them a try.I did pass on the vehicles thought the smaller ones were 14.99 and the midsize were 24.99 while the Night Raven was 39.99 I might go back and get the Night Raven. So I don't know I'm still on the fence but I admit the figures aren't that bad.I do have a cool custom planned with one of these figs

So far, the only figure to disappoint me is the Viper Commando. He can't hold his weapons, the backpack sucks and the vest seems awkward and clumsy. Stone, and Covergirl [though she's fugly] aren't bad at all.

You're Target got Destro in?????!!! Dammit!!

Then again, if you saw my topic, the guy at Target pulled every single figure off the peg hooks a few minutes after I grabbed what I wanted, throwing them into a huge box as quickly as he could as if he had a vendetta of sorts.

BTW, despite how much I do not like his design, the CC figure is awesome.

No need to worry. These are movie toys now and will be plentiful especially when the movie hits. These haven't even hit mass retail everywhere yet and we are only dealing with the first initial shipment which of course the die hard collectors who have to have everything first will get them but more will come in and factor in that some Joe collectors refuse to buy R.O.C. toys so there will be more around definitely

Stone and Covergirl are both awesome figures. They fit in with the 25th guys perfectly. So does Desert Duke - I'm going to be using him to make my spearhead custom.

The others aren't quite as good a fit, but shipwreck is pretty cool. Best diving accessories so far.

WAY cheeper than I expected. I picked one up, but I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it. Its just not the night raven to me.

Are you going to take them out of the package and display them ?
The movie figures look very good ,in terms of likeness ,sculpting and the paint applications look very neat also, weather or not the movie is a success (another can of worms i don't want to open)i'll be buying them for sure .

So, were the figures free since there's no price tags on the pegs?
You have croosed over to the ROC-side, now there's no turning back.

Well you were right. They are plentiful. I thought it was going to be difficult to find the Bravo vehicles. But there they were at TRU all over the place.

In fact, I've never seen this many joes on the shelves either. They actually had Cobras. Both Cobra vipers were on the shelves and you never saw the bad guys with the 25th/ME line.

But in other news, I also saw ROTF stuff. It was clogging the aisles at Target. I told some kid to buy Ravage and he did. I think kids may be getting back into action figures again. They are cheaper than video games.

Now Hasbro just had to create cartoon properties around both Gi Joe and Transformers and it will be 1985 again.

I went to my local Target yesterday and they had zero of ROC.

I think as the movie gets closer, we will see more and more on shelves. If the movie turns out to be a hit we will see more GI Joe toys and fans than we have seen in years.

I talked to a guy in charge of the toys at my Target this afternoon, as they had some of Collection 2, Wave 2 out, and I wanted more, so I had him go in the back to get more cases, and when he saw the "Street Date" of July 10th he pulled everything off the shelves (even thought I bought a bunch yesterday).

He said the new planogram will be up tomorrow morning and the figures will be back out on the floor. I saw the new setup, it's 3 endcaps, one for figures, one for the crappy products and I believe one for vehicles. Completely replacing the TF toys.

OK well i am glad you all got yours today! I went to all the stores here in mansfield....and i got a Sgt Slaughter BnB figure and that was it! None of the Stores had them out yet and Target had a sign saying that they are not going to be available until 2morrow! I am so Upset I should be playing with these RIGHT NOW!!!!

So at about 8:00pm today(July 4th), the new Target RoC Displays were up here in Denton, TX with nothing yet sold....

They had two displays that were both toy aisle endcaps, one with 3 3/4" collections and the other with noisy randoms and 12" figures.

For the 3 3/4" figs, there were all three vehicles types:
about 6 each of all 4 Alpha types(ATV,Snow,Drill,Ugly Armadillo),
about 4 each of the 2 Bravo types(Gunship,Hummer),
and around 10+ of the Echo type(Night Raven)

For the Single Cards they only had Collection 1 Wave 1 figures:
18 Neo Vipers
17 Destros
17 Dukes (Desert Gear)
16 Baronesses
16 Snake Eyes
14 Storm Shadows

I hope that the line does well and does not flop like GvsC :o(
This is highly competitive collector area and to see untouched pegs @ the end of the day is a little disheartening. All in all, it simply makes the hunt less fun.

Questions,
Has anyone found any variants yet?
A few of the weapons have different #s on them. (i.e. Snake Eyes had a #2 on his sword and the Desert Duke had #s 1-4 on his weapon), yet I could not find any better noticable variants.

Does anyone know if the exclusives will be on frustratingly hidden Checkout Aisle Endcaps like the Wave 1 25th Vehicles were?

In many respects, I feel that the ROC figures corrected many of the problems associated with the 25th line.

-ROC figures can sit realistically
-holding a rifle with two hands is no longer a problem
-no more duke arms as far as I can tell
-Scarlett and Covergirl can even hold a salute position

I just don't understand why the spring-loaded weapons have to be so massive. I bet Hasbro could make a realistic spring-loaded RPG or Bazooka that is only slightly out of scale. But if the weapons must be massive, perhaps Hasbro could include more tripods like the one we saw in the Resolute pack.

I got my Crimson Neo Viper (Cobra Royal Guard) in my online order yesterday (C2 ASST Wave 3 is what the box says). Although I dont dig the viper body armor, he is really cool. The Copperhead snake in the box is a nice touch too.

For those of you not finding any figures in Wal-mart you might want to look in the center isles. I had seen the end caps with Snake eyes gear and combat heros, but no regular figures.

A couple days later, still no figures. So I walked down to check out some DVD's. Getting what I wanted I started back up front and realized that what I had thought was another Transformers display was actually the ROC Joes. But they were down by the DVD section.

Man I caved in as well. I said I wouldn't buy any RoC vehicles but I ended up getting the ice dagger at TRU today for 19.99. I really just wanted the figure but now that I think about it the ice dagger will make a awesome artic Hisstank II.

Well I took the TRU circular to Target and they said they just started the price match program this Sunday. So I go and get more Joes some for display some for customs and I return back at service counter and this guy that looks exactly like Flavor Flav says to me he can't do the price match.I say the Service Manager just told me I could.Flav says its only for items that are on sale in the flier.I say it is on sale!!He says "it don't work for 2 for 9.99""I need a sale price".I say man just do the math its on sale for like $5.Finally he calls over the service manager and he does the adjusment instantly while I give "I told you so" stare to Flav. Not till I go home and look at the reciept did I realize the service manager's math was a little off lol.I like good days :)

Target & Wallys are flooded with joes, that needs to get moving in order for next waves to come in.
