EEL (ROC Target Ex.)
****1/2 (4.5 out of 5)
When ws_toys put up the new ROC EEL his quantity numbers dwindled fast, so fast that in hesitation I grabbed one of the last ones. Keep in mind I was thinking the figure would come with a much larger ROC vehicle at the time, & I am not buying a lot of large ROC vehicles & am mostly interested in the figures... We found out shortly after that the EEL, Air Viper, SE, & Grandslam were all Target exclusives with small vehicles... in hindsight, I probably would have passed on this figure knowing what I know now, as I will most likely be picking up all 4 of the Target vehicles, none the less, it's cool to have another Test-Shot in my collection & to be one of the first to have him at all. ^_- Now the ROC Target Ex. EEL comes with all of the accessories as the 1st, (backpack, helmet, shoulder pads, rifle, 2 x knife, 2 x flippers, mouthguard, & jet thrusters) although as pictured in the auction my Test-Shot only has 1 knife, but the in package pics do in fact reveal the retail version will come with 2, also the Test-Shot has no stand which is common with the China auctions. The colors are great & he has a nice amount of detailing painted (like the brushed gun metal pads & wrists, & the detailed ear piece on his helmet).
As a rule, I have found all of my Test-Shots to have really nice paint apps! As opposed to some of the horrors you see on the peg.
The lime green really adds a nice "Future" contrast to this guy, & I find it a nice added touch & not distracting what so ever. The belt has a nice painted detail & the lower legs two-tone makes this figure stand out a bit more than his previous incarnation. If you like the Modern Era EEL, & found him hard to find, you may want to do yourself a favor & pick this guy up in squads or as your leader.
